CosbehFox Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Big mistake imo poor from Pearson! need atleast 1 defender maybe 2. untill we sort this were going knowere! we have have sh** defence even worse than last year and with Pearson being a defender when he played it's very dissapointing. we lose on Saturday and Pearson well under the cosh. We've conceded two goals from three games!!!
indierich06 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 I understand all of those points, and they are very valid. It's one of those situations that you can't really do anything about. You just have to grin and bare it. But I can't help but think that the lack of another experienced centre back cost us at Charlton, and may do again at the weekend as well. Just hope one of the injured two is back for Blackpool. Fingers crossed! I don't think Liam Moore's inexperience had anything to do with either of the goals. The first one we were caught on the break and it was a good bit of attacking play from BWP, although I think Kasper could have done better with it. The second, we just failed to deal with that long throw, again, I don't think anyone was directly to blame. What we need to work on is our focus and concentration, after that sucker punch of a first goal we were running around like headless chickens. We need to make sure this doesn't happen in future, even if we do go a goal down. In the second half we absolutely dominated and they didn't really trouble us defensively - we'd gotten our focus back. Big mistake imo poor from Pearson! need atleast 1 defender maybe 2. untill we sort this were going knowere! we have have sh** defence even worse than last year and with Pearson being a defender when he played it's very dissapointing. we lose on Saturday and Pearson well under the cosh. Are you ****ing joking? Did you even go to the Charlton match?
Father Ted Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 What are we thinking then lads? Personally, I'd go with a lineup like this: Schmeichel De Laet - Morgan - Moore - Konchesky Knockaert - Drinkwater - King - Marshall Schlupp - Vardy Subs: Logan, James, Dyer, Danns, Nugent, Beckford, Waghorn. I'd bring Knockaert in for Dyer from the start. King in for James who hasn't performed too well and Schlupp in for Beckford. Away from home last season, we lacked energy and willingness to attack. We have two wingers in Knockaert and Marshall who can attack with pace and skill and know where the back of the net is too. Schlupp and Vardy will provide pace, energy and hard work against imo an average Blackburn back line. Kingy will provide a big goal threat from the middle of the park with Drinkwater playmaking. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!
Cat Burger Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 ---------------------Schmeichel ----De Laet - Morgan - Moore - Konchesky Knockaert - Danns - Drinkwater - King - Marshall ------------------------Nugent We could contain counter attacks better with Danns in the side, would just have to make sure the wingers get forward to support Nuge

Shut up. 3 games into a new season, you can't seriously suggest that losing to a relegated premiership team as well as a promoted League 1 team is going to cost NP his job? Birmingham lost to Sheffield Wednesday did they not? Give him time, 3 games is not time., and by the sounds of it we were unlucky to not take anything from Charlton.

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK! You mean like we did against Charlton when we lost? Yes we could have won, but we didn't, we lost. Get the defensive side of our play sorted, the rest will come. We have the players to attack, but we need to do that on a solid, defensive foundation. If we go away to one of the best teams in the division, and go gung-ho, we'll likely get mullered. We need to control the middle of the park in this game, both going forward and defending. Do that, take our chances and we'll win.
Babylon Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 People complaining about Pearson being too attacking and not defensive enough. Who would have thought it
Unabomber Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 I personally would go for Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Knockaert Danns Drinkwater King Marshall Beckford Subs: Logan, Vardy, Nugent, Dyer, James, Schlupp, Futacs/Waghorn
marty78 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Drinkwater James Marshall King Danns Dyer
Callabinho Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Judging by the fact The Blackburn fans are more bothered about booing and jeering keane may prove to help us, one goal and they will turn!
ealingfox Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Drinkwater James Marshall King Danns Dyer No strikers? Also there is no way Dyer can play after Tuesday imo, he needs to know he has to earn a place.
Babylon Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 No strikers? Also there is no way Dyer can play after Tuesday imo, he needs to know he has to earn a place. I'm guessing it's a sarcastic dig at the "we need to strengthen midfield" calls.
Walshy5 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 No strikers? Also there is no way Dyer can play after Tuesday imo, he needs to know he has to earn a place. It worked for Spain
Cropwellfox Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Kasper De laet Moore Morgan Konch Danns Drinkwater King Knockaert Vardy Nugent Subs : Logan, James, dyer, beckford, Marshall, futacs, schlupp
Albert Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Pack the midfield, keep it tight and frustrate them. We have plenty of options on the bench to change the game if needs be.
ozvaldo Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 ...............Kasper De Laet Moore Morgan Konch ...........Danns King ..............Marshall Knockaert ............Vardy ..............Nugent

Mark_w Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Going to Blackburn, and can't wait... Hoping for a better result than last night obviously. I also agree that if we can get an early goal, the fans will get on Keane's back (even more so if they lose tonight). I would like to a 4-2-3-1 formation, offering balance between defence and attack; Kasper De Laet -- Moore -- Morgan -- Konchesky Drinkwater -- King Knockaert -- Marshall -- Vardy Nugent Subs: Kennedy/Whitbread (if fit), James, Danns, Dyer, Schlupp, Waghorn, Beckford I'd go with that line-up I think.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 ...............Kasper De Laet Moore Morgan Konch ...........Danns King ..............Marshall Knockaert ............Vardy ..............Nugent Looks good, although I couldn't drop Drinkwater with the way he's playing. I'd swap Danns for Drinkwater, but that aside, I'd pick that team. did it sound like I was fuc*ing joking? our defence is a shambles & yea if we lose he's under pressure for sure. What makes you think the defence is a shambles? Two goals conceded in three games, with two senior centre-halves out injured/unfit and a 19 year old right back in central defence? There won't be any added pressure if we lose. It's Blackburn away - we're the underdogs.
Happy Fox Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 I don't think we are the underdogs as such, most of their fans want Kean gone lets remember this is a club that boos heavily despite the fact that they are winning the game.

Particularly if the manner of defeat isn't good. 3 points from 9 would not be a good start. However, to quote Del Boy 'its all epidemic'.. Cos we'll win!
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 23 August 2012 Posted 23 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Knockeart Danns King/Drinkwater Vardy Marshall Futacs Need to be able to hold the ball up top because these will dominate possesion, I am a fan of Beckford but he doesnt hold the ball up well enough in a physical game as this one will be. Plenty of pace too on the counter.
