Ah, the aul School Gate ITKs.   Quality sources.

That wasn't the source.  The source was a Romanian newspaper.  I simply asked a couple of Man Citeh fans if they had heard anything.

Until any Club comes out with an official statement, nobody KNOWS what is really going on,whether that is Stringer, Burns, Tanner or Buckingham.  But that doesn't mean all rumours are wide of the mark.

The first duty of a defender is to defend, if that means he chooses to clear the ball instead of passing it occasionally then I don't mind.

A defender's responsibility is certainly not be entertaining, in fact their task is to be "boring" although I personally find last ditch tackles and blocks rather exciting.

I personally find that to be poor defending. Just not from the player who made the clearance.

That's true actually  lol  I remember Rio Ferdinand once saying somewhere that he wanted to come off the pitch with no mud on his shorts as that meant he never had to go to ground.

Being in that situation probably means that mistakes were made before, I just used it as an example of how defending could be exciting.

That's a fair question. Any Hull on here have an answer?

When we were competing with you for promotion, that is a reasonable strategy.  Now we are not competing with you it's moot.

Nice to hear it was strategic and not just bitterness from your chairman

I accept that was a weakness to his game but I'm more interested in his ability to stop the opposition from scoring, player of the 09/10 season shows how capable he was for me. I just don't think it's vital that a CB can pass the ball brilliantly, important but not a must. He wasn't that bad anyway and could probably get better in the current team.

I also think he'd be even better alongside Morgan who seems to have had a very positive impact on Keane who I also admire.

If a defender can't pass the ball, he will just give it straight to the opposition, about 30 yards from goal, which is a dangerous position.

Vitor had all the qualities you could wish for, he was good in every department.

St Ledger can pass the ball out of defence, very well and his heading accuracy is very good

Keane was calm on the ball, and wasn't scared to bring it out of defence

I want someone like them.

If i was kasper (therefore not taking account of my bias towards lcfc) i would leave city now.

Unless he is aware of new signings we are making, we are well behind reading, qpr, wigan etc, that i can only see us finishing mid table next year.

New bid coming in for KS from us according to rumours at your end.

@TheSharpeEnd

...and Hull City may not have given up on Kasper Schmeichel just yet. #lcfc #hcafc

Wonder if this is connected to your appointment of a new Chairman??

King Kenny was told he wants out!

Cuddly reveals a nugget!

People speaking in the third person is right up there with people using 'baby talk' in things that make me want to vomit.

Precisely. So many fans strike me as thinking good defending is all about crunching tackles and last ditch clearances but the art of defending is mastered by the Spanish. Not a physical side in the slightest - yet are the most solid team on the planet by a distance. They close down like no-one I've ever seen and win possession back by constantly forcing their opponents into mistakes.

The way they play is far more solid than a 4-4-2 with two 6'4 beasts in defence and another two in centre midfield will ever be.
