Corky Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Either of the listless 2-0 defeats I've seen at Southampton.
Matt Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Barnsley away 10/11. 1st got chucked off a train for doing nothing but having a quiet beer with a mate - Apparently i'd offended or verbally abused a woman - Which i'd done nothing of the sort, as I said I was simply having a quiet beer, infact think it was so quiet we weren't even talking at the time, I think it was just a case of a jumped up jobsworth ticket inspector who saw a larger group of lads who were been abit noisy but saying nothing offensive or doing anything wrong and he wanted to make a point to them, he came up to me and my mate and said 'I want anyone drinking off' I stupidly made eye contact with him and he picked on us, I got up and said i'd get off providing he gave me a reason because I thought drinking was aloud on trains, he later said (After me having to push him on a reason) 'Yes drinking is aloud but he'd had a report from a women she'd been offended or verbally abused' I said well it wasn't me, but to save any more arguements just got off, I should have took his number/details and complained about him but at the time didn't think. When we finally got to Barnsley, I tried to walk into the town only to be told by the police that no away fans were allowed in the town or any pubs, but we needed money out so we were escorted by a policeman to a cash point, and then went to the ground, the ground is a shithole - I normally like 'the shithole grounds' but Barnsley takes the piss. I think we also got delayed for quite a long time on the train home too - Not 100% sure that was this game though, think it might have been though. The good thing? We won, but the day on a whole was awful.
isaidno Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Kettering pre season friendly 2008. I got attacked by a gang of youths walking home.
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Bristol city this year, im from brizzle so obviously the trip wasnt the problem but i had been given the duty of looking after the tickets for the first time by my dad, left them in the car and realised only once we got the gate. convinced all my bristol city friends to come as i thought we'd crush them and it would be really funny... they spotted me while they were in the car sprinting back to try get the tickets, kept ringing and texting me the whole game while they were ahead, then bumped into them on the way home where they all surrounded me pushing me about and singing, i was not happy
Bangkok Mick Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Wow someone else here went to the Old Den for that FA Cup 5th round game!! One of the very few occasions when losing didn't really bother me. Scary place with lots of trashed cars and vans in a cold, lifeless, total exclusion zone around the ground. A few Millwall fans tried for ages to get at our fans during the game and a few incredibly brave (brainless) Foxes fans took them on. Coppers didn't care. The Hare krishnas at Ipswich were priceless, especially when a load ran over their old exec box roofs and jumped in with their fans. Being attacked by Hare krishna Leicester fans will never be believed unless you witnessed it . My worst is any 2-0 loss at an old style uncovered away end on a cold wet day, ie boro, Sunderland, Oldham etc. I have seen lots of them and I always get the 'I wanna go home' feeling. I seem to remember the ref did a few inspections throughout the day and it was only mid afternoon when they actually said the game was on. By then I think a lot of people had decided not to bother. We went down on the train and when we got to the station at Millwall I remember a copper saying "you better pray you lose tonight!"..... very eerie night. here`s a few more away days Aston Villa.... during the MoN era we had a great record there. I remember one game I was in their corporate boxes, sat outside next to the Holte end. I think we won 2-0. I went up like a maniac when we scored first and to a man became to sole focal point for a while for the entire Holte End! Blackburn away.... the rooster! Spurs away... in the early 80s. I was standing on the `shelf` with a yid mate when we were 3-1 up at half time, I think Linekar had bagged a goal...and I couldn`t say a word. Sheff Wed.... been mentioned before they`d just won a cup or something. We were trounced 7-1 but never stopped singing Peterborough... I think during the Brian Little era. First time we`d played them for years. We took thousands. All behind the goal and standing all down the side. Attempted pitch invasion with police & dogs holding Leicester back in the corner and a small fire started down the side... mental day. Souhtampton away... can`t remember the season. It might have been early 90`s and possibly the last game of the season. We all stayed the weekend in Bournemouth along with hundreds of city fans, red hot and barmy!!! Southampton away....Again can`t remember the season but I took my young daughter and her friend. Got to Southampton about 9am I think on a Sunday, found a nice little cafe for a Full English..... but as the waifs & strays started drifting in it turned out the cafe was well known as a transvestite safe house!!! Not easy to explain to two 13 year olds... but nice breakfast anyway....we didn`t stay too long!
