davieG Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Favourites Leicester face daunting early Championship fixtures Foxes face two relegated Premier League outfits in first two months of the season Whilst Championship favourites Leicester should overcome Peterborough at the King Power Stadium on the opening day of next season, their following month features a concentration of tough fixtures, which could dishearten punters backing the 6/1 shots. After kicking off against Darren Ferguson’s gung-ho outfit, Nigel Pearson’s men face trips to newly-promoted Charlton, along with recently-relegated Blackburn, who are 14/1 fancies to claim the title. Beaten playoff finalists Blackpool come next for the Foxes, and a trip to Molineux in the aftermath of that clash means the difficulty of their fixtures doesn’t dwindle. Home ties with Burnley and Hull also won’t be straightforward, and a trip to Middlesbrough, tipped in some circles as dark horses at 16/1, rounds off a tricky opening couple of months for Leicester. Maybe we'll end up not being favourites which is a bit silly anyway.
Father Ted Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Cracking fixture list imo! Forest away on the last?! Wow... so much potential. Leeds on a Tuesday night, thats fine. Charlton, Huddersfield and Bolton the other 3 tuesday nights, for me Charlton is still in the holidays. Huddersfield isn't too much of a trek. Not too sure about Bolton.
Grey Fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Last time we had Peterborough at home first game we were promoted (1993/94). Last time we had Forest away final game they were relegated (1998/99). Hopefully a repeat this year For those saying we will have nothing to play for by the last game. I don't call completing 100 points and 100 goals and relegating forest in their own back yard nothing to play for.
BHAFC Braders Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Another Tuesday night jobbie up to your gaff then ... ah well.
RonnieTodger Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Pissed off about the amount of good games on a tuesday. Bolton, Huddersfield, Charlton and Leeds. Will try to do Bolton and Huddersfield at least. Meanwhile, Coventry start away to Yeovil
MrFox781 Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Brighton in April!!! Glad about that one, froze to death last time.
smudger63 Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Hull away on Boxing Day We will probably have Steve Bruce as our manager by then.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 How are we favourites? Fook knows! I ain't betting on us.....
whoareyaaa Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 This seasons leagues looks a lot tougher than last season. can see Birmingham slipping down now they have lost Houghton but im sure it will be another tight season with everyone beating each other.
kingfox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Our home games up until about October/November look pretty comfortable and are all winnable. It's our away games which look seriously tough in the first part of the season, Charlton, Blackburn, Bolton, Huddersfield, Birmingham seriously tough. Cannot wait though, hoping to go to more away games this season.
EcclesallOwl Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Can't believe I've got to wait until March to visit the KPS
Soar Fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Can't believe I've got to wait until March to visit the KPS You won't be missing out on much. Expect to hear "give us a good Pre-season and next year we will get automatic promotion" around the ground.
Tom17LCFC Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Living in Nottingham, Forest away on the last day is absolute heaven!!!
ealingfox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Feeling very pessimistic looking at these games now. I see another 9th place finish tbh.
Reynard Bleu Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Tough as ever. This is always such a hard division to escape from (upwards), 6 new teams 3 of which will want to return to the Prem at first ask, lots of others who fancy their chances too. We are going to have to find a consisitency that has eluded us for a long time. I'm sure NP will prepare the team well, they need to really want this promotion, want it so bad they will bleed a bit to get it. Be nice to get a good start, set our stall out and be so hard to beat. Really looking forward to the season now, its also usually a sign for better weather!!
ealingfox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Might get an 'Ealingfox's pessimistic bus' going, anyone interested?

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 How is it possible to get Charlton away the month BEFORE I move down south? Highlight away game of the season down the drain, although I might still take the trip down.
Mack Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 How is it possible to get Charlton away the month BEFORE I move down south? Highlight away game of the season down the drain, although I might still take the trip down. If a trip to the valley is the highlight of your season I'd imagine open day at the Stobart depot near Daventry sends you over the edge!?
brockmyster Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 On a purely selfish note pissed off about Burnley & Blackburn being when they are, but apart from that pretty decent set of fixtures
Lamby Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Thought you said charlton were having to play their first few home fixtures away because of the olympics ? It was being said, but as the break between the Olympics and Paralympics we can play at home 2nd game as the policing won't be an issue.
Corky Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Feeling very pessimistic looking at these games now. I see another 9th place finish tbh. What things did you expect that didn't come up?
