Maynard to Cardiff

Good signing that, if it goes through.

Although we had our long drawn out transfer saga with him last summer, it doesn't change the fact he's a quality striker. Cardiff are going to be very strong this year.

But it is ridiculous, doubt West Ham will do Carroll any good either, just when it looked like we might have another possible world class striker for England :rolleyes:

I wonder what the loan fee will be for Carroll? It was £2million at their first attempt.

I can't see really how it can further Carroll's career too much, he'll probably do well under Big Sam's direct style but he'll end up being pigeon holed and won't develop his game.

Nice sarcastic reply... I don't know, I don't follow his career. But he's been at Arsenal, City and Reading, all of which had fantastic goalkeepers which I doubt he would get in front of. Tried a loan move at Cardiff which didn't work, but I know he's had some injuries, just like Kirkland who has played around the same number of games. Shame, because both had decent potential.

You don't follow his career but you knows most of the clubs he's been at and also know what keepers they had at the time hence the reason he couldn't get in ahead of them.

Sometimes I think certain goalkeepers are happy just to pick up a wage every week knowing that they will only get 5/10 games a season maximum. Conrad Logan, Stuart Taylor, Ross Turnbull spring to mind.

Looking at QPR's forums, the general consensus is worry, not excitement.

Can see them "doing a Portsmouth" in 5 years time.

Cesar/Granero/Bosingwa will be on stupid money, for a team that can't generate much income (only 11k ST holders)

Charlie Adam having medical at Stoke. I hate Stoke but like Adam, and he would be a good signing for them, no doubt.

Brendan Rodgers really doesn't seem to like too many of Dalglish's signings.

Carroll on loan. Adam poss to Stoke, tried to ship Henderson out as part of a deal for Clint Dempsey and Downing consigned to the bench and offering to play at left-back just to get a game.

Aston Villa agreed a fee with Fulham for Dempsey. Why on gods earth would he want to go there?

Exactly why I was thinking. Fulham are a much better prospect than villa, who in my opinion could go down this season. Apparently Paul Lambert knows nothing about it though