AmericanScott Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Cov away in '08. Getting the Stagecoach 48 bus that took about 2 hours. Didn't help that i needed the most horrific piss ever by the time we passed LFE! I chewed half my coat sleeve off because my bladder was the size of a bowling ball. It was the only way to numb the pain. Lost 2-0 and we had probably 1 shot on goal all game. Awful. 5-1 at Forest was awful too.
Kitchandro Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Barnsley away 11/12. 1st got chucked off a train for doing nothing but having a quiet beer with a mate - Apparently i'd offended or verbally abused a woman - Which i'd done nothing of the sort, as I said I was simply having a quiet beer, infact think it was so quiet we weren't even talking at the time, I think it was just a case of a jumped up jobsworth ticket inspector who saw a larger group of lads who were been abit noisy but saying nothing offensive or doing anything wrong and he wanted to make a point to them, he came up to me and my mate and said 'I want anyone drinking off' I stupidly made eye contact with him and he picked on us, I got up and said i'd get off providing he gave me a reason because I thought drinking was aloud on trains, he later said (After me having to push him on a reason) 'Yes drinking is aloud but he'd had a report from a women she'd been offended or verbally abused' I said well it wasn't me, but to save any more arguements just got off, I should have took his number/details and complained about him but at the time didn't think. We won, but the day on a whole was awful. We drew 1-1 this season. Do you mean last season? I went this season and the game was very poor but there was a pub at the train station (and fortunately I didn't get chucked off) so it was all good up until kick off. Which is the story for most away games I go to!
lcfcadam Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 it was all good up until kick off. Which is the story for most away games I go to! A-****ing-men to that...
RonnieTodger Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Only been to a recent ones but there's a few: 07/08 - Sheff Utd: Lost 3-0, 30 mins gone and James Beattie had scored a hat-trick after Kisnorbo was sent off for "fouling Billy Sharp inside the box", when replays showed Sharp dived and it was outside the box. Never stopped singing, but a shit result which compounded the misery of that season. 07/08 - Coventry: Lost 2-0, just total shit 09/10 - Derby: Lost 1-0, The morning of the game, my mum and dad had told me they were going to split up after 16 years of marriage, I was devastated and really didn't see it coming. I thought I'd go to the game and try and take my mind off it. Chris ****ing Weale just let Andy King's pass roll past him to cap off a truly miserable day for a horrendously boring 1-0 defeat against a poor Derby side. Our mongy fans embarrassed us by screaming and swearing at Oakley just for clapping the opposition fans who, quite frankly were a lot better to him than we were. To make it worse, on the DVD of that season, Chris Weale laughs about it! 09/10 - Scunthorpe: Drew 1-1, after missing out on a Forest ticket, I decided to go Scunny instead and watch us concede late to an awful Scunthorpe side who should've been 5 down if it weren't for Joe Murphy 09/10 - Sheff Wed: Lost 2-0, drab, shitty performance in which our only bright spark was a Kermorgant free kick blazing over the crossbar 10/11 - Forest: Lost 3-2, just gutting after leveling it twice and going mental, Chris Weale ruined another derby-day with a shite mistake. 11/12 - Hull: Lost 2-1 and just waiting for them to get their late goal, which they did. 11/12 - Brighton: Lost 1-0 and just waiting for them to get their late goal, which they did. Derby was the worst and I've only been to 25-30 away games and most are just shit.
Leicesterpool Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Loss to Blackpool in 07/08 season. Overall not a bad weekend, but the weather conditions was bad especially when your in an open to the elements. Dickov's last minute goal still haunts me, but three or four months later he signs for us again.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 With Leicester - Never had one was just excited seeing city but Swansea last year wasn't the best we didn't turn up to play. I was homesick, hungover and knew no one.
Walker Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Wolves away. 3-0 up only to lose 4-3. Absolutely incredible
Daggers Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Cheltenham with a fever was rum, at least the sun made the car hot to sleep in for a couple of hours. Oldham on train & crutches was an utter pain in the bollocks and left me with mighty blisters.
Zingari Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Wolves away. 3-0 up only to lose 4-3. Absolutely incredible ouch ! forgot about that one though i wasn't there, i can see that being quite painful Harlow for me , I can't imagine anything surpassing that night . Four of us riding back in the car and I don't think any of us spoke more than a few words to each other .
