Manwell Pablo Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Sounded crap from the first post but slightly interested after the following three... If you like acts of ABH being committed on minors, fixed football games, raffles where the best prize is colouring book (already coloured in) and special guests who don't actually turn up, it's a ****ing riot mate. It's a great cause, but I think I'll stick to raising money for it through Ivanhoe as oppose to having anything to do with that farce again though.
Daggers Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Seeing what a prize bunch of arseholes they were on here when their shit little website crashed I can't say I'll be bothering.
sphericalfox Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Bentley's Roofie Funday? No thanks, I'd rather take my chances drinking WKDs in nearest Luminar establishment

fleckneymike Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 If you don't want to attend you can always make a donation via the just giving page. All proceeds go to LOROS so put aside any gripes you may have and help out a great local charity.

Manwell Pablo Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Interested to hear more about this, Manwell Pablo. Which bit? There should be a thread around here somewhere which should have plenty of accounts of the goings on at Bentlys roof funday 2009 (I think it was) unsuprisingly I think this is the first time since then anyone from Bentlys roof has even tried to advertise on Foxestalk.
Finnegan Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 I think they intentionally made sure to avoid inviting us the following year haha. Basically, for the uninitiated, FT had a generation of young, slightly obnoxious (looking at you, Treadwell) but genuinely talented footballers who were used to playing together as they'd smashed as Over 21s several times at internal fixtures. So they formed the bulk of a FoxesTalk team that joined the Bentley's Roof fun day fixture. It started pretty brightly with the lads clearly doing well but Bentley's side didn't quite like the perceived cockiness of the lads so they proceeded to turn a charity friendly in to an Old Firm derby. The appropriately named Lil Dave got basically choke slammed, his dad had to get involved and I believe Ashley ended up in hospital with smashed ribs. There are cleaner games between Brauny and Allexton. Suffice to say there was a lot of grumbling afterwards.
Father Ted Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Somebody tell Alan Young he is a clueless tw*t.
Zingari Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Somebody tell Alan Young he is a clueless tw*t. i'd sooner not risk that if it's all the same thanks
Guest MattP Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Sounds interesting as a day out! I'm sure it wasn't you Finners but nothing worse than cocky young lads on a football pitch against older blokes, very hard to take when you get to an age that can't do things you used to be able to. What are the accusations of fixing about?

kyleolly Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 This would solve our half time entertainment problem. Was gonna take my lad down to this but after reading this i'll probably be better off taking him to the local pikey beer, bare knuckle boxing and bbq funday

1964FOX Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 I will be going after work, good cause and a good bunch of lads.

I'm sure it wasn't you Finners but nothing worse than cocky young lads on a football pitch against older blokes, very hard to take when you get to an age that can't do things you used to be able to. What are the accusations of fixing about? I actually couldn't make it, I'm recounting from memory the thread from after the match. But I wasn't one of the younger players, I played several times for the over 21s. Played in the game against Talking Balls (which was played in fantastic friendly spirit) briefly but only lasted about ten minutes before basically collapsing off the pitch, I'd just got back in to Leicester from a 24hr alcohol binge in London. I do miss the games though, we had a good laugh I think.
Bert Posted 22 August 2012 Posted 22 August 2012 Those games were good. The bentley's day was a right farce how it'd been fixed. The old boys knew they were in a game so took it next level.
