Samantha Brick...cause I'm really really good looking..

I said it yesterday, I'll say it again today because it's true: I know exactly how Ms.Brick feels because I know what it's like - I too have been hated by women because of my looks.

Oh Jesus! It gets worse, when in a hole stop digging!

One major difference is Angelina Jolie is good looking, and is famous for being so, and yet I have never seen an article where she has said that. Brick is neither, she is an average looking woman, who is probably quite well-off dresses quite well and takes some pride in her appearance, but she is not beautiful, the fact she thinks she is probably what causes all of these people to dislike her.

To be honest I have always thought of the "women don't like me because I am beautiful" line, to be a defence mechanism, because everyone I have seen use it, is really nothing special, and normally have a fairly unpleasant personality. Rather than accept they are an unpleasant person they delude themselves with the idea that it is because they are beautiful that nobody likes them. This then makes them find solace in the company of men and then develop a confidence around men that others, men and women, mistake for flirting.

To be honest that is probably more of the issue, that she is confident and comfortable in her own skin in such a way that other women of equal attractiveness aren't and that causes the jealousy from the women and the attention from men more so than her physical looks.

The more I think about it, the more I think this is the reason, she is not, as someone up there said, insecure, she is an average looking woman that is full of confidence, and confidence is an attractive quality, one that can't be seen in photos. When you look at her she is average, plain, she even has slightly misshapen face, but as GLC said, he "would" as would I, there is nothing wrong with her.

Her problem is she doesn't seem to be wracked with insecurities and confidence issues that blight alot of average looking middle-aged women. She is confident, successful and not threatened or intimidated by men. That is what these women are jealous of not her looks, they see this average looking woman who is their equivalent in terms of looks, but so much more conifdent, and they want to be like that. But they are not.

Now as woman, they can't sit around bitching about a woman being confident and successful, that goes against the values of sisterhood, so they blame it on her looks, that she is a flirt and that she is only successful because she is amazingly pretty, which as we have established is not true.

The only thing Miss Brick has done is believe them and try to understand why.

I'm not smug and I'm no flirt

Forced out: While Samantha has previously admitted to flirting to get ahead at work, she also says jealous female bosses have made some jobs so unbearable she has been forced to leave

She's my girlfriend's brother's sister-in-law.

Small world, innit?

I've always imagined you to operate in some pretty elite circles.

You keep thinking that, James.

I think I actually met her briefly at a family do. I seem to remember lashing out blindly because she's so beautiful.

I've not the slightest idea if the article reflects her actual view of the world, but I suppose it could. I should just remind everyone that this is the Daily Mail, a publication that will cheerily publish pretty much anything, and whether it's right or wrong or plain made up, we've all been adding to the footfall of their ludicrously successful website.

If I see her again I'll ask her what it's all about

Not only is she not as beautiful as she thinks she is but she has terrible judgement for a journalist. Unless this is some sort of performance art or social experiment, which I can't see The Daily Mail pulling off.

She strikes me as someone who wouldn't take it up the arse.

And she's definitely far too pretty to swallow.

I want whatever mirror she uses.....

and even if you are as stunning as she claims, you're asking for trouble coming out with arrogant crap like that

Other people who don't know me have queued up to call me ugly, stupid, a b****.

You just love the British.

Obsessed with queueing. So polite.

But Danny Baker gets lots of women? :dunno:

I like when she writes, "Even I..." as though she is at the pinnacle of the problem.

If people really do have a disposition to dislike her it's probably because she's arrogant without any cause and a twat to match.

Who publishes an article like this? There are so many cuntish lines in there. IF Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt said that....IF. They didn't, and they're both 100 times better looking than you. How fvcking stupid can you be?

Is she a journalist for the Daily Mail or just some bint who's written in and wants some attention?

Someone tweeted yesterday that 'whilst most people have a set of beer goggles, Brick seems to have acquired a beer mirror' lol

Not a clue who she is. Never heard of her before this thread.

She's okay, but she's no head turner. See more attractive ladies walking down the street every day.

She's definitely written other high quality articles for them previously. I think she's taken things to a new level this time though
