you're aware that they both got bought by 2 other managers who waste money, fergie and dalglish.

If you really want O'neill in on the basis of his last job, he wasted £5 million on a striker who is no better than nuge or wood.

So you criticise him for making £16m because you think the next bloke paid too high too??

You're not a banker are you??

Can people please stop making these kinds of broad bloody statements. You, like I, like everyone else has NO IDEA whether Pearson will 'get the job done' next season. We can all hope so and I think he'll have a better chance if he learns from stuff this season.

But 'convinced'... No you aren't. On what basis? You don't even know what the squad will look like or even who the final team to be relegated will be.

These posts piss me off as much as the 'Pearson will get us relegated' nonsense.

Be fair Col, we do know that we will be playing 4-4-fooking-2, that our best creative players will be turned into crap wing backs, and that when NFP loses it a couple of months into the season we will be back to playing hoofball.

It's not rocket science..... ;)

There's a difference from somebody say he WILL get us promoted to saying THEY THINK he will get us promoted. How can you tell somebody else that they aren't convinced. Last time I checked we lived in a democracy and you weren't a member of the Gestapo... or maybe you are.

I agree with you that we can't really predict whats going to happen and its why I think the majority of threads about the future should wait until the dust has settled and people have taken the emotion of the last couple of weeks out of things. Once we've had time to reflect on things, then, maybe we can start planning for the future and sugesting alternatives but until then everybody is grasping at thin air.

Anyway, we'll have another exciting summer to look forward to and come what may, I hope we'll be celebrating this time next year.   :scarf:

The name of that bloke who won Ligue 1 at Montpellier. Even hinted that he'd be willing to start in the second tier of English football.

Could be an interesting appointment!

MON Legend that he is  aint never coming back,, get over it ffs...

how about Mancini ?? hes looking for work ,,ex-player

If there was even half a chance of getting O'Neill, I'd want him above because Pearson because Pearson simply isn't in his league as a manager. More fool you if you can't see that!

Got to agree with that.  There's no way any ambitious club would choose Pearson over MON.

I'm fine with keeping Nige especially over the summer with Walshy's scouting. Give him a few games and if we aren't looking good for a playoff place then look elsewhere.

If we did get rid, then Poyet or Powell for me. Rene Girad would be great but surely out of our league.

Giraud would probably got to a Prem club.  Same with Poyet now, but Powell is a distinct candidate.

I'd be happy with giving Nige one more season.

But I'd be just as happy with a good replacement.

If we did change I'd want a younger manager with some fresh ideas on how to play football on the ground.

That thought quite excites me actually.

Who knows? If we were to change and get someone in with a different philosophy they may re-introduce Danns and Beckford.. And actually get them playing?

With Pearson as manager, I want them gone.. They are expensive and he won't entertain them. With someone else.... Who knows?

I agree with you, Col - apart from the first line!  A good young manager IS the answer - that's why I'd back Chris Powell.  For many reasons, recorded elsewhere on this Forum, but chiefly his footballing knowledge, his tactical awareness AND his ability to man-manage and 'get on' with people - a skill sorely lacking in the present incumbent!  He's shown this in 2 seasons with Charlton now.

Talking of Chris Powell ..... How hot was that SKY commentary box - he was sweating like mad at Watford!!!!

None of the above thank you. We really should be sticking with NP for another season. I'm convinced he'll get the job done next season.

Yeah we might even get 4 wins in 18 games . . . .

lol

And yet, if you go back through the threads on this forum at or around the news that we were having Sven as our manager it generated the same level of excitement as if we were signing Messi as a player. Take a peek back and you tell me if I'm wrong.

I genuinely nearly stopped going to watch us when Sven got the job. Knew he'd fail. Didn't quite expect him to financially ruin us as he did though. Shambles. Still paying the price

I was the opposite ..... loved going to the games with Sven around and stopped having any enthusiasm under NP. For every head there's a tail!!