Leicester_Numan Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Pretty much all the away trips i've ever been on have been good, the only time i've nearly been attacked was at Plymouth 88-89. I was standing outside the toilets and this Plymouth plonker came over and started having a go, he was just about to hit me and the lads came out of the toilets. He suddenly found himself outnumbered and did a disappearing act. Lucky escape. The luckiest was the home game with Man Utd in 85-86. The six of us turned onto Burnmoor Street to go to the South Leicester club and there was a mass fight going on, police horses everywhere. We were missing drinking time so we walked right down the middle of the street and right through the middle of it all. We came out the other side and not one of us had been touched. Amazing. Even more amazing was Laurie Cunningham. 3-0 woo hoo
Bluetintedspecs Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Going Anfield on the Saturday and seeing us win after going to Exeter mid week and seeing us dumped out of FA Cup 3-0 both ends of spectrum
Guest Mee-9 Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Remember Forest 3-2 when we lost due to Weale in the last minute? That day was so hot, unbelieveably hot in the stand. Worst could have been palace last season. First game of the season, 3-0 down at half time, everyone saying we've been sold down the river with Sousa. Yeah we came back 3-2. Sousa took Neilson off, even when he was having a blinder, then there was a crash on the motorway. Left Selhurst park at 5:15, got back home (Leicester) at about 1am. Remember having a burger king at like 11pm. Oh, and the Coach driver took the piss.
wellyfox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 1982 FA Cup Semi-Final at Villa Park. We were giving Spurs a really good run for their money, when Ian Wilson somehow managed to lob Mark Wallington from abouts half way, and we never really recovered. Yeah and some fvcking arsehole tried to stab me through the fence at HT as we cued for a piss. I fvcking hate em now hope harry takes the England job they miss out on the CL. Oh and then go bust.
The Doctor Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Both trips to Forest (3-2 last season and 5-1 the season before), and Peterborough in L1. If you want to go on results, then I think the only away I've seen us get anything from was Peterborough in the play-off season.
Apollo Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Sheff Utd 2008 - 3-0 and down to ten men inside 20 minutes, and then got a parking ticket.
Matt Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 We drew 1-1 this season. Do you mean last season? I went this season and the game was very poor but there was a pub at the train station (and fortunately I didn't get chucked off) so it was all good up until kick off. Which is the story for most away games I go to! Yeah although I put 11/12 season, I meant last season.
Leicesterpool Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Burnley 2010-11 season loss 0-3, I think we only had two shots at goal all match. I remember thinking Sousa out after that performance even though It was only his third game in charge, overall it wasn't a bad weekend had a night out in Burnley what was fun, seeing a bunch up in the walkabout there was funny. Does anyone remember when somebody ran on the pitch at Burnley?
Gold Coast Fox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Hartlepool away (league 1 season) Had just landed at Heathrow the day before and my mates were going so i tagged along... Long trip, freezing weather, jet lag, horrid ground and the worst 2-2 draw I've ever seen. My first ever away game, Luton away (1-0 loss) was awful as well.
Guy Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 . Just thought i'd mention a couple of good away trips from the 89-90 season. Anyone remember our first away win at Stoke when they locked us in forever and we just carried on singing Jingle Bells? There were 6 of us that went to Plymouth, we walked into the Walrus pub, the barman pointed at us and said 3 pints of lager, 2 pints of bitter and a white wine. I said "how did you know that"? And he replied "I remember you all from last year". That's the only time that's happened to me on an away trip. Always nice when you're remembered for the right reasons. Shame about the game but we made up for it with a quick pub crawl afterwards Awesome, I live in Plymouth these days, we invariably lose to Argyle or sometimes sneak a draw with them! We had to rely on their Icelandic defender for the own goal assist two years back when we last played them for 1-1, I was there! I live about five minutes walk away from the Walrus. although I haven't been in there since it changed hands a while ago. The barman who served you twice either has too much time on his hands or a photographic memory!
Bayfox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 sure there is a similar thread somewhere, where i suggested getting out of maine road after a 1-0 win wasn't much fun and stoke away as a kid in the play-off semi scared me when the home end emptied and got about 30 yards from our end before the old bill stopped about 8000 of them getting anywhere near us would be up there. However, being 3-0 up at wolves at half time, guess you know the rest, having paid about £32 for a ticket, was just horrendous.
