Orkneyfox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 and this really took me back Boots and Saddles. US Cavalry adventures and how about William Tell?
Orkneyfox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Ivanhoe (Roger Moore in his first big part) or Robin Hood The fun we all had spronging our wooden rulers to make the noise of the arrow hitting! and the link between all the above, proper shows aimed at real boys
Orkneyfox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Cheyennehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXvuX8xiu_E&feature=related Bronco Lane and of course Maverick.

1964FOX Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Used to love The Flumps. And Bagpuss... There was something very dodgy about Mr Ben... And then there's the Bod walk... Christ, it's no wonder I was scarred for life! Of course I only know all of these from repeats. So you are a similar age to me then.
FrankieADZ Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 can remember a good few; but they've already been posted....heres one that hasnt: found a a youtube clip with loads of shows i used to watch*just listing them/With a picture*
Webbo Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 And Bagpuss... The girls at school used to call me Bagpuss. I thought maybe they thought I was cute but apparently it was because I was fat and scruffy.
Corky Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 The Animals of Farthing Wood was a heavy programme for kids when I watched it (about 5 or 6). Scary for those so young. As a kid I loved this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKrcEFFhTcs and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFilPAcl1dw
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 I don't think anyone will ever top the old Tom and Jerry, Tex Avery or Looney Tunes cartoons. I did like watching Knightmare, Byker Grove, any art program, Watt on Earth, Spatz and My Parents are Aliens, even though I wasn't a kid when that one started. I met the girl who plays Mel once in the street in London and I lost my shit. I hugged her! I couldn't stand Blue Peter. Never saw a full episode. Great theme tunes... brill
AoWW Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 So you are a similar age to me then. Nah, I've just seem a lot older than I am.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 When I was really young, Dappledown Farm, Thomas the Tank Engine, Magic Roundabout, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam was all the rage. I used to like Goosebumps, Tom & Jerry, The Flintstones, Wacky Races, Captain Caveman, Top Cat, Scooby Do, Looney Tunes - proper cartoons! We are singing from the same hymn sheet my friend!

AdamN Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Pffft, Tugs is a poor mans Tommy Tank. Rip off wankers. Well it was made by the same people... I liked how Tugs was basically a darker version of Thomas The Tank Engine. Certainly not something you'd see on kids TV these days.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I think it is time for this thread to be reborn. Have just been reliving my childhood on youtube. A few of my favourites: Many happy Saturday mornings! Live and Kicking Abit wrong now (cheers Rolf) but this one was so catchy. Animal Hosptial Never really liked the program but was really in to the music Heartbeat! So many more, particularly the 90's kids shows. Post your favourites. Make me relive my childhood
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 I can remember back in the very late 1940s /early 1950s. If I started on this subject I could write a book, but let's just say life was very different to today, and as far as I am concerned, a hundred times better than now, If you didn't experience it, you just wouldn't comprehend.

Wymsey Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 Goosebumps. This guy and the other 'puppets' frightened me at times:
Guest Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 i bet the dinosaurs were well good Parents used to park their Diplodocus on the roundabouts near school in DTs day.
Corky Posted 2 August 2015 Posted 2 August 2015 i bet the dinosaurs were well good William Shakespeare was his best mate

I'm sure all those bombed out buildings that scattered the UK and rationing until the mid 1950's were glorious You seem to like nostalgia, but you might be over doing it DT, if you constantly look backwards your going to miss out on all the great things in the prsesent and future, you can start to brainwash yourself into always looking at the past with rose tinted specs and only looking at the future with disdain. That would be pretty depressing.
