Leicesterpool Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Dickov on his return? Dire. First time round? Class. He didn't get many games when he returned.
wakeyfox01 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 He didn't get many games when he returned. There's a reason
Westlife Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Maybe Wayne Brown is available too?! I can't see this happening, otherwise we may as well go for Fryatt too . . . Bring them all back I say!
kingfox Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Maybe Wayne Brown is available too?! I can't see this happening, otherwise we may as well go for Fryatt too . . . Bring them all back I say! Might aswell get Sergio Hellings back aswell then. On wikipedia it says he has scored four goals in zero games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergio_Hellings He is a phenom
Westlife Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 Oh lord, another of Martin Allen's transfer policy . . . "can you kick a ball? No? Your in . . ."
Bettsj2 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 you're wrong and you know you are. I'm not wrong and you're starting to believe me. You know i'm right about that.

Dan Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 He didn't get many games when he returned. Because he was dire.
paulsherwood1 Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Why on earth would we want Hobbs back??? He is nowhere near as good as st ledger or Morgan. Did anyone see the live game vs west ham last season? Hobbs was turned inside out all game! It showed him for what he is... An average championship player. Why do u think he plays for hull and not a prem team!!!
Mark_w Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Why on earth would we want Hobbs back??? He is nowhere near as good as st ledger. ...
paulsherwood1 Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Hobbs was a very good league 1 player, and a classic average championship player, which is why he has only played for two average championship teams. Why would we go backwards anymore?
muzzy1981 Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Pearson bought Hobbs for a decent price to sure up a shakey defence at Hull, the signing of Chester was the real coup as he def has prem potential. I would have thought he will go for someone similar to Chester inexperienced but wig bags of potential, just like Marshall, James and Drinkwater de laet
Babylon Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Hobbs was a very good league 1 player, and a classic average championship player, which is why he has only played for two average championship teams. Why would we go backwards anymore? Yeah and St Ledger has played for loads of great teams. Hobbs was poor under Sven, but the lad won player of the season in a very tight defence, and was also part of a tight defence at Hull. Where as St Ledger was part of a shit defence that got relegated with Preston, a shit defence here and for some reason seems to be hero worshiped by a section of fans for a string of particularly average displays here.
MattyFromLE Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 More 'backwards' talk More 'negatve' / 'deluded' talk.
Babylon Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 More 'backwards' talk More backwards talk about a time we were actually much further forward than we are now.
Out Foxed Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 Yeah and St Ledger has played for loads of great teams. Where as St Ledger was part of a shit defence that got relegated with Preston, a shit defence here and for some reason seems to be hero worshiped by a section of fans for a string of particularly average displays here. it boggles the mind.
foxfanazer Posted 15 July 2012 Posted 15 July 2012 More backwards talk about a time we were actually much further forward than we are now. I'm way too hungover to make sense of that

I agree with this. I still don't think we will be strong enough in defence with what we have now. I think we certainly need another centre half, and I expect they will play at the expense of St Ledger, not Morgan. If St Ledger doesn't like that then he may end up being sold as well, and then a further replacement will be needed. I hope he stays and fights for his place though, but that's up to him and Nigel.

How the hell was St Ledger better than Hobbs? St Ledger isn't a bad defender but that's as far as I'll go, for a first team regular? We can do better. Hobbs hardly ever let us down, he wasn't faultless but he was going from strength to strength, much like our team at the time. A change in manager seemed to completely shatter his confidence. I just don't get why so many (I'm not singling you out on purpose) seem to think players like St Ledger, Peltier etc... are so amazing when our defence was total shit for a lot of the season, Hobbs was better for us than any single one of our current centre halves and you can add Bamba/Mills to that list too. (Although I like Morgan)

Hobbs and Morgan, although perhaps lacking a bit of speed? would make a great centre back pairing.

I just don't get it, Peltier & St Ledger, don't get me wrong they're not horrendous but certain players are absolutely worshipped, it's all subjective and everyone's got their own opinion which is fair enough, but I can't believe the amount of people who prefer players who've let us down more, who cost us more.
