Leicester 1-2 Watford Post Match

Recommended Posts

Entertaining game to watch but has left me devastated. Had some great chance in the first half, albeit so did they. They always looked like scoring when they went forward and they targeted Konchesky everytime. He in particular was awful last night and has been for a while imo. Strange seen as he was Mr Consistency last season.

Their first goal was some of the shoddiest defending I've seen, to let the ball bounce in your area from a corner is unforgivable at this level.

Their second was just a worldy which you can't really blame anyone for.

Didn't think we deserved to go in 2-0 personally but we need to learn the hard way it seems. We came out all guns blazing second half and unbelievably Harry Kane looked like he was gonna be a game changer, what happened there? lol

After we scored we had a good 10 minute spell of pressure but that seemed to burnout in the last 20. I honestly didn't think much to Watford to be honest but fair play they got the result

Maybe next season we can loan over half of our first team from Prem and foreign leagues, pay the referee to make decisions our way and get away with terrible fouls all over the pitch? On a side note. Come on you Welsh Dragons! It ain't over yet (Mathematically)

What does this post even mean?

Are you saying that Watford pay off refs - that is simply not true - our mafia connections simply hold their children somewhere safe until full time

Just can't see what you'd get from going on to a board of opposing fans and opinions and doing this. He's obviously in a hum-drum job coming home to his two beers, an argument with his wife and insufficient penis size.

For all the possession we had, how many saves did their keeper have to make? Watford always had an element of control, looked dangerous on the counter and created chances - that's what Ricey's getting at.

Precisely. Some people, Pearson included, are confusing possession, determination and urgency as domination or 'being on top'.

Football is about scoring goals. Watford were composed and created very good chances by opening us up. We, however, were relying on long shots, scrappy scrambles and set pieces. I can't see how we were on top for the first 40 minutes, or even on a par, when we didn't have a single shot on target during that period.

Morning,

Just skimmed the thread in wonder and some amusement. I know a lot of you are disappointed but, really........ :dunno:

I thought we played quite well last night, not at our best by a fair margin, but much better than of late. Watford are a good side in a very decent run of form, we are not, the last few months have really taken a toll of our confidence and composure and that was one of the big differences between the sides.

The other was the flexibility and fluidity with which Watford played the game, compared to the rigid, stilted 4-4-2 (and even worse 4-3-3) that is our norm it was outstanding. Despite this we played well enough for 40 mins, they looked sharper and more creative but given our recent form that was hardly surprising. We did have plenty of possession though the forward players lacked the composure and confidence to do much with it.

All in all I thought it was a pretty close game, Watford are the best footballing side I have seen this season, we are a decent team on the end of a dreadful run, at our best I think we would have beaten Watford, but we weren't and we didn't.

Probably the best team I've seen this season. Fantastic free-flowing, attacking, football, the way it is supposed to be played.

Not only that, the movement from the Watford players (all of them, especially forwards and midfield) was excellent and too much for some of our players to control. A lot of pace about them as well... Their movement and play was a class above ours.

I'm not on the bandwagon that they are the best side to come to the KP this season. If we were a bit more clinical we could've got something out of that easily. One poor bit if defending from a corner and a wonder strike beat us.

I personally thought palace were far better when they came down here. We got dominated that day!

And about saving them, our much lauded defence conceded from a set piece again, probably the pivotal moment of the game.

We lack composure and sharpness up front and why wouldn't we? Our creative and attacking players have been blunted by inept coaching and management, the mantra of work harder, track back etc, etc seems to have wrecked the attacking ability that was there earlier in the season.

NFP appears obsessed by the idea of turning our best attacking players into poor defenders yet allows confusion and indecision to rule tothe heart of our defence. Unexplainable, to me anyway!

Watford's first goal was a set piece.

Watford's second goal was a long shot

Yes, but that's all we could muster up. Watford were also creating good chances throughout and were unlucky not to add to their tally.

Hmmmm maybe. I don't think they created much to be honest. They had that one where Kasper spilled the ball then saved it but that was just an error more than good attacking play and them they had that chance RDL cleared off the line but we were still all over the place from their second goal

It wasn't lost last night against decent sides like Watford, it was our miserable run against average or poor teams that mean we are virtually certainties to spend yet another season at this level. 10 years out of the top flight next year, and it's even more galling given this could, possibly should, have been the end of that spell.

We lost it before the break, dreadful marking from a corner and then a great hit. It left us too much to do, and we didn't create enough to really trouble Watford.

Such a dispiriting end to a home season that offered so much, entertained royally in plenty of matches but came up short when required most.

What a waste this season has been, and as we are likely to miss out on the top six, it will be viewed as a failure. If only...

Completely agree. Out of the 10 years since our last Premiership adventure, this was the best chance we've had. A talented squad combined with the worst quality Championship there's been in a long time surely should have seen us up this time.

I predict NP gets sacked and whoever comes in wont do any better and come Christmas next season, we'll all be saying, 'they just need more time'.

Here we go again lads...
