No one has said Beckford can't do better, but your assertion that he was shit last season is bollocks. He was average but has the potential to do really well. That's the majority view. You and a couple of others bang on about him like obsessed school kids. Why not realize that you've made your point and move on. If you're right the season will prove it. We all KNOW how you feel about him. Ouch! But harsh...

Isn't it getting a bit boring stating the LEAGUE goals and not including cup, which simply doesn't support your argument very well, to justify your criticism of Beckford?? If anyone has anything negative to say about Pearson then unless it's substantiated with a signed statement from 3 independent witnesses then it's just not valid - but you use completely different rules in your own criticism of JB?? I'm afraid I do tend to agree with the final paragraph to some extent. Babs defence of successive managers and condemnation of any criticism of them does appear to be slightly bizarre. Then again, a lot of what Babs says I agree completely with.

First off the poll had pathetically limited answers. For instance, I didn't even vote because the answer I would have chosen wasn't even there. If he was still here at the start of the season I would start him, but I don't think he's great. So instantly anyone thinking he should start in that poll is also lumped into the category of thinking he is great. A player who is one of your highest paid players (if not the highest) only getting 9 league goals is worse than average in my book. Ian Hume got more than that, Fryatt got more than that for us... at fraction of the cost I would wager. Their returns were average as was our outlay on them. You should perhaps look back and see who I have challenged, and I would bet they haven't said "rumour", they have said it as fact!!!! How many points did his cup goals get us? The owners bought him to get us to the premier league, not to score against Swindon and a shit depleted Forest team so we can get knocked out in the quarter finals. So far his return on their investment, an investment to reach the premier has been a failure. We did spend a lot on him, we still are spending a lot on him, and his performances have been poor value for that money.
