Gallaghers Brother in law Twitter GAZSMITH2011

I wouldn't say Gally is the problem, he's very technically gifted and when he's told to retain the ball, he does.

He's a valuable asset to a team chasing promotion and I hope he stays, keeps fit and is available for rotation.

Wellens, however is the clown. Wellens out.

Because he gets booed before even coming on the pitch, you can't win, the fans that hate gallagher have and will always hate Gallagher he has singlehandedly won us games with his goals, but afterwards you will still get people moaining about him and his performance.

I don't blame him for leaving, if I was in his position I would, and to be honest if I was any of our other players watching the treatment he gets I wouldn't be suprised if some of them thought the same.

You can't expect players to be loyal when we can't even support our longest serving players, Gallagher, Wellens, Howard, have all had more stick than they deserve, to a lesser extent Dyer and King too. You want loyalty, then show some first.

True, we don`t support our players that well at times ( more often than not on internet forums etc rather than at the KP ), however, just remember these guys are well paid to play football. When they consistently dont perform, or dont appear to be giving what you or I would give if we wore the shirt, then damn right we should be critical of them!!

I dont necessarily blame Wellens or Gallacher more the manager at the time. There have been many ridiculous selection, particularly in midfield, be it Sven or NP. Wellens IS a good player, he needs to play in the right place with the right midfielders around him. Gallacher is a luxury. He doesnt track back enough and is too lightweight. In the Reading or Southampton team people would be creaming themselves over his passing / free kicks. In our disjointed team he doesnt fit.

10goals from midfield, second best goals to game ratio, set piece specialist, never missed a penalty at lcfc, long distance shooter, good accuracy, good passer, stays on his feet

To be frank, my first point out of thatlist made your question look silly anyway.

Now I have answered your question, please can you enlighten me as to how you plan on replacing his goals IF he does leave?

Set piece specialist? You mean his over hit or under hit set pieces we never score from? If you want to see a real set piece specialist, look at Ian Harte.

Gallagher backs out of challenges, is too lightweight, too inconsistent resulting in one good game every five.

Replacing what goals? He has 10 doesnt he? A decent winger who can score may be able to grab a few. I think you're trying to make something out of nothing, he isn't good enough.

I don't Reading have a player that has scored more than 15 goals this season.

Seriously I am ashamed to be associated with some of you. He has ten goals from midfield for the last two seasons. Even if you don't like him, even if he is not your favourite he in no way is the worst and he definielty does not deserve the criticism some people have given him. I personally like him as a player but even if I did not I genuinely cannot understand why there is so much genuine vitriol on here against him sometimes. I am loathe to have a go at some of you incase you have something genuinely wrong with you so if that's the case I will apologise now but my God some of you are idiotic. I find it hard to believe you can be so blind to the fact that he is clearly, CLEARLY, by a long way not the worst player in the squad. I can't be bothered to go on anymore so I'll stop now you fvcking cvnting bastarding morons.

Not good enough?

Not good enough for the mighty Leicester City who's highest finish since 2003/4 relegation from the Prem is a whopping 5th place in the 2nd flight, a task achieved with a Mr Gally in the team  which is a lot more than you can say for some of the johnny-come-latelys, on top of that his goal record from a midfield positions beats one forward & compares favourably with the other with starts taken into account.

David Nugent 40 starts 0 subs 15 goals 8 assists

Paul Gallagher 18 starts 10 subs 8 goals 3 assists

Jermain Beckford 31 starts 6 subs 8 goals 3 assists

Neil Danns 22 starts 7 subs 5 goals 2 assists

Lloyd Dyer 26 starts 8 subs 4 goals 2 assists

I think he needs to do better in some aspects of his game or be utilised in other roles by the manager, but the vitriol aimed at him, the sense of delusion and ignoring of facts is an absolute & total joke.

Below is how the matches were going when Gallagher scored his 10 goals so far.

