Harry - LCFC Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 In league one. A place Portsmouth are heading (albeit because of a points deduction) and yet Futacs couldn't get a regular place in the first team - not very impressive
Leicester_Loyal Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Beckford ain't going anywhere mate, I've said it before and been shot down, but I'm not lying, so I'll say it again, my brother works at the club as an accountant, he knows a lot of the goings on inside the club. From what he has said, Beckford is very popular with the players and staff, always smiling, having a joke etc. add to that he works very hard at his game and is happy here himself. Thats good to hear, thanks mate.
Toffee_Fox Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 rubbish hope its not true It is true, was at the training ground today, how far along it is, I have no idea.
jock2612 Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Think that if this goes through Schlupp will go on loan to Sheffield Utd.
foxfanazer Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Hopefully the boo boys give him a chance but no doubt they've made their minds up about him already
Tielemans63 Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Did Toffee Fox actually say that Futacs is the player in question? Or are we all just jumping to conclusions?
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 thanks Toffee_Fox for the info as said already....a good young replacement for Howard imo. gives us that presence up there if we need to go with "some force"
Simo86 Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Did Toffee Fox actually say that Futacs is the player in question? Or are we all just jumping to conclusions? Toffee Fox @FoxToffee Incoming…Incoming…#lcfc Toffee Fox @FoxToffee Marko Futacs is in talks with the club, striker and free agent from Pompey
cc_star Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Why would it mean Beckford is going, Howard's presence on the bench never meant Beckford is going. Think Waggy could be sold, Hopper & Schlupp (when fit) loaned & we'll pick from Nuge, Vardy, Beckford & Fuctas depending on form & of course the opposition.
Babylon Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 A place Portsmouth are heading (albeit because of a points deduction) and yet Futacs couldn't get a regular place in the first team - not very impressive So Fuctas isn't impressive because he hasn't scored goals in league one for a team not in league one? People keep screaming that Beckford would have scored loads more had we been a better team. Does the same not apply to Fuctas who was playing in a team considerably poorer than us? Annnnnnnnnyway, been there done that. Very happy to give the bloke a chance to impress, he's young and something VERY different to what we've had for a while.
Libertine Dream Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Ill give him a chance as long as it isnt hoof ball to him

Fair enough, I agree that he probably would've done better in a better team. But I would expect a good player to be making more than 29 appearances for a team in the bottom half.
Toffee_Fox Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Did Toffee Fox actually say that Futacs is the player in question? Or are we all just jumping to conclusions? He is the player, sorry it couldn't be ground breaking news, but thats all I have!
Babylon Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 But I would expect a good player to be making more than 29 appearances for a team in the bottom half. He's here to replace Howard nothing more, is he a step up from him? Probably, because he can actually move, so we've improved the plan B.
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 regards the striking options next season, think it might well be Nug,Beckford,Waggy & Fuctas. with Schlupp probably going on loan.
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 He is the player, sorry it couldn't be ground breaking news, but thats all I have! Any sort of news from a source we know that has been reliable in the past is always welcome imo
artursteppe Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 I bet half the people knocking this 22 year old youngster for not scoring enough goals think the sun shone out of Steve Howard's fox hole!
foxfanazer Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Ill give him a chance as long as it isnt hoof ball to him Wouldn't be his fault if we did that
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 He's here to replace Howard nothing more, is he a step up from him? Probably, because he can actually move, so we've improved the plan B. Alright have been partly convinced by what you've said, he is a step up from Howard. I just can't imagine him being anything special for us whereas some people seem have labelled him an "excellent signing" already.
NewburyFox Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 regards the striking options next season, think it might well be Nug,Beckford,Waggy & Fuctas. with Schlupp probably going on loan. Hopper out on loan too hopefully, think it's time for him to play first team football at a lower level.
MrSpaM Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 He's here to replace Howard nothing more, is he a step up from him? Probably, because he can actually move, so we've improved the plan B. I thought hoofing the ball up to our forwards was our plan A
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Hopper out on loan too hopefully, think it's time for him to play first team football at a lower level. can see that happening....with Hopper going to a league 2 club
artursteppe Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 I still reckon 4-3-3 and Marco will be brought on when we need to make a change of approach from the bench. Schlupp will go on loan, probably to Sheff Utd. The front three will be chosen from:- Beckford, Nugent, Marshall, Vardy, Waghorn and Gallagher if they both stay. If we switch to 4-4-2 with Futacs, the best scorer will stay with him and this could bring Dyer off the bench onto the wing. I now think there is a distinct possibility of Futacs and Chester at Leicester with Heskey and Bramble at Hull. Guesswork, not ITK.
Babylon Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 I thought hoofing the ball up to our forwards was our plan A I don't think it's meant to be... but you'd be forgiven for thinking so half the time.
Corky Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 I thought hoofing the ball up to our forwards was our plan A It's not, we just spend so much time passing the ball across the defence that the opposition are nicely settled into position ready for our "creative" midfield. We then realise there isn't the space to pass through them so we launch it in the air.
