SystonFox Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 Why? Cos his tv show has just been on and obviously Kyle the ledon didnt see it first time round
GLC Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 I don't mean to be a dick, but what has he actually done to deserve all this praise? Yeah he survived a heart attack, but loads of people do that every day.....
Fox92 Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 I don't mean to be a dick, but what has he actually done to deserve all this praise? Yeah he survived a heart attack, but loads of people do that every day..... Exactly why I put 'why'. I agree with you. The inspirations are the medical team that helped him, as they do every day.
Guesty Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 I don't mean to be a dick, but what has he actually done to deserve all this praise? Yeah he survived a heart attack, but loads of people do that every day..... Totally agree the only thing he's really famous for is having a heart attack. Yet some people talk about him with some sort of holy reverence. Seems like a nice bloke and I'm glad he survived but he's not all that special. Sort of annoys me a little in a way, half these people (not including op - just in general) fawn over him but if it Mavis down the road keeled over and survived I bet they wouldn't even knock on her door and give her some flowers or see how she was doing.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 March 2013 Posted 13 March 2013 If he actually played a season after his heartattack I could agree with him being an "inspiration"
Guest MattP Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Exactly why I put 'why'. I agree with you. The inspirations are the medical team that helped him, as they do every day. Thank fcuk for this. Is some sense still on this forum.
ozleicester Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Seems a nice chap.. good on him. Im sick and tired of the media making people out to be hero's, simply for FAILING TO DIE! I failed to die all day yesterday and so far today, i have maintained my perfect record of nearly 18,000 days on which i FAILED TO DIE!

ozleicester Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Sounds to me like you're a failure. I think the word you are looking for is "Hero"
Darkon84 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I about gagged on my own vomit when someone at the time suggested that he should be given a 5 minute run out at an England game to 'get the cap he always dreamed of and deserved'. Seriously? Urgh!
Carl the Llama Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Why doesn't he play anymore? We all know what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...
AyewJoking Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 The lad had great bounceback ability though you have to admit. Best player ever to die and come back to life.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 Nice bloke, glad he survived but agree with those who dislike all of the hero worship he gets. He's retired as a millionaire in his mid twenties, and his knowledge of football means he's likely to get more jobs as a pundit than the 2013 ACN. There are plenty of heart attack survivors who are much less fortunate.
Super_horns Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 Fair point. Good he surived ofcourse and is able to lead a full life but others aren't so lucky.
StanSP Posted 15 March 2013 Posted 15 March 2013 Tweeted about this when he got chosen to give the League Cup trophy to the winners. I respect and appreciate what he went through and the documentary was moving, fair enough. But why is he getting extra credit and sympathy and publicity? Is it just because he's a footballer already? As people have said already, there's plenty of people who go through heart attacks and come off much worse or go through relatively worse in the first place. I think he's just milking it, to be honest. Bit of overkill.
BHAFC Braders Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 Heck of a life story mind , from the DROC sneaking out to save his life and start again , to go to Arsenal again and again to try and get a trial , to go to a country and not know a word of English and speak it fluently a year later - fair play to the guy , plus he seems like a really nice guy.
Super_horns Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 What about Clive Clarke? Not a Premier league player or well known enough..