Taking it from the top:

Rotherham (a) 1-0 down.

Bury (a) 2-1 down.

Burnley (a) 2-1 up.

Palace (h) 1-0 up, 2-0 up.

Peterborough (h) 0-0.

Ipswich (h) 1-0 down.

Cardiff (h) 0-0, 1-0 up.

Doncaster (h) 3-0 up.

So bar his second vs Palace and the one in his cameo at home vs Donny, all pretty important goals. If you're asking me every goal is important though, but if you're being picky.

Only 3 penalties in his 10 goals as well, so take them away if you're weird enough to not count a goal as a goal and he's on 7 in all comps. Still good for a midfielder who's been injured for large parts of the season.

Gallagher has had a total of 36 shots in the league resulting in 8 goals (roughly 1 in 4).

He's had 19 shots on target so he has a goals to shots on target ration of just over 1 in 2.

Of those 8 3 were Pens, so if we minus 3 shots and 3 goals his ratio becomes just over 1 in 6 and his goals to shots on target becomes 1 in 3.

To put in in context Nugent has had 105 shots and scored 15 goals (1 in 7)

Now I think Gallagher is a bag of wank as a player but I would say that people find fault where they want to see it and ignore it elsewhere (more than likely including myself) as a 'good' ratio for a striker is generally just below 1 in 8.

Oh and he has only committed 12 fouls, which means he's either excellent at tackling or a great big pussy who never challenges for the ball

Stats all stack up as Gally being one of the better players in our squad, stats never tell a whole story but they do indicate contribution.

  • He the 2nd top scorer in the league.
  • Has the highest goals per start ratio
  • Has the highest goals per shot ratio

And as for people saying he backs out of tackles? So! he's a technical player, he chases back and presses which forces the early pass it's what almost all technical players do

People saying he's lazy, **** off... it's just the sheep mentality of the hivemind kicking in and people criticise stuff they haven't even seen or listen to some inbred knuckledragger on the phone-in and believe what they say to be true.

Personally I think he should be playing off the frontman maybe in a 4-4-1-1, he'd pick up far more & in the right area of the pitch to have a long shot that the fickle bunch love to cheer or just dink a through-ball, he wouldn't have to track back pressing opposition's fullbacks. Scoring 1 in every 3 shots is amazing, and brining him to the right area of the pitch is something that should have happened long ago, rather than persisting with this pathetic sham of a partnership that hasn't even looked like working apart from when Forest forgot how to defend for a game.

Actually, no. I think he should leave, go to a club not populated with deluded cvnts for fans.

No, this isn't me championing him, or becoming a Gally bummer or whatever term you want to use for someone who see's things slightly differently, I care little about whether he's in the team or not, but from the players available I think he should be. there are areas to improve of course his corners are almost always poor, his free kicks often are too, what baffles me is why is no one else in the team taking them, it's not his fault he's been given something to do all the time where others may be better. Hounding players out of clubs by taking a season of frustration out on an individual is ridiculous...

Yes, it's all Gallgher's fault that the defence has leaked all season, yes it's all Gallagher's fault that the other 10 players can only be bothered to turn up when the opposition is above them in the table, yes it's all Gallagher's fault that he's had to play half his games with a back injury because the squad was that unbalanced, Yes, it's Gallagher's fault we've had so many reds and subsequent suspensions to limit team selection. Yes, it's all Gallagher's fault that the stand-in captain stupidly got himself banned for 4 games when all the other CMs were injured and we actually had the real chance of making the playoffs..... Yes, it's all Gallagher's fault, everything!

This witch hunt, which started with booing Beckford earlier in the season, moved to Wellens around the middle & has finished up on Gallgher needs to stop. It's the most counter-productive thing anyone can do.

Win as a team, loose as a team... Boo the team for poor performances, sing the names of the players that have done well.

Those stats together are pretty conclusive to how effective Gallagher can be. As we know he is in average form, in an inconsistent team and his criticism has been overly unfair.

