With 1456% greater total attendances in Britain for football (official made up stat) why do we have to tolerate this rubbish? FACT kids who can't play football play rugby, they grow up into slow posh boys who feel they are actually sportsmen. FACT rugby fans wear green waxed jackets and green wellies (they should be shot for this Fashion Faux Pas) FACT female rugby fans look like the male players. FACT tigers fans all live in posh country homes and go shooting oikes like us at the weekend. I don't mind them living in their own little world but I don't need to read about it in my paper or see it mentioned on Sky Sports News. I HATE RUGBY!!

Harry - LCFC Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 NOOOOOO! lol Care to explain that little outburst? But seriously, this is a massive game today so surely you've got to give them a bit of leeway? This is just one of the rare occasions where Rugby is give more coverage than football.

Millions will watch the game up and down the island and further afield. Twenty odd thousand will be in Pride Park and a handful of interested parties will tune in to Sky to watch two unfashionable midlands clubs play a non-derby. What are you expecting? I hate cricket, I don't spend all summer crying in to my hovis because it's everywhere.
Bilbo Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 I also hate rugby, however a lot of the female fans are fit as fook due to the fact it is the sport choice of many well off sorts (ie rich blokes are usually accompanied by fit women).

Basic load of bollocks, my waxed coat is blue and my air rifle is broken. Seriously I like to watch loads of different sports, was up too late last night watching the cricket for example. I also prefer the way rugby deals with the referee player relationship, none of this stupid arguing, have you ever seen it make an official change their mind!

Finn Claw II Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 The attitude of the players i.e. the respect they show the ref is miles better in Rugby Rugby players are a far harder bunch than football players - the sport is pretty brutal We've won the world cup in Rugby and been to another final - i.e. the golden generation actually realised their potential. English football players bottle it. I'm going to watch one game on the laptop and one on the TV

At least with cricket you can stretch out in the sun with a cold beer, book/paper or have a nice fuzzy snooze while getting the tension that footy provides with the nagging fear that the ball could hit you at any moment.

My dad is a huge Tigers fan and certainly doesn't live in a posh country home. Rented accommodation in a terrace house in Syston near Hobby Horse. May want to change this "FACT".
leicsmac Posted 16 March 2013 Posted 16 March 2013 Oddly enough, it is in fact possible to enjoy more than one sport at the same time. For example, I love Leicester but I also love tennis, and would celebrate Murray winning Wimbledon this year as much as LCFC getting promoted. Football (particularly the Prem) if anything gets far too much coverage at the expense of other sports, rather than the other way round.

Rugby league is working class. I support both, as do many people I know. Actually rugby league is dominated by northerners not working class and union tends to be southerners.....Football could learn a lot from rugby, how to respect a referee, respect the opposition (after the game) and how to not create a bunch of over paid prima donnas... Anyway, 3 points and the grand slam would do me nicely.
