Ebanks-Blake

The club’s 10-goal top scorer, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is being chased by a promotion-chasing Championshiplb_icon1.png club.

Ebanks-Blake was prepared to stay at Molineux for the rest of the season and walk away for nothing in the summer.

But it is understood a clublb_icon1.png is negotiating for the hitman, with Crystal Palace a possible destination. Eagles boss Ian Holloway is an admirer of the 26-year-old and is now armed with £10m after yesterday's sale of Wilfried Zaha.

Hull or Leicester could also be in the running for the former Manchester United man as they look to bolster their promotion bids and Wolves are considering cashing in on the striker now before he is entitled to a free transfer.

The possible departure of Ebanks-Blake comes as Wolves are playing a waiting game on several deals after ‘frantic Friday’ came and went without any transfer activity in or out of Molineux.

Manager Dean Saunders revealed that bids have been received for a number of Wolves playerslb_icon1.png.

But, apart from Saunders saying winger Bakary Sako wasn’t the subject of any interest, the club are drawing a veil of secrecy over their plans for the remaining five days of the transfer window.

Wolves still hope to sign a striker and a left-back, with serious interest in Norwich frontman Simeon Jackson and Villa defender Stephen Warnock.

Warnock’s destiny looks like coming down to who is prepared to pay the biggest chunk of his £40,000-a-week wages, with Leeds also keen.

But the club are keen to play down the significance of the Thursday afternoon meeting between Saunders, chief executive Jez Moxey and chairman Steve Morgan.

They insist that while the phone lines are “going crazy†with interest in their players and Wolves pursuing incoming deals, nothing is close to being finalised, and won’t be until the final days of the window next week.

Don't know if this is worth posting but I thought I would

Palace seems like the right shout. He's a good player but I think we're ok up front unless a striker leaves.

Waghorn and Vardy aren't good enough but unless 1 leaves Nige won't sign someone to displace his love children

Take a deep breath and look at the league table. Now have a little think, can what Nigel is doing be that bad?

Why people are disregarding this guy and becchio i will never know.

Becchio and ebanks-blake > waghorn and vardy

Because keeping SEB, Becchio, Nugent and Wood happy in the same team would be ****ing impossible!

We'd have a tough job keeping three of them happy.

We'd be paying a ridiculous amount in wages to our third choice striker when we're currently performing well, in second place and have a well balanced squad that we could potentially be disrupting.

I could go on.

Think about it yourself you patronising prat, if some thing happens to Nugent or Wood, Jamie Vardy and Martyn Waghorn are 3rd and 4th choice, if we end up having to rely on them we will be going nowhere

Sure, it's not like we were top six with them as second and third choice a few weeks ago. If they're good enough to be second and third choice for a team challenging for a play-off spot (Which is what they've so far proved themselves to be) then they're good enough as 3rd and 4th choice for a side looking for automatic promotion.

Stupid argument. By your logic we should only have 11 decent players and then make sure all our subs and reserves are rubbish and know it so everyone knows their place and is 'happy'.

This kind of thing is not for the fans to worry about. We should want to add quality wherever and whenever we can and then it is just a case of hoping the management have the skills to manage the squad effectively.

I think last season was a clear indication that we should be concerned with keeping players happy, an ex-England manager and the manager who currently has us in an automatic promotion place weren't capable of 'managing the squad effectively', having players in your team who are unhappy will only damage the team, if we pick up injuries then we can bring someone in on loan, but having two high reputation Championship players as third and fourth choice seems like a recipe for disaster if you ask me.

I think it comes down to the mentality of the players more than their ability though. Some players who only make the bench will have the attitude that they need to work harder and push themselves to make the first team whereas others will sulk because they harbour 'delusions of grandeur' as NP put it. Ebanks Blake and Becchio strike me as falling into the first category and SEB is used to coming off the bench anyway as he often did so for Wolves in the Prem. I'd be happy to take either of them.

I went to see Wolves v Ipswich over Christmas and I wouldn't blame any player for wanting to get away from Wolves at the minute.

Wolves were atrocious and created nothing all game. Eubanks-Blake had the best chance but fluffed it, but I suppose if you are only going to get one chance per game you are under enormous pressure.

He still worked hard and came closest to looking a threat for Wolves.

I would like him here.
