Charl91 Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/19868520 Instead of at Welford Road. Slightly strange.
peterborofox Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Strange as I thought they increased their ground and it isnt significantly smaller than ours? Quite amausing how the majority of grounds they use are all non Rugby ones.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Destroy our 800k pitch why don't you. What a sack of shite.
BHAFC Braders Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 AMEX also listed , could be interesting for some of our fans who miss our hoof ball style..
accessory Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 We have a 30k+ capacity (all-seater). Tigers do not. Surprised Bristol and Derby are on that list..
bmt Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Shame Welford Road isn't on the list but hosting a couple of games at the KP would be good.
wattolcfc Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Destroy our 800k pitch why don't you. What a sack of shite. I do agree with this. Are the financial benefits enough to cover replacing the pitch again? If so, i'm all for it. If not, why bother...
Fox in the North Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Why not use Welford Road and then use some of the extra money generated into finishing the refurbishment for their stadium (like the plan was for them a few years ago).
marko Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Here come the Rugby hating ******. You mean people actually like rugby?
syston_fox Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 The Rugby world cup will last from 18th September to 31st October.... how many of our games could potentially be disrupted in that time?
Dan Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Can't understand why they'd use ours rather than Welford Road.
goose2010 Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 The pitch/grass is that high standard at the KP that a rugby match or two wouldn't ruin it in the slightest. The only thing is the markings would be a bit annoying but apart from that it would 'ruin' the pitch in the slightest.
Haydos Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Can't understand why they'd use ours rather than Welford Road. Because it's bigger. Do you really think the club would be completely fine with it if it wasn't in our best interests? You'd think someone wanted to drive monster trucks on it....
Guest MattP Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Because it's bigger. Do you really think the club would be completely fine with it if it wasn't in our best interests? You'd think someone wanted to drive monster trucks on it.... Judging by some of the guys you see in the pack that's not a bad description.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 They have clearly picked our stadium because by 2015, we will be an established premier league side with the KP extended into an 80,000 seater You heard it here first!
Kitchandro Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Because it's bigger. Do you really think the club would be completely fine with it if it wasn't in our best interests? You'd think someone wanted to drive monster trucks on it.... Our best interests or their pocket's best interests? Probably won't be too much of an issue as long as it doesn't disrupt any of our home games. I'd rather us just swap stadiums full time tbh.
Bert Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Can't understand why they'd use ours rather than Welford Road. More Seats = More Money.
Webbo Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Nothing against the egg chasers but it should be held at Welford Road. The rugby money should stay in rugby.
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Our best interests or their pocket's best interests? What's the difference?
Poznan34 Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 The Rugby world cup will last from 18th September to 31st October.... how many of our games could potentially be disrupted in that time? A lot. And it seems a lot of the Prem/Champ would be disrupted too? Bit odd really.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 As much as I'd like to see the World Cup in person I don't want it to be here as it would wreck our pitch. Mixed feelings but I'm not against it if we were to hold some games! Would love to see New Zealand if they play at the stadium!
accessory Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 The Rugby world cup will last from 18th September to 31st October.... how many of our games could potentially be disrupted in that time? No Premier League club is in control of their fixture list anyway. And most of the games (3-4 maximum) likely to be staged in Leicester will take place in midweek.
Guest MattP Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 I do enjoy Rugby every now and then but it really doesnt say much about a sport when the countries biggest club ground isn't going to be used for a World Cup and you have to mooch off the nations biggest sport to get the stadiums you want. Would Welford Road be big enough anyway? When they put this new stand up every rugby fan in the county was telling us how they would still sell out every week and they have hardly got over 20k for a game this year.

I'd rather us just swap stadiums full time tbh. Pretty sure they're the same thing, no? In what way could it be in their pockets best interest but not ours as a club?
