Pst Posted 16 September 2012 Posted 16 September 2012 When u go for DNA to find out your real father then I will have to go on Hahaha. I really don't know why but that tickled me.
JonnyBoy Posted 16 September 2012 Posted 16 September 2012 The amount that this game reminded me off an inexpirienced player on fifa was unreal, it was as if somebody was consistently pressing the square button as there was so many random slide tackles that were no where near the ball
smudger63 Posted 16 September 2012 Posted 16 September 2012 Konchesky was steady last season, and i certainly didn`t have any concerns about him then, but he has struggled a bit this season, but it`s still early days.. We really should bring a left back in on loan though, if only to give him some competition for his place.
marty78 Posted 16 September 2012 Posted 16 September 2012 With two home games coming I would give Schlupp a crack at it. Konchesky has struggled both in the air and on the floor far too often this season and his passing has been poor and has left us exposed at times.
Corky Posted 16 September 2012 Posted 16 September 2012 We'll get "SHOOOOT" from the crowd every time he receives the ball now.
smudgerfox Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 Thought his general play pretty good but he belied his experience with his marking. But I do wonder why he was marking Ebanks Blake in the first place. If that was the defensive plan it was always flawed because even if PK had not been ball watching, had stayed with EB and positioned himself perfectly, it's unlikely he'd have been able to do very much in an ariel contest. As someone said on Sky we're a very small team - centre backs apart - both in height terms and in physical strength. Morgan and Moore are the only two players who have physical presence, even St Ledger and Whitbread are likely to be outmuscled. Danns is the only centre mid option which changes that. Otherwise we are a bunch of relative lightweights.
wakeyfox01 Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 He started last season poorly before he found his form and never looked back. Other than a few misplaced passes and the goal I don't see what was so bad about him yesterday, their wingers never got past him. With the goal I still don't know why Moore wasn't marking Ebanks-Blake as he was just left marking space
blueharmie Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 apart from that goal, yesterday he was appalling and in previous games also. keeps doing shit passes and gives the ball away 10 times in a match minimum.
blueharmie Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 For me he is best left back we have had for years you obviously don't understand there is more to football than tackles he reads the game like no one else in are squad could still do a good job in the prem hahah the prem. lower championship mabye,
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 Wouldn't be surprised if we loaned in a LB. But tbh, should of never got rid of Kennedy!
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 Like a different player this season, lunges into tackles too often, sometimes you just have to let them have the ball and avoid freekicks and yellow cards. now you notice, personally I feel he is over rated, maybe best of a poor lot last season. That said its the hardest position to play. Looks good running up and down but Dyer finds it hard to feed/link with him
kingfox Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 I thought he was one of our most consistent players last season. This season however he is off form and is struggling, he is doing a Wellens one season he is good and the next he is poor. I still like Konchesky, but I think we need to get in a new left-back. We really need to bolster our squad with 2-3 loan signings, our squad looks very thin at the moment, nearly as bad as Portsmouth.
Webbo Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 He had a poor game yesterday, that doesn't mean he's a bad player. Atm he's the only recognised LB we have.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 He had a poor game yesterday, that doesn't mean he's a bad player. Atm he's the only recognised LB we have. Agreed totally. The over reaction on here once again is crazy. Give the guy a break. Some people seem to think we can get a Prem class left back or a Kyle Naughton again, not gonna happen
foxfanazer Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 Not a good performance yesterday but still a good LB. stunning goal though
Harry - LCFC Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 now you notice, personally I feel he is over rated, maybe best of a poor lot last season. That said its the hardest position to play. Looks good running up and down but Dyer finds it hard to feed/link with him There has been a big difference in his performances this season to those last season, he didn't throw himself in to tackles and was a lot more composed. You seem to be suggesting that he wasn't particularly good before, while he was no superstar he was definitely well above average.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 he didn't throw himself in to tackles is not a good point was a lot more composed. Maybe playing along side Moore is expouseing him more You seem to be suggesting that he wasn't particularly good before, while he was no superstar he was definitely well above average. I am suggesting that and would say he is only average for us at this stage of his career and a lot of the problem is a lack of options when he wants to move or play the ball forward aka Dyer He scored a cracker yesterday but I don't rate his crosses or free kicks
Nick Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 Poor at times defending set pieces maybe but as a left back going forward and spotting runners he's one of the best in this league.
smudgerfox Posted 17 September 2012 Posted 17 September 2012 ten yellow one red card - a player who struggles to cope with genuine pace and trickery and usually does so by diving in rashly
Burmesefox Posted 18 September 2012 Posted 18 September 2012 Konch was our most consistent player of last season, without a doubt. Maybe he is not playing at his best at the moment but those of you that are writing him off already are just like spoilt kids who change their team from Man U to Chelsea to Man City depending on the last set of results. Like Wellens, Konch is getting grief for giving the ball away but you have to look at the facts. I would say that 80% of the time we "play" the ball out of defence rather than lump it forward it is via Konch. Statistically, he must be the defender who has the most possession of the ball. As soon as we look to play the ball out ouf defence it is passed across to Konch because out of any back four we have had in the last 3/4 seasons he is the one that can turn defence into effective attack. NP knows this and this is the training ground plan that the team obviously work on. On Sunday this didn't work as Wolves had effectively done their homework (and until our other defenders can assist in play making other teams will follow suit). Peszko shut Konch down every time Konch had the ball and he so quite effectively. Lloyd also lost width drifting inside and Konch had little to aim at with our midfield that was being shut down quickly. Like Wellens, Konch is a player that takes responsibility for getting the ball forward. These two are men that stand up and are counted unlike some that go awol (ie. Andy King last season). These two players have the balls to try and fail. Just like in life; you get those that will try, fail/succeed, and try again.........then you get those that do nothing and point the finger. In addition, Konch's midfield cover comes from Dyer - need I say more? Start the match with Knockeart and you will see a big difference. Oh, and Konch also scored an amazing goal that totally put us back in the game. Did Nuge, the darling of the fans, manage that?
