Tom17LCFC Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Shit ground,no fans I honestly couldn't believe how empty that stand was. Surely no more than 200 in it. Decent awayer overall, just glad we're in the hat for the next round. There's something special about the FA Cup.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 One thing I will say is fair play to Huddersfield they were a lot better than I thought they would be even if we did help them out a bit. Sean Scannell gave us all kinds of problems when he came on.
Mark_w Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I believe Mark w suggested that Waghorn was good enough as the second striker to play alongside Nuge? I did, and I wasn't wrong just because Chris Wood is better. I believed that we should have been finishing in the top six and Waghorn showed in the first half of the season that he is capable of starting games and performing well enough for a side aiming for the top six.
Charl91 Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I waited 1 and a half hours for that Silly ITV Same. Wish I hadn't now.
Maybes Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Considering it was £10 a ticket it was a piss poor showing from the Huddersfield fans.
My Nads Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 It will be interesting if we get someone like Man U in the draw, I wonder if our starting line up will be a bit more positive in the replay. Can't play Keane if we get them, so hope we don't draw them until we have Zakk match fit.
Dan Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 We were shite. Lucky to draw and you could argue with these farcical circumstances, that we were actually unlucky to draw. I hope Pearson learns though and I don't want us making excuses for not winning the home leg, there's no way I want out of this cup.
My Nads Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 What this game does show is that after our first 11 we have maybe three other good players, but for me Waghorn and Dyer should never play for us again. They are just too frustrating, Waghorn scores one in every seven hundred attemps (ok maybe not that many) and Dyers fast, but has the touch and skills of a sunday-leaguer.

Dyer is still a key member of the squad. We all know it is frustrating to watch him, as he can either be the worst player on the pitch, or the best, all teams have someone like him in your squad. But I do agree with a lot of the other stuff. When you look at our squad, it isn't great. Although IMO, we have the best defence cover in the league, and even better than some premier league sides. To have moore, de laet, konch, schlupp, keane, morgan, whitbread and St.Ledger is incredible at this level. But then in central midfield we only have drinky, james and king. outwide only knocky, marshall and dyer. And up top only nuge, wood and waggy (when having a good day). I seriously think we do need some cover in central midfield, out wide and up top. Outwide we could get.....Cameron Stewart?(worth a risk for the price and wouldnt expect to start every week), Albert Adomah? (rated very highly by a lot of clubs at this level), Junior Stanislas?(still young, can play on any flank, has a lot of quality in a boring team). In the middle - Liam Trotter? (we all know the rumours, good player but highly doubt we will get him), David Davis? (young wolves center mid, physical player but a good passer aswell), Lee Tomlin? (More of a number 9 really, but a good option for when we sometimes switch to a 4-2-3-1, very good creator, something we don't always have. Up Top - Becchio? (gives you goals, hard work and an aerial threat, all clubs hate playing against him), Ebanks Blake? (on form at this level and he will guarantee you 20 goals a season, great physical presence aswell). I think if we lined up with something like this... ................................Kasper De laet....Morgan.....................Keane......Konch ..............Drinky.......................James Knocky...............................................Marshall ...............Wood.......................Nugent............. Subs - Logan, Moore, St ledger, Davis, Tomlin, Adomah, Ebanks-Blake That contains a lot more depth than what we have.... we need to offload danns, beckford, gally and wellens as soon as. With their wages we could sign 2-3 players of the quality as suggested above, and we will have players in our squad which could actually contribute.
bluesbrothers Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 No mention of Waghorn being shit? Konchesky being shit, King being shit, Marshall. being shit, Dyer being shit... Kapser & others being variable at best. In all the team played shit. Course not, because Vardy has now joined Wellens as the forum scapegoat.
flowwolf Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 City manager Nigel Pearson was pleased that his side managed to stay in the FA Cup with Budweiser, but admitted a replay against Huddersfield Town was not the ideal outcome. Substitute Chris Wood hit a late equaliser for Pearson’s side at the John Smith’s Stadium, cancelling out Lee Novak’s penalty and setting up fourth meeting between the two sides this season at King Power Stadium. Promotion from the npower Championship remains City’s number one priority and a draw against the Terriers will now mean a significant change to the schedule in the coming weeks. But Pearson insisted he would rather see that happen than see his side exit the world’s most famous cup competition. “A draw’s not an ideal scenario for us but, having said that, I’m glad we’re still in the competition,†Pearson said. “I don’t think we started as well as we have been doing. It was a bit disjointed during the first half, but I would rather still be in the competition and I think the changes we made in the second half had an impact.†Pearson made five changes from the side that started last week’s league victory over Middlesbrough and admitted the alterations affected the Foxes’ flow, particularly during the first half. But he was adamant that changes were required to ensure his team continue to compete on all fronts. “It was sensible to make some changes, although you’re always flirting with people criticising you for doing so, but I’m not concerned about that. “It’s not as though us naming a different side makes it a weaker one, we have an experienced squad of players. We have picked up a few injuries of late and training hasn’t been easy because of the conditions. “It’s not always easy to get into a rhythm when you make changes. You lose a bit of flow from the side, but it was a good opportunity for those looking to get into the side. “All in all, a draw wasn’t exactly what we wanted, but it’s better than losing.†Pearson also saved praise for the travelling Foxes faithful for another impressive showing on the road. Around 4,000 members of the Blue Army made the trip to West Yorkshire and the manager was extremely appreciative. “They were fabulous again,†he said. “I never want our fans to perceive us making changes as anything other than positive for our Football Club. “I’m sure our fans would have liked to see us win today, but, on a day that we didn’t play perform as well as we can, we’re still in it.†Ah lip service at it's best.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I said before the game and still think it now... I felt we should have played the best team we have and won against a poor Udders side. Got it over with and moved on. I suspect the last thing Nige would have wanted is a replay. Spot on and well put
Ric Flair Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 It's no surprise Dyer is playing atrociously, he has done every season during the winter months. Fook him off.

