That site will be a fake, if you go to the monster website you can see the fake sites and the authorised dealers, the number of fake beats sites about is ridiculous and those prices are to cheap. Beats are a bit like apple products you don't really get that many deals on prices they are basically the same everywhere.

If you like indie or guitar music you probably won't get the best out of beats, if you only listen to hip hop or dance music they will be pretty impressive.

Bose are incredibly comfy but as it appears sdb wants bass heavy headphones, theyd be no good. Base and bose dont seem to go together.

Leicester hifi in St Martins have some nice headphones to try. Including Grado s60i best £80 you'll ever be likely to spend on a pair of headphones.

Is Leicester hi fi still there? I was convinced there was a sound system shop in st Martins but I couldn't find it yesterday. There's the one by the Sweet Shop but they only stock serious audiophille gear starting about 200 quid.

The chap recommended John Lewis but their range was just the usual trendy crap and a few of the cheaper Sennheisers.

Had to go on Amazon in the end and settled on some Audio Technicas. Never tried them before but they were a bit cheaper than the Sennheisers of the same level and come with rave reviews.

Figured I'd splash the cash a bit as I've just ordered a Cowon J3 and don't see the point of playing it through some ten quid buds.

Are they the audio technica ath-m50? Heard a lot of good things about them, think they might be my next headphones.

It closed a few weeks ago.

ATH WS50.

Was tempted by the M50 but its like another fifty quid for something that appears a bit less portable.

Don't doubt the output might be a little clearer but for the money I'm not convinced my amateur ears will even notice the difference.

Will let you know how I get on though, they're been dispatched today.

Yeah I thought so. The chap in the other shop (cymbionics or something?) was saying there's little market for middle range stuff because the internet is pricing out the high street.

Said that's why they only stock high end gear and why shops like Leicester hifi went bust.

I was recommended some Sound Magic PL30's on another forum when I was looking for headphones that wouldn't fall out when my ears get sweaty from exercise. These work a treat (even without any clips, something to do with the material they make the bud covers from) and have great sound quality. Fantastic value for money and yeah they're at least as good as my old Senneiser's (which inevitably needed replacing every 6 months).

I've been recommended these actually. They look ideal for using on public transport (which is where I'd mainly use them). While I'd love an ostentatious pair of overhead earphones I can't imagine I can get a huge difference listening on my iPod lol

I have these for running. They're quite good because you can still hear a bit of outside noise. I don't want to get run over :(

Sorry, I got distracted there.
