Grey Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 4-3 to us. Hope not. A wins a win but I hope the days of shipping 3 at home have passed. I'll go for 3-1.
marbelladave Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I have to say I am astonished by the optimism shown by the posters on this thread...... I very much hope that it is deserved..... Worth remembering that we took just one point of six against Posh last season......
dakin_fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 2-0 nugent coming off the bench and scoring and marshall scoring the second late in the game
Aus Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Higginbottom Morgan Konchesky Knockaert Danns Drinkwater Marshall Nugent Beckford Vardy, Logan, Parkes, King, Dyer, Schlupp, Fuctas And a 4 0 win! Marshall, Nuge and a Beckford brace

Grey Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Love it how Higginbotham is in some of the teams, even though he's not even a confirmed signing yet.
Happy Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 He has to be a confirmed signing by midday tomorrow if he is to be in the squad for Peterborough?
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore/Higginbotham/Whitbread (Whatever really haha) Konchesky Marshall Drinkwater Danns Knockaert Beckford Vardy
nickelbyfox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore/Higginbotham/Whitbread (Whatever really haha) Konchesky Marshall Drinkwater Danns Knockaert Beckford Vardy I would go with this but start Nugent, Vardy can always come on later in multiple positions and will be more hungry off the bench than Nugent I think.
Mark_w Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I would go with this but start Nugent, Vardy can always come on later in multiple positions and will be more hungry off the bench than Nugent I think. Nugent and Beckford as a strikeforce just wasn't that good, Vardy appears to have linked up well with both during pre-season. Don't know why anyone would want them to start up front together again this year, we've already tried that and watched it fail.
Happy Fox Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/pearson-praise-for-posh-1-4171418 Pearson said: “It’s always a tough game against Peterborough. They are very good in possession and play bright, attacking football so we have to make sure we make it a very difficult game for them. “Both sides had very good results in midweek so both sides will be going into the game with confidence, We’ve got to make sure we concentrate on our own performance and get off to a positive start. “Like every year it will be difficult to predict who will do what. Every year there will be surprises, teams coming up from League One quite often take the momentum into the following season. “People see us as being a good bet this year but we’ll handle any added pressure that comes on us. We’re keen to make sure we set out own standards, and give ourselves the best chance of success. “We need to get promotion this season and that is what we are all aiming for, the owners want it, the management and players want it, and the fans want it.â€

dynamark Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Wouldnt bet against that with Danns ,Schlupp,Nugent all getting a part. Just looking for the right decisions/reaction to how the game develops. Correct decisions from the line could be worth a lot of points throughout a season

TrentFox Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Heavy night last night - not long up and still groggy. Had that weird experience where you wake up not sure where you are or what day it is .... was convinced it was Saturday and was sooooo excited. Absolutely gutted to find there's still another 24 hours to go - feel like a kid waiting for Chirstmas ! Love the first game ... the excitement of that first team selection, the roar of expectation as the players come onto the pitch, the new players, the new kit ..... love it. Anyone remember a 2-0 vs Watford at Walkers (as was) in first proper game there AND it became a promotion season ? There was something about the atmosphere that day ... you just knew it was going to be a great season. So hoping for the same tomorrow.

Back in the 2002-2003 season we finished runners up to Pompey with 92 points.

psychonaut Posted 17 August 2012 Posted 17 August 2012 Schmeichel De Laet Moore Morgan Konchesky Danns Drinkwater Marshall Knockeart Vardy Beckford My prefered formation and team selection. 4-2-3-1. Much more dynamic and modern than 4-4-2 plus we wouldnt get over run in midfield. Attacking, Beckford would not be stranded as either Marshall, Vardy and Knockaert could peal off and support with Danns also giving exta support in attack from midfield whilst drinkwater stays back. This formation allows us to attack strongly and defend strongly as a unit. NP will play 4-4-2 on saturday.
