Bad/gruesome injuries you have had

Recommended Posts

Ruptured carotid artery in my neck causing a stroke and loss of pints of blood. Closest to something really bad was an RPG hitting the ground 6 feet in front of me but failing to detonate.

Lutterworth can be a rough place, but with cheap weaponry

Ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Lateral Colatteral Ligament pulled off the bone, same injury.

Sadly ended my participation in Mid Sussex League Division 4.

That is the something I have often wondered, do films and tv make light of getting knocked out, I often see on TV or in a film someone being laid out cold, and then coming round and being fine, a few seconds of blurred vision then back to kicking ass.

Also the fact that it appears quite easy to knock someone out.

Depends on how badly you get hit, strikes to the head can result in anything from Mild pain to death.

it is possible to knock someone out briefly and them not be in too badder condition on recovery. I would say in most cases though it's a lot worse than it is potrayed, espeically in my case but as I say I think I got properly clobbered, looking at NHS choices if you experience any of those symptoms you should go straight to hospital and I had the lot.

You have to proper twat someone hard to knock them out and yeah some of the tickles people get in films are laughable.

Iron railing with arrowhead through arm

8 stitches in back

5 stitches in ear

4 stitches in eyebrow

cracked head open left side

2 broken arms

2 broken wrists

dislocated finger

cracked ribs

spinal surgery

3 replacement front teeth

torn ankle ligaments

bottom lip once touched nose due to swelling

I've stubbed my toe a couple of times too but I still say the worse pain I've had is toothache and scariest injury cramp in my toes whilst open water swimming.

What are you, a stuntman?

I've seen/attended to (and make of these what you will, and I'm sure you will...)...

A guy with his foreskin stuck behind his bellend causing serious restriction in the returning blood flow meaning he was flaccid but his bellend was SWOLLEN... EEk it looked weird.

A guy who'd tried to vault off the bed only to catch his nuts on the wooden bedpost.

A woman who was so obese she had a spring come through the mattress and "impale" her ass cheek.

The guy with the missing bottom lip after he tried to "feed" his mates dog a biscuit from his mouth...

I'm just happy my mate had run out of peanut butter.

Injuries, ok;

Had a nail go into my left knee when i was a kid, had a nice few weeks off school.

Six inch nail in my left foot, not too bad though.

Nasty ankle injury from football that made a mess of my ligaments, had two weeks off work and then worked with it strapped up for a couple of months, was advised to take six weeks off but could not afford to.

Back injury from lifting heavy weights at work in my twenties.

Severe hand injury when a steel cutting circular saw at work caught my right hand just behind the knuckles, had to have emergency surgery that night but they did an excellent job, have a scar leading across my knuckles from my little finger to the nail of my thumb, still get some numbness and pain and if i was to hammer constantly for five minutes my tendons stiffen up quite badly.

Few broken toes, minor wounds etc.,

Had a near miss so to speak, could have died or been badly maimed when material racking proved faulty and my legs were being pressed at the knees by roughly about 5 tons of steel bar held back by the crane i had been using to load steel onto the saws with, fortunately i kept my head and managed to crawl out of a nasty situation.

Rushed to the LRI but it was only inflamed tissue damage :sweating:

I broke my neck. and didn't know about it for a good 3 weeks......could have been longer tbh.

The other bad 1 I've had is back spasms cause by an inflamed spinal cord, for which I was left in bed for 4 1/2 months.... in the general.

yeah I'm a walking disaster.

A fellow inflamed spinal cord sufferer. You got any lasting damage?

Anyone else ever get those calf cramps that wake you up in the night? I get about one a year, it's that kind of unimaginable pain where all you want to do for a few seconds is die. Rolling arond the floor screaming like a twat.

Yes mate..

I get them sometimes when I wake up and stretch out. They fookin hurt big time!

I had a similar thing once when I was in my mid thirties. I'd played Sunday morning football, had a bath after, lay on the sofa and suddenly got a cramp in my hamstring. It was literally like the muscle 'fell out' for want out a better term and sort of hung from under my leg. Amazing pain for a few seconds, until I was able to 'push it back in'.

Very weird to see and feel.

I get cramp all the time, last season was a nightmare because I was training for the London Marathon on Saturday mornings then spending the afternoon sitting in the freezing cold Kop my hamstring and calves would go all the time, unbelievable pain!!

Attempting stretch it out in a 10cm square space whilst trying not to look a total twat or stand and block the view of others behind is a barrel of laughs I assure you - actually come to think of it my mates were pissing themselves!

No my friend just a long extreme sports history......

Oh and I owe my life to one of your lot, grew up in hospital mainly and on a rare day release home I stopped breathing and was recussitated by a paramedic working out of Leicester Royal......

Good work.
