Callabinho Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 All the recent promoted teams with the exception of reading got points on the board early doors, we have to keep up there otherwise we will be playing catchup!
Col city fan Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 Difficult one this.... Do we now drop the players who Pearson obviously felt were our 'starting 11' due to one under-par performance? Marshall sounded pedestrian last night... Would you drop him? James is allegedly the defensive midfielder... Would you now drop him? And Vardy missed one... Would you now drop him? Does Pearson stick with first choice or now begin to change things round already? I dunno.... What I do know is that I would continue playing Lloyd Dyer because most of our good attacking stuff came from him. I think it's law of averages, the chances he makes for himself will lead him to score some. Shame he misses so many too. I'd stick with Vardy.... I like him and one miss doesn't mean he's 'poor at this level'. And I wouldn't play King... For the reasons I've stated lots of times.. I think he's great in games where we are attacking, but not strong enough in those where we are on the back foot. This has been demonstrated so many times in his career. The only change I'd make would be Danns for James. We will be dominated at Blackburn IMO and need some midfield tenacity.

chili_con_carne Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 I honestly think Gallagher would play really well away at Blackburn. He supports them and obviously started his career there. Don't know if he could play the full 90 though so maybe bring him off the bench at half time or something.
kingfox Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 Don't really know who I would play, scared of us getting dominated and losing comfortably. They have much better players than us and the midfield will get completely run out. Schmeichel De Laet Morgan ??? Konchesky Marshall Drinkwater King Knockaert Vardy Nugent Don't want Moore at centre back, we need to ease him in now and again, yes he has played well in a couple of games, but teams like Blackburn will target him as a weak link because of his inexperience. Take James out and put King in, he looks back to his normal self, and start Knockaert he will be far more dangerous than Dyer.
Jimmy Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 if Whitbread is anywhere near fit he has to start being on the bench, having no defensive cover is an accident waiting to happen

Jimmy Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 King playing that far forward doesn't work, King's game is built around coming from deeper and being harder to mark

He still lives in the area as well as being sold by them. I wouldn't start him, but if fit I would certainly have him on the bench for this game. Introduce him at some point in the second half and see if he can stake a claim for a place back in the team, double motivation. It's worked for King and healthy for the competitiveness of the squad. muzzy1981 Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 Think we need a more defensive set-up away form home, it's a very difficult league. O'Neil used to deploy a 451 when were away from home. .............................Kasper.............................. Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 Kasper De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Marshall King Drinkwater Knockaert Nugent Vardy Subs: Logan, a defender if fit, James, Dyer, Danns, Beckford, Futacs. Blackburn 3 - 1 Leicester (Vardy) So this is your team to lose? Might as well pick anyone. I'd start with the 11 that finished last night.

brockmyster Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 King and Knockhaert in for James and Dyer. I wouldnt mind maybe seeing a cb loaned in for short term cover and to replace Moore, just to give a bit of stability at the back

Knockaert............................................Vardy........ ..............................Nugent.................................... My prefered formation and team selection. 4-2-3-1. Much more dynamic and modern than 4-4-2 plus we wouldnt get over run in midfield. Attacking, Nugent would not be stranded as either Marshall, Vardy and Knockaert could peal off and support with King also giving exta support in attack from midfield whilst Drinkwater stays back. This formation allows us to attack strongly and defend strongly as a unit.

Fox92 Posted 22 August 2012 Share Posted 22 August 2012 Danns played for Blackburn as well... I personally wouldn't play Gallagher just because he played for Blackburn. He's probably got more chance of playing better against Burnley, as he has done before. Marshall behind is the option... Knockaert -- Marshall -- Vardy Nugent
