MooseBreath Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Cue "club>country, England are crap, I don't care about international football "comments. Pretty much but forgive me for not wanting to pass on the opportunity to use the phrase, 'most inconsequential game of football ever'. Seriously, the meaninglessness of this game is extremely intense. It is such a dour prospect that it almost becomes a good prospect by virtue of being almost incomprehensibly dull. The mere thought of watching the two teams dull about on the dull while the dull players dull and then dull makes my eyes glaze over and earlier, when wondering who might be playing for England, I very nearly feinted due to the sheer boredom of the ordeal.

I quite enjoyed that. I'm not a fan of the I don't like England Brigade as you always know when the World Cup/Euro's come round they'll be watching and cheering like the rest of us despite what they say. However I care a lot less for the national side than I used to and a friendly opening Swedens stadium I'm sorry but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Webbo Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Well personally I think it's an honour to open another country's national stadium. Maybe they couldn't book Brazil who knows, but that doesn't matter, we'll be the first and that's a good thing.
Ross-Kemp Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Glad Osman is in the squad. Massively under-rated.
C-man Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Why build a new national stadium that only holds 50,000? Also cost £300m to build? They're not likely to be able to sell out 60/70k so by restricting capacity they can up prices for the big games. Bayern Munich and Arsenal definitely did the same. Bayern in particular could sell 100k+ every game but decided to 'keep fans close to the pitch' (limit capacity to rip fans off)
anotherharboroughfox Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Zaha is just like Schlupp to me. He's a good player but way over-rated, got bags of potential though!
J.Lisemore Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Zaha is a unique player, hes not like Sinclair, and hes not like Schlupp either. Hes getting a stupid amount of media attention but he is still a special talent.
Yojoe36 Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 We sang the second verse to god save the queen? The verse which basically says all other countries are scum and we'll destroy them?
Jimothy Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Nice equaliser from England. Young with a great cross to Welbeck.
foxesfan1989 Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 EQUALISER! But seriously, these players have never played together and its so obvious. I am usually optimistic about England but the last couple of years has been so low, and we aren't getting any better. The '66 chaps must be turning in their graves (or beds...depending on their current status).
Poakey Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Turned it on,heard the band and turned it straight off. They irritate the f##k out of me.
Webbo Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Good half. Really impressed with Sterling. I thought he'd just been picked to keep him from playing for Jamaica but he's been man of the half for me.
Vacamion Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 I think Woy is doing the right thing - bring in the kids, give himself options for later games. I think we were murdering them and the Sweden goal was against the run of play... I can't agree with all this stuff on ITV (boo) about us being slow out the blocks. Would like to have heard Osman's name a bit more and Sterling blew hot and cold, but not too shabby at all, so far.
Guest shearfox Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Last 10-15 minutes of the half was a lot better, keep that up lads...
Voll Blau Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Jeez I get the feeling you could literally hear a pin drop there. Turned it on,heard the band and turned it straight off. They irritate the f##k out of me.
purpleronnie Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 I know, it is a great chance for the english fans to take the piss like visiting fans do at wembley....but nope.
Guest shearfox Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Turned it on,heard the band and turned it straight off. They irritate the f##k out of me. Missing what is actually a good game of football....
Poakey Posted 14 November 2012 Posted 14 November 2012 Missing what is actually a good game of football.... Maybe but just cant bear it.
