glenny_fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 October seems the easiest month. I'd say the middle of November to the middle of December, is the easiest stretch of games.
cc_star Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 November I would hazard a guess is a make or break month, 4 away games to tough opposition. The start isn't any better, Posh often seem to get a result & then a run of games against practically every rival starting with 2 away. The plus side is that if we can get results then we'll be flying, but I don't see where we can build momentum... Then no doubt people will be calling to change the manager again & the whole process starts again
pSinatra Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Some tough away games to start the season, but home games we would like to think we could get some decent results

NP has got a mountain of a job ahead of him, looking at our squad we are weak in a couple of position namely the wing positions and the central midfield.
Fox92 Posted 18 June 2012 Author Posted 18 June 2012 Hull away always seems to be around December time. Recall us winning at the KC on Boxing Day a few years back as well. Pretty decent fixtures, tough start. A few attractive away games are sadly Tuesday nights, but we can't have them all on a Saturday!
Libertine Dream Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Could it have been any tougher. Still if we get off to a flyer then we'll be set excellently but if we don' then it will be a long season. At least xmas is favourable
Lamby Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 These are our tuesday night aways that I won't be doing now as they're on a tuesday: Derby Leeds Cardiff I don't know how easy it is to get back from Leicester on a tuesday either
deepbluedevil Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 FFS Forest away on the last day. That's an accident waiting to happen...
TrentFox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Early away games at Blackburn and Wolves are good in my mind - they'll have lots of new players to bed in following relegation and the inevitable squad upheaval and it's as good a time to go there as any.

Is this coincidence or planned?? Ou game against Cardiff is a Saturday but on FA cup 4th round day so will likely end up on......
Grey Fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 The start isn't any better, Posh often seem to get a result & then a run of games against practically every rival starting with 2 away. The plus side is that if we can get results then we'll be flying, but I don't see where we can build momentum... Then no doubt people will be calling to change the manager again & the whole process starts again I totally agree with this. It's a really tough start (apart from Posh on paper). It's all about building momentum in the first 3 games, then 6 games, then 10 games. Look at Southampton last year, QPR the year before. Those that get off to good starts rarely look back. They gain so much confidence that they manage to roll onwards from there. Us on the other hand over the last two season got off to poor starts, then the reverse happened, a negative feedback loop took hold, with poor results/performances meaning the fans getting on players and managers backs, the manager eventually getting sacked, and so on and so on, and the seasons were wasted before Christmas. I don't want to be negative, but if we don't get 12 points from the first 6 or so games then I can see it all happening again. That's why I was hoping for a first few games like the October fixtures, so we could build momentum before taking on any main rivals. All that said, if we beat them all there will be no stopping us, come on!
Len Finsbury Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Whoever's responsible for producing this year's fixture list has forgotten to include the 'easy' games!
AKCJ Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Why is the season finishing so early this season again? I could understand last season because of the EURO's and the Olympics.. Is it because the Olympics finishes late?
Dan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Happy with first game, it's no top away but it's a very winnable home game and I'd imagine they'll bring a 3k, you can picture a solid 2-0 win. Charlton and Blackburn are a bit of a sickener, they're both big ones for me but I feel with them being 4 days apart they'll cancel each other out where I thought we'd arguably take 3k+ to both, bet we still manage 2k at both. 4 new grounds for me in the first 4 weeks of the season. Cannot believe Forest, in a serious dilemma about that one. It's a complete waste of a class fixture if there's nowt to play for but if there is you could be talking dream-like stuff. Hull away on boxing day I called, happy with that (in the minority there). Didn't get lucky with the NW games yet again.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 November I would hazard a guess is a make or break month, 4 away games to tough opposition. November is far too early to be a 'make or break month'... Feb is the key for me.. Wolves/Blackburn could well be up there with us? We need to beat these teams at home at that stage of the season to stand much of a chance. Potentially....
Danno Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Fvck sake not another home game i miss in August due to being on holiday.

August/September has been make or break month for the past couple of seasons, with it being a done deal by October (exit stage left Sousa & Sven)

Corky Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Home game is good, can't be any worse than the first one last season , then two contrasting aways. Glad personally that we are away on Boxing Day.

Corky Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Last time we had Peterborough at home first game we were promoted (1993/94). Last time we had Forest away final game they were relegated (1998/99). Hopefully a repeat this year
Dan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 LCFC not done a special background with all the fixtures on this year?
