Harry - LCFC Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 Funny how there have been hardly any posters on this thread who have a negative view of him, a few criticisms here and there but almost entirely positive. Really doesn't seem to reflect the general consensus on other threads and at the KP.
lestajigs Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 I rate him, he is solid in this league
Stadt Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 I am going to disagree, he plays almost like he is made of wood, if he gets closed down he turns around and passes it back to Schmeichel or Keane, he has a turning circle of a HGV and gives away a fair amount of silly fouls in dangerous areas for an 'experienced' defender. However he is good on his day and scores the occasional cracker but should we go up I think we should be looking at a long term replacement but he would be useful as a squad player. Narborough_fox Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 IF we go up this year I feel we'll have to replace, he's just lost that yard of pace but he's good enough for the Championship. Yes, he has his bad games but everyone does. If his form dips and he's back I'd like to see Schlupp given another chance.
Aus Fox Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 A good player at this level but I wouldnt say he's the best in the league. Been one of best players overall since arriving. Who in this league is better?
dannythefox Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 Who in this league is better? Martin Olsson.
Thracian Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 Konchesky always tries to be constructive and offers far more than we've been used to from a left-back in recent seasons. He's competitive, provides excellent support for much of the time going forward, passes the ball thoughtfully and even has a decent crack at goal on occasions. Schlupp promises much the same and I've wished we'd involved him more but as a substitute for Konch rather than instead of him because we really have needed some experience in the side and Schlupp, for all his talent, still has things to learn in what is a relatively new position for him
dynamark Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 Konch reminds me of Nobby Solano in that he is decent on the ball experienced other players have confidence etc,but I doubt he has the basic pace for prem football.Hence a certain Jeffery Schlupp springs to mind.Either way we have decent left side
Vardinhio Posted 4 February 2013 Share Posted 4 February 2013 Great player, adds to the attack and a confident experienced ball winner at the back. 100% commited. Couldn't wish for more and easily good enough to still be in the prem.

dmayne7 Posted 5 February 2013 Share Posted 5 February 2013 How did he ever get capped for England? Did you see his performance against Argentina? I genuinely can't remember being that impressed by a full back for a long time.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 February 2013 Share Posted 5 February 2013 Best left back in the league bar none
morris1234 Posted 5 February 2013 Share Posted 5 February 2013 He's solid, decent amount of assists last time I checked too. We do have a great defense, only team still in the 20's in goals against and I believe 3rd best defensive record in the football league, behind gillingham in league 2 and Swindon in league 1. Cue 16-0 loss EDIT: after gillinghams 1-0 defeat last night we have the second best defense in the football league!
Saxondale Posted 5 February 2013 Share Posted 5 February 2013 While I concede that his form has dipped a little this season, I still think he's the best LB in the league and possibly better than many in the Prem. His reading of the game is superb, he's (usually) difficult to beat and he gets forward well. He covers well in the centre too. Best LB we've had for absolutely years. casablancas Posted 5 February 2013 Share Posted 5 February 2013 How did he ever get capped for England? You got some of issue with him? He was still is such a consistent player. I do not begrudge him his England caps, back in his day he was pretty immense.
