Bluearmyfox28 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 4-2-3-1 for me pack the midfield and hit them on the counter attack! Kasper De Laet. Morgan. Moore. Konchesky DD. King Knockaert. Marshall. Vardy Nuge Pace, good work rate and determonation in that starting 11, and I think that's the only team that can be played on Saturday that will get us a result!
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Knockeart Danns King/Drinkwater Vardy Marshall Futacs Need to be able to hold the ball up top because these will dominate possesion, I am a fan of Beckford but he doesnt hold the ball up well enough in a physical game as this one will be. Plenty of pace too on the counter. Futacs still got a knock i think?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Looks like there will be a low crowd on Saturday. Just 13k last night (especially surprising for such a big game against a huge club) and it seems the Blackburn fans are choosing to stay away until Kean goes. blueblood88 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Whatever the team is, king must start IMO, 2 goals in 2 sub appearances must nudge him ahead of James, who hasn't really looked that decent to me.
Leicester_Numan Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 I've just been reading the Blackburn forums, the consensus of opinion is that their performances haven't been very good, too defensive and they've been quite lucky to have 4 points. They think that this is the game that'll show them where they're at and a lot of them are predicting Leicester wins. Apparently Kazim-Richards is touch and go for the game
Fox92 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 I don't think we are the underdogs as such, most of their fans want Kean gone lets remember this is a club that boos heavily despite the fact that they are winning the game. I've mentioned this a couple of times now, but I do believe this can work as an advantage to us... Reading Numan's post (above) regarding some of their fans, suggests even more than if we get the first goal, their fans will probably get more 'on top' of Blackburn. The first goal is important/big tomorrow, in my opinion.
Dan Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Going to Blackburn, and can't wait... Hoping for a better result than last night obviously. I also agree that if we can get an early goal, the fans will get on Keane's back (even more so if they lose tonight). I would like to a 4-2-3-1 formation, offering balance between defence and attack; Kasper De Laet -- Moore -- Morgan -- Konchesky Drinkwater -- King Knockaert -- Marshall -- Vardy Nugent Subs: Kennedy/Whitbread (if fit), James, Danns, Dyer, Schlupp, Waghorn, Beckford That's the exact team I was going to say.

marty78 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 My team: Kasper DeLaet. Morgan. Moore. Konch Danns Marshall Drinky. King. Vardy Nuge You'll probably think I am taking the piss but I like that, I would also quite like it if you swapped Danns for Knockaert and dropped Drinkwater and King slightly deeper and Knockaert in front to keep Etuhu on the back foot but as an attacking midfielder more than a deep forward. Drinkwater and King to cover when the other goes joins the attack. I think the team that finished at Charlton may get the nod though but Dyer may keep his place with Knockaert on the bench.
Thurmofox Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 My team: Kasper DeLaet. Morgan. Moore. Konch Danns Marshall Drinky. King. Vardy Nuge this! doubt Pearson will play it tho as he's boring 442

You don't seem the type to take the piss mate so no probs there. This may sound strange but Danns would be the first midfielder I'd choose.. And I'd play him there. This is going to be a quickly played, physical encounter. Danns is needed to snap around at the heels of their oncoming forwards, but he must be disciplined, not commit too many fouls and stay in position. Tis only an idea, no better than anyone else's.
Thurmofox Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Looks good, although I couldn't drop Drinkwater with the way he's playing. I'd swap Danns for Drinkwater, but that aside, I'd pick that team. What makes you think the defence is a shambles? Two goals conceded in three games, with two senior centre-halves out injured/unfit and a 19 year old right back in central defence? There won't be any added pressure if we lose. It's Blackburn away - we're the underdogs. Probably the fact that charlton(average championship side) scored 2 goals and our defending was garbage! just like last season. And like above 3 points from 9 is a bad start so 100% the pressure will be on Pearson. are we under dogs? on paper I think they will be more worried about us than we are of them but saying that even Steve kean will look at our back line and be licking his lips. untill Pearson sorts our defence different day same sh*t
Number 6 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Really do think 4-2-3-1 would suit the players at the club. You can choose your 2 defensive mids from Danns/James/King/Drinkwater. The options for the attacking 4 are great: Vardy/Marshall/Knockaert/Nuge - Marshall/Knockaert - Marshall/Knockaert/Vardy/Dyer Nuge/Vardy/Beckford That's ignoring Schlupp, Waggy and Futacs who I think could also fit into that system. Could have players switching sides/positions mid match. Would be a nightmare for defenders.

Grey Fox Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 TEAM NEWS Colin Kazim-Richards, a scorer in each of Rovers' first two games, is a major doubt after suffering a knee injury against Hull on Wednesday. Ruben Rochina may come into contention as an attacking midfield option. Leicester have no new problems ahead of the Ewood Park clash and manager Nigel Pearson could name an unchanged team despite the defeat at Charlton. Andy King has a chance of starting after coming off the bench to score goals in both the last two games. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • This is the first league meeting of Blackburn and Leicester since April 2004, when they were in the Premier League together. • The Foxes have failed to score in their last three league visits to Ewood Park. • Rovers have not lost a home game to Leicester in 15 years. Blackburn Rovers • Wednesday's 1-0 win over Hull was only Blackburn's second victory in 11 outings. • Three points will make this Rovers' best start to a league season in 12 years. • Colin Kazim-Richards has scored both of the clubs goals to date, and would dearly love a third on the eve of his 26th birthday. Leicester City • Visiting recently relegated Blackburn, after losing 2-1 to newly promoted Charlton midweek. • The current tally of three points from the first two games matches last season's start. • Andy King is hoping to score in a third consecutive league game. Leicester_Numan Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 2 Holding players is what I wanted to see at Charlton to give the defence a bit of extra cover. It appears that Blackburn have been playing 5 in midfield so I think we'll get ripped to bits in a 4-4-2 and most likely lose if we don't start taking chances. If we had 3 fit centre backs I would have gone with a 3-5-2 wing back system but it seems the only counters to their midfield at the moment are 4-1-4-1 and 4-2-3-1 but that could leave us a little weaker in attack. Most likely result is a draw with that formation. Might be worth starting Futacs as the lone striker in a target man role so we at least have a chance of holding it and the support coming up to him. I'd be tempted by 4-1-4-1 which gives us a little more width.
Grey Fox Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 Not sure Futacs will be fit for this. It was confirmed by Pearson yesterday that he is injured but nearly ready. He said he hoped at least a couple of him, SSL, and Whitbread will be back for Burton.
Tielemans63 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 My biggest concern for this game is the midfield. Blackburn have a strong looking centre pairing and decent wingers. Need to front up to them if we're going to get anything from this game.
Babylon Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 4-2-3-1 for me pack the midfield and hit them on the counter attack! Kasper De Laet. Morgan. Moore. Konchesky DD. King Knockaert. Marshall. samstown92 Posted 24 August 2012 Posted 24 August 2012 I think a 4-2-3-1 will work perfectly! Becks up front on his own, get him running behind the defenders like he does! I'd start Knockaert, he is a big threat and away from home a bit of pace or brilliance is what we need
