Jimothy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 All over everyones favourite site Twitter from all the top new agencies but no actual story up anywhere yet. I'll post a link when one comes up. EDIT: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19695430
Tom17LCFC Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 On SSN now. On the pitch, he was a top, top player. Absolutely loved the commitment he showed to the England cause.
leicesterisme Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Big loss that, by far our best centre back.
Kitchandro Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 On SSN now. On the pitch, he was a top, top player. Absolutely loved the commitment he showed to the England cause. He's been wank for a few years and yes he showed some real commitment to rebel against managers he didn't like. Hodgson's been dealt a good hand now. If only Cole, Johnson and Lampard would retire he might have a chance of picking the right team.

Johnson I agree with and Cole & Lampard to an extent, but I reckon Terry was our best CB on his day. May be getting on a bit now, but still always there and standing up to all challenges when his country needed him.
Guest ttfn Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Was always pretty good for England but an unbearable cvnt.
Jimmy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Cahill & Lescott should be 1st choice now anyway Terry was a good player for England but should of been moved on after the Euro's anyway
Jimothy Posted 23 September 2012 Author Posted 23 September 2012 I think he's been on the downward curve for a while now, and like Jimmy says, Cahill and Lescott should be the starting pair now. Jagielka is decent back up too. We can bring some younger defenders through now too. Fair play to him though, I think on principal he made the correct decision. Had I been in his shoe's I'd have walked too. Found innocent in a court of law, but the FA are still pushing for charges, I'd be pretty pissed off too. Can't really blame him for walking.
Webbo Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Still a good player, shame he had to go. Btw Cole is still one of the best left backs in the world.
Jimmy Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 John Terry has announced his retirement from internatonal football, less than 24 hours before an FA hearing into his alleged racial abuse of QPR defender Anton Ferdinand. PA PhotosJohn Terry has made 78 appearances for England, playing for his country at four major tournaments "I have always given my all and it breaks my heart to make this decision. I wish Roy and the team every success for the future," Terry said. "Representing and captaining my country is what I dreamed of as a boy and it has been a truly great honour. I feel The FA have made my position with the national team untenable." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1169209?&cc=5739
foxfanazer Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Still a good player, shame he had to go. Btw Cole is still one of the best left backs in the world. This! Cole is a sensational footballer. Don't get people that think otherwise
GLC Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 How can you want Cole to retire? He's still one of the best left backs in the world!
Tielemans63 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Don't like the guy but he has been a very good servant for England and always showed first class commitment although in the last couple of years or so I thought he was starting to get found out a bit against top-class strikers. Not exactly a plethora of young CB's coming through to choose from.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Good centre back but we need to be looking towards the future, might do England a favour in the long-term.
foxesfan1989 Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Love the commitment on the pitch, but we don't need people who make racist remarks wearing an England shirt. No great loss for off the pitch reasons.
Haydos Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 Big, big players for us. Forces our hand now with looking to the future which could well be a good thing in the long run.
Jaspa Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 We have a whole generation that could fill the void This could be a big positive Terry he has been a star on the pitch for us, but there has been so many incidents surrounding him off the pitch that makes me doubt him for England Thanks for the service JT

Found innocent in a court of law, but the FA are still pushing for charges, I'd be pretty pissed off too. Can't really blame him for walking. Just because he was found not guilty in law it does not mean that he was not guilty of breaking any FA rules, particularly with a different (lower) burden of proof. Can easily see him ending up with a 5+ game ban.
I am Rod Hull Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 The rest of the England squad will be shittinging themselves when we play away. I can see a huge rise in mock tudor chastity belt sales....
Jon the Hat Posted 23 September 2012 Posted 23 September 2012 I don't see how you can ever build a real team with a willy puller like Terry in it. Good riddance.
