Name the game

Have a book of poetry by a Brenda Page about the 2003-2004. One poem verse goes;

Today we are in disbelief

3-0 up and then we lose

Many fans now fear the worse

As they sit and count the cost.

Name the game. Clue,- poem written 28/10/03

No cheating.

Couldn't you have picked a game we'd feel good about, who wants to be reminded of that?

Maybe if we lose the next couple of games we could use it to wallow in our despair.

Glad I wasn't there.

One of the several leads we carelessly threw away that year.

How many points did we drop from winning positions?

I knew instantly (without cheating) as I was on a beach in teneriffe, after realising it was roughly half-time back home I went to check the score at the hotel. I returned to the beach happy in the knowledge that 3 points were in the bag as we were 3-0 up, safe to say I forgot about the game and was blissfully unaware of the second half events untill that is I checked the scores before leaving the hotel for my evening meal fully expecting 5 or 6, I couldnt believe my eyes, or the "useless second rate foreign journos" who were reporting 4-3 to wolves. It had to be a mistake, SURELY! :o:(

Wolves away. Was driving to The lakes. When I turned raido commentary off, we were three nil up. Thought everyone was having a laugh when we arrived and they told me we'd lost ! (Kids were in car, so had some blooming nonsense on for them hence no idea of score) .Still hurts.

What do people think was worse that Wolves result or drawing 3-3 with Middlesbrough after being 3-1 up in injury time?

Boro. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Didn't help that their equaliser was a bloody awful own goal from John Curtis

That was a horrendous game. Watched It on T V in a bar in Luang Prabang in Laos. There was one other City fan in the place, and we were loving it up to halftime. Oh the misery of that second half. The certainty slipping away. ****ing horrible. Had just about forgotten it. Thanks for that!

I don't like to talk about that match at all.

My best mate at the time was a Wolves fan. I kept winding him up during the first half. I was so convinced we'd on the 3 points. I was actually speechless by the end.

In the book the last poem is about losing/drawing too many games in the last ten minutes that year. Says Lady Luck deserted us that season.

We only needed Lady Luck

Why did she desert us, that Lady Luck?

We played well, we fought hard,

She was not on our side.

All the skill in the world means nothing.

If the breaks don't go your way

We had a gremlin, we had no luck.

But you were the stars,

You Leicester City players

And you gave so much.

I feel sad for you as the players

But remember,

We as the fans are here always

Maybe next season she will be here too.

Are you listening

LADY LUCK

Bit like this season I suppose.

It was a classic game at Wemberly

My legs were getting tremberley

The clock nearing one hundred twenty minute

But along came a bloke to fookin shin it
