marty78 Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Exactly !! I mean, just look at me and beetroot !!! Perhaps Danns stole Pearson's beetroot sandwiches? Beetroot is the cause of many a fallout.
TrentFox Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Perhaps Danns stole Pearson's beetroot sandwiches? Beetroot is the cause of many a fallout. I'm not surprised by that - it's the Devil's food !!!
Babylon Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 I'm not surprised by that - it's the Devil's food !!! Never trust purple food... Carrots used to be purple, which explains why they are shit as well.
TrentFox Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Never trust purple food... Carrots used to be purple, which explains why they are shit as well. Did they ???? I didn't know that.
blueharmie Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 I know them both personally and any suggestion of bad attitudes couldn't be further from the truth. I know for a fact they were both more than dedicated to the cause for the coming season and couldn't wait to get going. Danns had offers to leave us in the summer from a Premiership club but wanted to stay as he was told he was majorly part of the plans this season. listen pal danns is nowhere near premier league quality. I would have him in the squad for sure but beckford, hes really not very good at all.
Babylon Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Did they ???? I didn't know that. Yep, todays carrot comes about (so they say) due to the orange carrot being bred in the Netherlands in the sixteenth century to honour William of Orange.
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Yep, todays carrot comes about (so they say) due to the orange carrot being bred in the Netherlands in the sixteenth century to honour William of Orange. yep, heard this also. apparently you can get purple carrots, I think there is also green and white versions too
theessexfox Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 They will train with the U21s if its felt that they need extra fitness. Mystery solved. How does training with them improve your fitness more than training with the first team does?

Zingari Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Yep, todays carrot comes about (so they say) due to the orange carrot being bred in the Netherlands in the sixteenth century to honour William of Orange. Surely it would have been easier to honour him with an orange .
Corky Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Surely it would have been easier to honour him with an orange . He's not as popular as Terry of Chocolate Orange.
Babylon Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 How does training with them improve your fitness more than training with the first team does? Because first team had the day off yesterday.
Babylon Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Surely it would have been easier to honour him with an orange . Pffft too easy... It's all about colouring Veg. I was creating a red faced Swede but Sven beat me to it.
sphericalfox Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Because first team had the day off yesterday. This is precisely the information that is lacking from one, Mr Stringer-Long. Plays the audience like muppets, and has them dancing to his banal and repetitive tune. Pearson must be playing hard to get again.

Plays the audience like muppets, and has them dancing to his banal and repetitive tune. Pearson must be playing hard to get again. When he mentions it on the phone in Jock Mcsporran did mention this fact that he quickly brushed over. I was hoping someone would also ask Stringer how his "good friend" on BBC Radio Humberside got the information that a loss would mean Pearson got sacked. As that's what he said on twitter.

That's your opinion but Nigel Atkins at Southampton thought differently "pal" It's not really my place to say what has gone on but it doesn't take rocket science to work out that something has happened.... Dannsy doesnt tweet as much anymore!! A few months back Danns was Pearsons captain and was told he would one of his main men this season...now he isn't featuring in the squad. As for Becks It's publicly known that there was a deal for him to go to Huddersfield to link back up with Grayson but this fell through as we lost deals for Sharp and then Kane. Its likely this will happen IF an agreement is made in regards to his high wage and if he can be replaced. I know the club have made offers for players but as I say this depends if Beckford deal is agreed. Expect more movement on this after we play Huddersfield

davieG Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 As I understand it they are training with the Development Squad not the Youth Team, which also passes as the reserves with the 3 over age player rule. Pearson's policy also seems to be based on the tweets that only those in the squad to play the next game train together so he can focus on getting the tactics across to those actually playing. I guess there's always the chance that those not in the squad could prove a distraction to the other players. Whether that is the best way to manage things is anyone's guess but he's the manager and it's his choice. Doesn't mean there's been a bust up just that those players aren't in the squad, which does of course mean that Pearson doesn't think they are better for the team than those selected.
Deucalion Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Basically I come online several times a day to look for City news. Now, apart from the club propaganda from the OS and the Leicester Mercury, there is precious little news actually to be had. Therefore, people, like me, leap on every nugget of information and speculate to death about it until it takes a life of its own and it is almost indistinguishable from genuine news. Maybe we need to find other things to do with our time.

Can't imagine there would be any better way of doing pre-match training. There's no sense having non-squad players doing set-piece and tactical routines if they're not going to be part of them because they'd impact of the rehearsals. Also the match squad is, i believe, considered sacrasanct and something that everyone in the club would wish to graduate to or recover to if they've lost their place. Doubtless the attitudes of non-squad players in the Under 21 training sessions etc would be reported back and so would any performances in under 21 matches. It won't be easy getting back into a winning squad nor should it be. But if you're in the matchday squad it should sure offer incentive enough to stay there. From what little I've seen of both Danns and Beckford this season they have nothing to complain about. Beckford's been little less than appalling and I'll never forget the way we lost to Burton or Danns' indifferent contribution to one of the most embarrassing results in our history.
Corky Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 I know Danns was not the only culprit in the Burton game, but Pearson must've seen more than just that to single him out and leave him out of the squad. As davie says, Pearson sees far more of the players than we do, hears far more of them, so he has his reasons, and on footballing grounds recently, he has a point for not including him. But he may well come back in. Pearson is a private manager as we know so rumours are the only way of hinting at potential problems within the squad.
