Rincewind Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 I sort of agree. Maybe they should put him in solatary with a video loop of the victims funerals and a noose hanging from the ceiling and see how many years he does of his sentence. But to execute him would not change what has happened.
ADK Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 But what if these people have a mental illness? What if the illness is either treatable now or in the future with medicine? I actually have more sympathy for such people than those who have commited murder for personal gain or manslaughter through deliberate reckless behaviour.
Rincewind Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 I just mean that if they top themselves I wont shed a tear but should be treated fairly in the meantime.
Frost Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 Three people are currently on death row in Colorado since it was reinstated in 1975. If he has no mental health issues he could well be the fourth. Wouldn't surprise me.
Voll Blau Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 The guy shot a baby in the face If he doesn't get put down, my faith in America will still be non existent So is your faith in Norway non-existent now?
StanSP Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 The guy shot a baby in the face If he doesn't get put down, my faith in America will still be non existent I don't mean to be rude and I know it's not the main principle of what this guy did, but what was a 3-month old baby doing at a Batman film screening? If I remember correctly, 10 died in the theatre. Am I missing something - did Holmes go in to different theatres or were there shootings outside the theatre too?

Have a look back in the thread, I've mentioned that children going to a midnight screening, or to be at a cinema there or there about is wrong. Whilst it shouldn't distract from an appalling act, it intrigues me what kind of parent does this.

Sorry mate, didn't mean to come across as ignorant to other comments - just that SpazticChicken's comment took my eye! I do agree about the parenting modes.
Fox92 Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 Feel free to fancy a famous person, or model, everyone does, but he was like obsessed... http://www.thesun.co...ley-Hazell.html THE maniac who shot dead 12 people at a Batman movie was obsessed with Sun Page 3 girl Keeley Hazell. James Holmes posed online with her picture before the slaughter in Aurora, Colorado, US. Keeley, 25, said: “I’m horrified.†Bet he watched her leaked video a few times
Jordan Posted 22 July 2012 Posted 22 July 2012 My aunt lives in a nearby town, and she told me that if she were to have gone to a midnight screening of any film, it wouldn't be at that theater. She said that theater isn't exactly in the greatest of neighborhoods (even though most of the Denver metro is pleasant and safe), and in the U.S., you can generally tell how ghetto a place is by how many little kids are out at a movie theater late at night. When you see toddlers and babies at the theater after midnight, you know you're in the hood. I actually called my aunt on Friday morning just to make sure both she and her neighbors--all huge fans of Nolan's Batman films--were OK. Thankfully, they were--her neighbors went to a nearby but different theater, and my aunt had a ticket to go with them but she stayed home. Had that theater sold out, I could see her neighbors going to the Century 16 as a backup plan. This disgusting act has devastated the Denver metro area, but it's also dominated the news all over the country. One of the saddest aspects of this is that everybody in this country knows exactly how things will play out in the wake of a mass murder because we've seen the same damn thing over and over and over again. And it never takes long for this to turn into an argument about gun control, but we can never have that argument in a civil manner here. As for Holmes, I'm not sure of the veracity of this, but I've read accounts from workers at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility that he is behaving menacingly, and that he is in solitary confinement partly due to this but also because many of the other inmates are promising to kill him if he is allowed amongst the general population.

Theatre. No, actually, cinema.

Jaspa Posted 24 July 2012 Posted 24 July 2012 Holmes looked like a hot mess in court today. He looked out of it Been on 'Suicide Watch' tho, which from my view is a form of torture, which he deserves but innocent until proven guilty and all that palava Its a very odd situation, I thought this type of stuff happened every week in the Grand ol' USA Edit : Just watched the video of him in court, and to me he looks incredibly sleep deprived, F knows what they've been doing with him
cambridgefox Posted 24 July 2012 Posted 24 July 2012 Can't believe they put the trial on live TV,is this not the sort of publicity these weirdos want,it's attention seeking of the highest order.
