Torquay 0 - 4 Leicester City Post Match

One or two thoughts from the Torquay forum.

Don't be to down hearted about this, the gulf in class between us and Leicester was huge they underlined why they are amongst the favourites to go up from the Championship, out of the teams from the Championship I have seen us play in cup compitions don't think I have seen a team attack with such pace and power that Leicester did, they were simply to quick and to strong , even at the back they were physical we are not going to come up against sides in league 2 anywhere near to the team we played tonight.

Shame about the score because we've played well so far but against Championship opposition, we have to take our chances. Sounds like Leicester are destroying us on the wings.
Leicester have got a very strong team out, and a very strong bench. Would fancy them to be very much in the title chase, didnt realise how strong they were.
Firstly, we will not be playing sides of Leicester's quality week in, week out. Leicester have invested millions in their squad and they should be aiming for promotion this season. No shame losing to a top quality Championship side in Leicester.
They were by far the best of the Championship sides I have seen us play; better than Saints, Blackpool and Reading.
How many Championship teams, let alone League 2 teams, are going to fall foul to 4 or more goals to Leicester this season?

Nice to read a set of comments like that from other fans to be honest.

Pokey got a lot of abuse tonight!

Compare and contrast him, a lower league player, ignoring it with maturity, and Robert Green, former England goalkeeper, going mental last year.

Good on Pokey.

Despite all the abuse I think there was much respect for him tonight, pretty sure he was laughing when we started singing Pokeys only got 1 ball. If he had just given us 1 wave we would of probably given him man of the match

RUUUUUUNNN!!!

And better in the air, better at holding the ball up, better first touch, gets a lot more assists and he also scored more goals last season with the same service.

I don't know why I bothered to be honest.

Well done boys, great start to the season indeed.

Granted a less than threatening opposition by all accounts, but you can only play whos out there and 4-0 is a great result at any time.

Roll on Season 12/13 :)

I'm really pleased for Lloyd Dyer. Sounds like he took the first goal beautifully. I maintain I think this may be his best ever season for City.

Drinky sounds on great form too and it's great for Vardy to open his account. In James we maybe have that defensively minded midfielder?

The conundrum may well be between Becks and Nuge for striker, assuming that Vardy is in. I hope Nuge ain't spitting his dummy out a little though.

I like strike partnerships and I wonder whether it would be wrong now to split up the Vardy/Beckford thing. I think I'd keep with them two on Saturday.

Another centre back may be needed though, we sound thin on the ground in that position.

All in all, good start to the season proper.

James is a king type defensive midfielder. He breaks up play but doesn't have the strength to physically dominate. He runs late from deep. Looked very ropey first half but improved with confidence.

Think Moore will struggle if continuing at cb.

On current form no.

Nuge has apologised. He was obviously pissed off but I think that's all there was to it.

Nige has obviously nutted him and put him in his place ;)

Dyer, Drinkwater Marshall + Danns or James?

Maybe it will depend on the type of opposition we are playing.

Either way with the French lad to come off the bench for the last 20 we have a cracking midfield this season.

Drinkwater looks like a new man. Immense