Acetripper Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 If you think our performance was piss poor goodness knows what you'd be saying if you'd witnessed our last dozen matches! I thought we (Huddersfield Town) played quite well in fact. We kept the ball and passed it well. Believe you me it was 100% better than what we've been doing. Foxes fans seem to be a very dismissive of our efforts, the truth is, you couldn't get hold of the game and while we're not Real Madrid I think we deserve better than some of the comments on here! Looking at it from our perspective you weren't very good because we didn't let you be good!
Corky Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 The first half was up there with the worst ever, nothing significant of note happened. The second improved, but mainly for Huddersfield and we started to play when Nugent, Wood and Drinkwater came on. Got a very well worked goal and a replay that might hinder our schedule but we would've taken after that display. The front two just didn't work, Vardy has no confidence and Waghorn was off-colour. The centre midfield pairing were the old King and Wellens duo, and Wellens was so far off the pace, just couldn't get into the game. Dyer barely got involved on the left, Marshall saw little of the ball on the right but looked ok with it. Wood had our first meaningful effort, and then our goal. Drinkwater got into the match quickly and we eventually managed to get the ball down and play something like our normal style. Thought the fans, on the whole, were good. Quite loud at the start, quiet towards the end of the first half but very loud in the second. Fantastic numbers too. Just a shame we didn't win and I was stuck on trains until 12.40am.

Anyone saying different was watching another game.

(he was toss yesterday btw, if hat tricks against poor Championship sides don't impress how does looking piss poor and not even being able to fashion a decent scoring opportunity for yourself rate?)

westywesty8 Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 i fort we were very lucky to get a draw if huddersfield had tacken there chances wed have got hammered
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 9 starts. And all those sub apperances when he's had no effect. Lets not forget them. That striker we didn't need managed to match that in 45 minutes. Away from home.

Away from home. If Wood's 3 goals against a "piss poor" team isn't impressive, what does that say for Waghorn? He's scored against two "piss poor" teams and one average team.
