Sack him now!

Recommended Posts

Are they not playing for their jobs anyway? I would hope they are. Players have been dropped in recent weeks, it's not done them any good.

As for wanting him gone I don't know but it's pure speculation.

Keep him then let's have 1 win in 17, bottom Half?? No thanks,

It won't make any difference. The team can't manage itself.

Play-off dreams are over IMO. If we're going to replace Pearson I want a quick replacement, and one that is the best we can realistically get. Panicking and getting an also ran in or having no manager at all is no good to man nor beast.

The LMA are going to go mental if we sack Pearson, too many sackings at the moment.

I think we should give him until the end of the season, very much doubt Mcdermmott would come in and raise our game. I think it is largely the players fault, they're too precious and inconsistent.

Haha I did try to create a new thread, but mods put it in here, basically, Pearson has gone, announcement by 5pm tomorrow, O'Neill has been approached. This is all from a source inside the club, he's very reliable. No information on other candidates, or if MON will accept. Thais been thinking about this for weeks, but didn't want to enhance reputation of hiring and firing.

Yep, heard exactly the same. Only that NP announcement will be by lunchtime.

I've heard something like an announcement will be made some time in the near or distant future, as I've been told by someone who doesn't know Ricky Hill.

I hear what you are saying, but I think, there just comes a time when some things are just too far gone and irreversible, and this is one of them occasions. What started 6 weeks ago as a minority on here wanting him out, has snowballed to where we are today, where the majority of people think his time is up.

I like the idea of stability and I do agree that its the secret to success, but any manager, no matter who they are, would be at serious risk of the boot if they had the same string of results. I even include SAF, Wenger etc in that. If either of them picked up 3 points out of 33, I would be surprised if they werent given the axe.

For me now, with the way these last couple of months have panned out, im so glad the season ends in 6 games time. Because if it ran for 10 games or more, I'd be worried about our ability to stay up, especially with the run in we have.

This isnt just a bad run of form we are in, this has to be a total split down the camp which cannot be resolved. Whether its between the players themselves, or the players and Pearson, no one will probably ever know. But you cant just hit a patch and play this bad without there being a reason. So rather than drift over the next 6 games and finish mid table, there is nothing to lose on gambling. A gamble which either leads to two results:

A: We miss out on the playoffs, which seems likely now anyway under current management.

B: We up our game under new stewardship and somehow manage to crawl into the playoff lottery and go up.

Its a no lose situation with regards to this season for me now

Yep ok, if that is what's happened then his time is up. No doubt about it.

However, I'm going to say something a bit controversial now and that is: we haven't actually been that bad. I've been to every game in this run and there's now way we deserve as few points as we have, absolutely no way. I'm seeing players who are frustrated, disheartened but who haven't given up (although I doubted that for the first time today).

I think we're very close to what you've described, a split in the camp, but we're not quite there yet. I'd give it one, maybe two, more games until I have to accept Pearson's lost the players. If I don't see fight on Saturday I won't defend him any more (if he's still here). One more game.

PS - Thank you for considering my view instead of just taking a pop at me, appreciate it.

There's just no way we can carry on like this now, is there ? The bullet has probably been fired already and we will await its impact in the coming days. Why oh why did this not happen after Derby when a manager who ticked almost every box we could hope to be ticked was still available ? I would personally have taken Adkins over MON. ( If it were a choice!!)

High risk high paid position. Imagine in his time here NP has earnt 2/3 million so is hardly going to struggle. Sadly he will carry the can for some shocking performances from the players of late as well as some tactical decisions that have not worked out. Even if we somehow scrape into the play offs i cannot see us going further as we re on the crest of a slump. If we stick with NP will we just have the same conversartions sat night if we lose.

HE'S SACKED!

??

Care to re-phrase that as the above statement doesn't make sense this way?

And why am I using ?? when making my own statements?

Clearly it's a bit late at night? And maybe I should go to bed?

Oh yeah agreed, we should have walked away with 3 points against Cardiff of that I have no doubt. But for me, thats the only game out of the 11 where I think we've not gotten what we deserve. I might of suggested that we deserved a draw with Millwall also, but having said that, if it wasnt for Kasper, we could have shipped 3 or 4 in that game easily.

But the flip side of the coin is, is that directly before this rot properly set it, we also had a few results that we in no way deserved. We beat Wolves at home but we played poorly and we also beat Boro, but got away with it due to a poor penalty by them right at the death. So even though you suggest we deserved a few more points in this run that we go, i think we also got points in this run that we in no way deserved. Swings and roundabouts i suppose

I think no one should be forced to reveal their source when dishing out new made-up "facts" left and right.

It just doesn't feel right.

He's gone?

But what about tomorrow morning's late afternoon meeting that's definitely taking place tomorrow evening to confirm he's been sacked after the 6 games because then he doesn't get his £1 million bonus after the Barnsley debacle summit showdown talks?

So many people with different accurate info - I'm confused.

Yes that's very true actually, can't disagree with that. I think if we'd mixed the good and bad runs together, never reached 2nd, and not fallen so sharply there'd be less concern. People might accept we're a PO team that are just struggling atm. Pearson a victim of his own success perhaps.

To be honest, I'm questioning my own views now. I like Pearson a lot, more than most, and I wonder if I'm just clinging on in vain hope that we'll turn it around. No-one else seems to believe like I do. Can't think of many games where I am so desperate to get a result than this next one.
