The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 7 years ago today 52 people lost their lives at the hands of Islamic terrorists. RIP Never forget, no surrender
Fox92 Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Yeah, time goes fast doesn't it? Never forget any of the horrible terrorist attacks we've seen down the years around the World, including 7th July attacks on London. Sadly I don't think it's the last time we will see an attack in England, and 7/7 itself could have been a lot worse. RIP everyone connected
Guest Bilo Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Never before has a city experienced such a contrast in emotions. From the incredible scenes of joy on July 6th 2005, the day London was awarded the 2012 Olympics, to one of its saddest and most terrifying since the Blitz of the Second World War in less than 24 hours. It makes this seventh anniversary, the year London finally gets the reward it was given in 2005, all the more poignant. Thankfully, the regular incidents that looked feasible when another attack failed a fortnight later have not materialised and London remains one of the world's great cities. A genuine tragedy though that should be remembered.
Nick Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 7 years ago today 52 people lost their lives at the hands of Islamic terrorists. RIP Never forget, no surrender I didn't realise there was talk of surrendering. Are you certain about the 'Islam' part?
Super_horns Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Why do you think this isn't remembered in quite the same way at 9/11...just simply because it wasn't live on TV and less people lost their lives?
Nick Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 I think the Americans struggle to 'let things go' for a variety of reasons and have a diary of injustice which is there to justify further foreign policy decisions as much as to remember the fallen.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 July 2012 Author Posted 7 July 2012 I didn't realise there was talk of surrendering. Are you certain about the 'Islam' part? There's not but thats what the Islamic terrorists want.
Fox92 Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 I know terrorist attacks happened before 9/11 (in fact, the World Tade Center was attacked in the 90's), but 9/11 itself was the first massive attack, in my opinion, and put terrorism back on the map. Hearing about "a plane crashing into the World Trade Center" was on the radio, but then watching it unfold was unreal for everyone. I think the World was in shock, and it's the terrorist attack everyone refers too. But 9/11 and 7/7 were equally tragic, no doubt about it. It is sad that a lot of people don't recognize 7/7 attacks... I wonder how many people know it is today, where as on 9/11 it's the whole "it's September 11th today".
MooseBreath Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 I guess making a big deal out of it makes it look as though the terrorists won and that those kind of attacks are very damaging to us, which probably increases the risk of a repeat.
Guest MattP Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Can't some people just keep their mouths shut ffs? He said "No Surrender". So what? No surprise it's Nick as usual, he's have a moan at something at his own mothers funeral. RIP to all those who perished, I didn't know anyone personally but I worked with a guy who lost a relative and he still struggles with it today, a senseless tragedy committed by those who have no business being in a liberal Western way of life.
Guest MattP Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 There's not but thats what the Islamic terrorists want. Don't even bother Stu, he literally crawls through thread on this forum (and god knows how many others) trying to pick up on things like this.
Tom17LCFC Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Is there no minutes silence scheduled for today or something? I think there should have been, tragic day.

Agree with this, slightly disrespectful in the thread anyway. If he can't be bothered why does he make a post stating that? RIP to those killed, thoughts are with the families affected.

I know. I'm not rising to it. Still, at least he's not told me to get over it in this thread
leicsmac Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Remember those who died 7 years ago. RIP. As for the whole 'no surrender' thing...are we really at war, because unless I'm mistaken that's what this implies? This was just a group of fanatic nutjobs who thought their perverted view of their religion gave them cause to murder innocent people. This wasn't an act of war...it was murder by a group of lunatics. But of course this shouldn't be a day for why's and wherefores...we should remember the victims.
21st Century Fox Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 I was in London that day, having just got off a flight from Amsterdam. It was really surreal, parts of the city that would usually have been busy were totally desolate and there were police everywhere. Bizarre. Also Nick hasn't just shat in a condolence book, he questioned a perplexing remark.
Apollo Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 I think 9/11 is bigger purely because of the amount of deaths, 3000 to 52 in London. Very tragic events though. RIP to all.
Haydos Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 My birthday today and my mums is September 11th. Weird. RIP. Really doesn't seem like 7 years.
Fox92 Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 My birthday today and my mums is September 11th. Weird. RIP. Really doesn't seem like 7 years. Two significant dates. Happy birthday
stripeyfox Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 No surrender is a moronic comment, particularly in this context
MikeyT Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 Watched a BBC documentary about that day a few nights ago. Interviews with the families of people lost and with the survivors and emergency services. RIP to all those innocent people.
Rincewind Posted 7 July 2012 Posted 7 July 2012 The ones responsible are not supported by the majority of those that follow Islam in the same way football hooligans are not supported by the majority of football supporters.. Football hooligans are just hooligans Islamic terrorists are just terrorists. Once people accept that then maybe people can get along with each other without the need for pigeon holing. I could not care less about the religion I care about the type of person an individual is.