This is why I hate social media at times.

I completely disagree with anyone who feels that they are entitled to voice their 'opinions' to the family of Paul about his performance in the GAME of football in such a manner. These 'opinions' are often an excuse just to hurl abuse at them and Gally because it is an easy thing to do when you're hiding behind a computer or phone. Just like any of us would for someone we are related to and care about, there is a threshold of how much sh*t you can take on the chin and ignore. So when his in-laws do react, why should people be surprised? They have every right to defend their family member from the unnecessary stick, especially if they're seeing lies brandished around too (like Gally not committed to the club, and that he's fell out with NP). It's a sad state of affairs when football 'fans' are going out of their way, outside of matches, to seek arguments and confrontation with people close to a player. He's obviously not going out there with the intention of playing poorly, and for the record, I think there are players that have performed MUCH worse recently. Yes, it might have been frustrating after the Burnley match because it sealed our fate as a championship team next year, as well as our recent poor TEAM performances, but no one can justify abusing individual(s) because of it.

when someone joins twitter , they deserve all they get ,theyve put themselves up for target practice .why would gallys family go on twitter ? not to expect lcfc fans to comment ? get real , they shouldnt be on twitter if they cant take stick . are you stupid ?

Good afternoon. I ranted a little earlier as I was rather miffed and jolly well annoyed! Genuine question this time. To anyone who booed or agrees with the booing or constantly slags off Gally - If, within your work, your colleagues booed and harassed you and constantly put you down and then slagged off your partner (I understand that a lot of you probably don't have partners as you are clearly mentally deficient but go with me) but according to the company stats you were in the top five performers at the firm would you be a little miffed? If you went to your boss and said "I actually have the second highest sales in the firm, I have helped out colleagues close three deals and I feel that, whilst of course I can improve. I am definitely not the worst performer in the firm and don't really deserve this" how would you feel if your bosses reply was thus:

"Yeah but like I fink you look lazeh and I dunt like ya. The other worker, watzizname, he hasn't sold a fing but he runs around a lot and I like his face. Boooooooooooooooo. Booooooooooooooooo. Booooooooooooooooooooooo."

Would you feel his assessment and criticism were fair and adult or would you think he was a disabled munching, cvnt with less brains than an ape who probably secretly liked to w@nk over pictures of himself?

Anyone, fvck off all of you naughty boys! I'm tellin' my Mum!

what?

Hayley should be on Twitter to talk to her friends or promote her events business?

Her brother should be on Twitter?

Initially he passed comment on something which affects someone in his family... seems the knuckledraggers can give it out, but couldn't take an innocent Tweet so turned it abusive

I don't understand, what you're saying.

You wouldn't say you shouldn't walk down the street if you can't take stick from braindead ****** would you?

Or perhaps you would, I don't know.

It's usually the morons spouting abuse that can't take it when it's given back to them.

A read of this thread pretty much sums up what is so ****ed up about our Football club and so many other clubs at the moment.

Footballers with overblown egos... hangers on using them for micro fame... idiotic rude fans with no respect for anyone or anything... social networks poisoning the atmosphere.

This post hasn't had enough attention. SPOT on. I don't care for this "but the 20k a week should cushion the blow bullshit" harrassment and criticism, especially when its mostly unjust would grind many of us down.

That is absolutely absurd. Yes, social media opens them up to interaction from ANYONE around the world, but it doesn't mean they are 'fair game' to abuse. That's ridiculous. Here's some common sense for you, seeing as you seem to be lacking it, they have probably joined twitter to interact with friends, family, and follow people they are interested in just like all of us who use it too. I doubt they thought 'hey here's an idea, lets join twitter JUST to interact with football fans and engage in pointless arguments'. Feel free to drop your twitter handle in this thread mate, so everyone can use you for 'target practice'. Like you said, if you can't take the stick then you shouldn't be on it. Right? Idiot.
