Guest Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 It just makes me sick to think that we only needed an extra 3 or 4 pts from our last run if suffering to be sure of playoffs.
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 So if Bolton lose next week and we beat forest, we finish 6th? ahaha thats amazing
Matt Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Do you honestly believe, that if we make the playoffs, whether we go up or stay down, that the manager will ignore our horrific run of a form without adding to the squad/adjusting tactics or whatever? I'm not talking about the manager, I'm talking about the fans everything will be forgotten, everything will be rosy, 2 wins in 16 will be swept under the carpet. As for the changing things, has he really got many options with the squad we have? I want Pearson to stay but he has done anything during the last 16 games to change anything/change the squad/team?
Guest Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 I posted this in the Championship thread; My argument is that if we do make the playoffs everyone will simply forget how bad we've been, we can't ignore how bad we have been, big questions need asking, something needs to change (I'd say personnel within the team) but if we make the playoffs all will be forgotten, I'm sorry but the just isn't right. If we make the playoffs we've done it on merit. shut up your complaining. Some of us are happy with our football this season even though we've been disappointed by the run of results that has seen us drop from automatic promotion. You EXPECT too much from a football team. it's not your God given right to promotion.
Guest shearfox Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 So if Bolton lose next week and we beat forest, we finish 6th? ahaha thats amazing Pretty much that simple...
lcfcsnow Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 We haven't got it in us to beat Forest, surely that is obvious to everyone by now.
Guest Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 So if Bolton lose next week and we beat forest, we finish 6th? ahaha thats amazing Even better than that if Palace can somehow lose both their games and we beat Forist we're in the playoffs even if Bolton win. Next weekend will be a big one. what a season!

Well what do you want the fans to do? He hasn't got THAT many options with our squad, but he has the summer to make adjustments and go again next season. You can't make transfers during the season... We haven't got it in us to beat Forest, surely that is obvious to everyone by now. That's the spirit.... Honestly, some of our fans...

You EXPECT too much from a football team. it's not your God given right to promotion. I expected to be outside/just make the playoffs pre season, so you could argue I should be happy it is what I expected, however the way we have played in the last 16 games is hugely alarming and people find it easy to forget, I have said many a time this season we have played some good stuff, but the implosure of freefall we have experience leading to relegation form I simply cannot ignore.
Webbo Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 We haven't got it in us to beat Forest, surely that is obvious to everyone by now. No point even bothering to turn up then. Somebody ring the owners and tell them to cancel the rest of the season and the potential millions we might make if we get lucky.
Leicfox Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 So if Bolton lose next week and we beat forest, we finish 6th? ahaha thats amazing Even if Bolton draw next week against Blackpool and we beat forest, we still finish 6th on goal difference.
Deucalion Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Bolton can win and we can still make the playoffs... if Palace fail to beat Peterborough. If...we beat Forest. ps - and Millwall beat Palace on Tuesday.
unreachable Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Pretty much that simple... We have a better goal difference than Bolton so a Bolton Draw + Win at Forest will work as well. Not such a miracle now!
Guest Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 I can't see Millwall beating Palace but if they do, I can see Peterboro beating them as they'll be fighting for championship survival.

He hasn't got THAT many options with our squad, but he has the summer to make adjustments and go again next season. You can't make transfers during the season... Exactly, so with these players, how are we expected to change our last 16 results and performances into postive, winning, playoff winning football? I can't see it.
lgfualol Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Going to have to stock up on toilet roll for next weekend.
ian_marshall Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Even better than that if Palace can somehow lose both their games and we beat Forist we're in the playoffs even if Bolton win. Next weekend will be a big one. what a season! Even better, if we win, Bolton have to beat Blackpool, otherwise we secure 6th spot on goal difference.
Happy Fox Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 I believe despite thinking NFP is an inept manager at this level because lets be honest he is and has blown our playoff/automatic promotion chances he can redeem himself by winning against the RedShite that is all we ask. Come on City where there is hope the players have to stand up and deliver, if they are reading this put the f**king effort in.
GH1 Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 We need palace to lose their extra game at mill wall . That then puts them in the mix next week and they are more likely to lose playing Peterborough than Bolton at home to Blackpool
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 We need Palace to lose on Tuesday night for starters. This would leave 5th and 6th open going into May 4th/next week. Then, Bolton v Blackpool Palace v Posh Forest v Leicester I still believe, also. It's a long shot, but we're still in it. Can't see Blackpool beating Bolton though, that's why I want Millwall to beat Palace on Tuesday so at least there are two places still open. I believe despite thinking NFP is an inept manager at this level because lets be honest he is and has blown our playoff/automatic promotion chances he can redeem himself by winning against the RedShite that is all we ask. That wouldn't redeem us falling from 2nd to 8th. Not in any way.
whoareyaaa Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Exactly, so with these players, how are we expected to change our last 16 results and performances into postive, winning, playoff winning football? I can't see it. What about the first 30 games?
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 Even better than that if Palace can somehow lose both their games and we beat Forist we're in the playoffs even if Bolton win. Next weekend will be a big one. what a season! Millwall and Peterborough left for Palace. Tough games potentially
Guest Bilo Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 You people do realise Forest aren't actually that good either don't you? They went six without a win before today and we were laughing our heads off at them under McLeish not so long ago. I think people have been blinded by their brief bounce when Davies first returned, but they're still largely the same shit side they were back in November.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 27 April 2013 Posted 27 April 2013 It doesn't really matter, surely no one on here still believes that with the form we take into May that we can 1. beat Florist away 2. Gain an aggregate win over two legs against one of the teams above us & 3. Get a win at wembley to achieve the seasons aim? Season is over in all but name for us, move on.
