Mark_w Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Players don't become bad just because they re-join their old clubs, any link is probably down to players only moving back down to their old clubs when they're old because they're past it or because the expectations put on them are too great.
chavdonk Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 How many of them players you all mentioned moved to a higher level then came back all of them. Where did Hobbs go... Hull City hardly a massive step up is it compared with Fabregas to Barcelona. your comparing fabregas leaving barca for arsenal then going back there with hobbs leaving leicester for hull city and a possible return? get a grip
chavdonk Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 You wouldnt have Mark Davies, Tom Cleverly or Jay Spearing back then? They were all loan spells its hardly the same thing is it
Craig Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 your comparing fabregas leaving barca for arsenal then going back there with hobbs leaving leicester for hull city and a possible return? get a grip You're* Right, where do I start? Secondly, how can you compare Fabregas leaving a bigger club for a smaller club playing at a similar level for first team action, only to then return to the bigger club? No idea. You get an education, I'll get a grip.
oxford blue Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 I can't see any club wanting to sign a player with a cruciate ligament injury and out for at least half a season. If we're looking about previous players, I'd like to see Ben Mee back. Burnley are far more likely to sell than Hull.
Fox92 Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 How many footballers have successful second stints at previous clubs? Not someone i'd be looking at Pique?
Jace Posted 12 July 2012 Posted 12 July 2012 Ahhh I forgot he tried to return! Here's another that springs to mind
Bettsj2 Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Ahhh I forgot he tried to return! Here's another that springs to mind In fairness to Guppy, I remember him not being all that bad, it was just the rest of the team at that point was bloody awful. Dickov was a massive mistake. I couldnt believe how shit he looked even in League 1.
foxfanazer Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 In fairness to Guppy, I remember him not being all that bad, it was just the rest of the team at that point was bloody awful. Dickov was a massive mistake. I couldnt believe how shit he looked even in League 1. Dickov was quality, great partnership with Brian Deane
Out Foxed Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 In fairness to Guppy, I remember him not being all that bad, it was just the rest of the team at that point was bloody awful. Dickov was a massive mistake. I couldnt believe how shit he looked even in League 1. well your memory must not be very good. he was awful.
ealingfox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Dickov was quality, great partnership with Brian Deane That was the first time around, in his second spell (2008-2010), he was awful.
foxfanazer Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 That was the first time around, in his second spell (2008-2010), he was awful. To be honest I forgot he came back
Ricey Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 In fairness to Guppy, I remember him not being all that bad, it was just the rest of the team at that point was bloody awful. Dickov was a massive mistake. I couldnt believe how shit he looked even in League 1. To be fair to Dickov as well, he had constant injury problems and when he did play, Pearson brought him on for the last 15 minutes on the wing. He was never a winger.
Leicesterpool Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Lets bring him back I can see a huge partnership coming with St Ledger and Hobbs!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Hobbs cant be any worse than Mills? . . . . . . . .
Legend fox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 hobbs and Wes = Solid no nosence Defending will do me.
Fox92 Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Dickov's goal against Colchester, I think it was, was quality.
Guest nathan. Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Hobbs cant be any worse than Mills? . . . . . . . . I remember watching Mills and thinking why the hell are you worth 4x more the Hobbs. Getting rid of him was a big mistake especially at that age.
whoareyaaa Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Hobbs is too slow and gets turned way to easily, but no doubt this could happen.
Bettsj2 Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 well your memory must not be very good. he was awful. No mate, your memory isn't very good. He was alright.
Out Foxed Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 No mate, your memory isn't very good. He was alright. you're wrong and you know you are.
GingerrrFox Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Wouldn't be mad if Hobbsy came back felt it was wrong to sell him in the first place but I think its highly unlikely he returns...
Webbo Posted 13 July 2012 Posted 13 July 2012 Hobbs was a terrific prospect. But when have Bentleys been right about anything?
foxes4e4 Posted 14 July 2012 Posted 14 July 2012 moved on from Jack Hobbs and any other ex players. i hope so
