My mates firestick is buffering like hell. Absolutely nightmare for him, so he’s had to settle with 5Live

Big issues with the dodgy landscape recently

It’s just not that exciting really is it? Seems like nobody can get anything going and it’s just 2 putt par golf.

I feel like sport is just turning to beige ATM

A big tournament this close should be as good as it gets.

Rory makes the identical error to rose on 13

only one birdie on offer after this one

edit:  can’t hold his par so that’s that for him

can rai hang on?  He disintegrated under pressure on 18 yesterday

G'won Aaron, fairways and greens wins the day. Keep it sensible these last few holes and you're a major champion.

Aaron Rai, bloody hell. 200/1 at the start of the week. Shame it's not a RC year as he'd have booked his place on the team with this.

Had not heard of Rai until this.

He's got a very interesting back story that will no doubt be all over golf media now.

Leaderboard this morning looked like an exciting Sunday was guaranteed.

Whoops.

Only makes Rai’s round look more impressive though.

I see he wears gloves on both hands.

I might have to try that.

What a moment for him and what a performance Aaron Rai. Admit I didnt really know anything about him before this other than seeing him up the leader boards earlier on in majors then he always seemed to drop off! Balls of steel today though.

It seems crazy that an English person hasn’t won this major since 1919, does it just tend to suit Americans?

The PGA has had it's fair share of International winners over the years but the American's have dominated for the last 10 years. I don't think there's any specific reason why an Englishman hasn't won it in the modern era, just one of those things.

Some big names will miss the cut here and we might end up with another surpise PGA winner this year (i.e. YE Yang/Daly/Walker/Micheel etc.)

This has shades of Danny Willett winning the Masters in 2016 too

Surprise winner but not like Rai is an absolute nobody. Remember watching him beat Fleetwood in a play off at Abu Dhabi last year.

Only player in the final few groups to take the course on by the scruff of the neck.

Yeah he’s been in and around in a bigger way than before in these last 12 months

I had only heard of him a few years back due to watching a lot of Me And My Golf

Absolutely delighted for him!

I wonder now if he’ll end up leaving the above as Sponsors. There’s only so much a couple of Brummies living in Florida can put in, compared to the big sponsors

The PGA tends to be played on more traditional PGA tour courses - "target golf" locales. Euros do better at Augusta and the US Open rota courses, as a rule.

Rai is a pretty good player - 3 worldwide wins - but Aronimink didn't cover itself in glory. Ross is obviously one of the greatest course designers in history but without really punitive rough the PGA tried to gimmick the course up to avoid it being blitzed. When you see a bunched up leaderboard with so many no-names (including Rai, all due respect to him) and so many guys who weren't hitting the ball well in contention, you know the course is not up to the highest standards for a major.
