Corky Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Disappointed Nugent played down that Tweet so early. Had the potential to run for days.
Jace Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Disappointed Nugent played down that Tweet so early. Had the potential to run for days. He would of been better off saying it wasn't him and the last person he lent his phone to was Beckford
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Very well, lots of effort should have maybe scored but made the 3rd. Nugent on the other hand should be ashamed, he was in a mardy from the warm up, needs to sort it out if he wants to play on that showing. Good performance overall, Drinkwater ran things I do feel we need more strength in the middle though. James despite his goal wasn't involved much. Afterwards he tweeted "Good performance boys! Had a great view from the bench!" Not what you want to see really.
southdevonfox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 was a great night , was fun watching the security guys trying to steal the beach balls of us , and so nice to stand on terraces for a change . great performance from all the players i thought .
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Dunno if that tweet from Nuge was tongue in cheek, but its still not what you want to see..
Grey Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Afterwards he tweeted "Good performance boys! Had a great view from the bench!" Not what you want to see really. He's since apologised, and I for one am willing to forgive him. Hopefully he can channel that disappointment into getting his starting place back now. We need to be a team, not a load of individuals who throw their toys out of the pram the first time they don't start a game.
Mark_w Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Nugent and Beckford Saturday. Edit: Was a bit of a pathetic dig from Nugent, sort of hope it is Beckford/Vardy on Saturday now, can't put Nuge straight back into the team just because he threw his toys out the pram.
Corky Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Afterwards he tweeted "Good performance boys! Had a great view from the bench!" Not what you want to see really. You don't want to see him praising his team-mates?
Babylon Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Are people seriously bothered in anyway about him saying it was a good view from the bench?
Kitchandro Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Having read Nugent's twitter from time to time he just strikes me as someone who speaks his mind quite freely. I don't think he meant anything by it, I think it sounded more sarcastic than he meant it to. If you look at it from his point of view it's probably a bit of 'work banter' between mates. Anyway, he always works hard on the pitch and after last season there's no doubt he'll get his chance. We just won 4-0, if he's apologised for anything that may have been taken the wrong way lets stick to the positives shall we!
Mark_w Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Are people seriously bothered in anyway about him saying it was a good view from the bench? Well he didn't need to did he, everyone's aware that he'll be dissapointed and he should be concentrating on getting back into the team. That said I don't really like them being on twitter at all.
marty78 Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Are people seriously bothered in anyway about him saying it was a good view from the bench? Player wants to sit on the bench and collect his wages = w@nker Player doesn't want to sit on bench and shows slight displeasure at not earning his wages = w@nker
Guest ttfn Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 If anyone complains that we are defensive, I'll nut them....speed merchants across the team, on occasions we will be playing a near on 4-2-4 Yeah, it was pretty exciting actually. Will be interesting to see if Nige has the nuts to play that in the league.
Grey Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 Yeah, it was pretty exciting actually. Will be interesting to see if Nige has the nuts to play that in the league. What do people think about the first 20 minutes? On the radio they made it sound like their 3 in midfield were dominating our 2? Was that the case? If so do you think a stronger team with 3 in the middle would cause us problems with that formation?
Jace Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 He had a much better view than what Matt Mills did under Pearson
Bert Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I think we all knew that deep down that it was a little dig, as well as watching him in the warm up and at half time you could tell how pissed off he was. For me it's a good sign that he's pissed off at not playing, shows he wants to be out there for us. Either way, he's tried to put the fire out now so people should just let it be and look forward to Saturday.

Was that the case? If so do you think a stronger team with 3 in the middle would cause us problems with that formation? Of course they will, don't have to be that strong either. Put 5 in midfield and put pressure on our center mids and we are in trouble. Happened a lot last season and I have no doubt that it will be tried by many teams this. We have to find a way to counter this and so far I have seen no realistic attempt by the management to do this. Didn't go last night and could not be arsed to listen to Stringer. I've said this a hundred times and pople still don't get it....... 4-4-2 with 2 men up and 2 men wide will get us nowhere in this division, I just hope it doesn't take too long for us to learn the lesson, again.......

marbelladave Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 If thats the impression they gave then they were talking bullshit. Assuming you went maybe you would like to give us an idea of how we played, first half in particular. I'm sure we were pretty dominant once the goals went in, but how were we up till then? Be very much appreciated.......
Grey Fox Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 If thats the impression they gave then they were talking bullshit. Yes they did. At least to me anyway. I'm glad to hear you don't agree.

I'm sure we were pretty dominant once the goals went in, but how were we up till then? Be very much appreciated....... I was there and I wasn't that impressed up until we scored, same problem in center midfield even though Drinkwater was playing very well, I thought James was a bit too lightweight for me and apart from his goal didn't have the best of games. We completely dominated after taking the lead though and should have had 6 or 7.
James_lcfc Posted 15 August 2012 Posted 15 August 2012 I think we all knew that deep down that it was a little dig. Yep. For me it's a good sign that he's pissed off at not playing. Exactly. It's at good thing he's desperate to play but he does look a little short of match fitness. I know it's the start of the season and everyone is but he just looks like he really enjoyed his holidays compared to the rest of the squad!

Torquay are going to put up a bit of a fight at kick off they are fresh from pre season and even then it didn't take long to break them down, last night was 1 of the most 1 sided games of football I've ever seen
