Cropwellfox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Staying according to the Leicester Mercury.... http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-tell-Hull-Kasper-Schmeichel-going/story-19283404-detail/story.html Would have bitten their hands off if £2m and Hobbs was indeed offered for a player on big bucks and only 1 year left on a contract.
Bert Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Just seen the back of the Mercury myself and had to chuckle. KASPER STAYS is a bit misleading. If a decent prem team comes in for him he's off.
hackneyfox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 If he isn't going to sign an extension, and why would he, then I'd sooner we sold him now.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Would have bitten their hands off if £2m and Hobbs was indeed offered for a player on big bucks and only 1 year left on a contract. Tend to agree unless he signs an exstension.
Ric Flair Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 I have to agree as well, £2 million and Hobbs if he's not going to sign a new deal or we can't afford to offer him an acceptable new deal is good business. If he leaves for nothing next summer then we've been silly. Having said that, Hull can fook off.

Rhysm Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Give Schmeichel a new contract with a buy-out clause if we don't go up next season, at least we would receive some money rather than none at all. Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but he would only sign this if we offer him more money (which would contradicts all that has been written on here about us needing to save money) Will be interesting to see if anyone else offers the same amount of money that Hull have - I mean their interest has hardly started a bidding war has it?
Finn Claw II Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 He has no real incentive to sign a contract - he is in demand and running down his contract puts him in a great postion to negotiate his next move (which could include staying with us). That said I would have taken Hobbs plus £2m I think the Kasper story wil run and run until 31st August, it'll keep us all busy on here...
ealingfox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Even if we'd accepted the bid there's no guarantee a move would have happened. Bert was saying one of the main stumbling blocks was that Kasper doesn't want to go to Hull anyway (and who can blame him?).

Bert was saying one of the main stumbling blocks was that Kasper doesn't want to go to Hull anyway (and who can blame him?). I thought Bert said that if he'd wanted to go to Hull he would have handed in a transfer request. So that's Bert assuming that he doesn't want to go to Hull because of this.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Do you think Pearson doesn't care about getting Kasper signed up at the minute? All he cares about is having him for this 1 season. Then either Leicester don't get promoted and he gets sacked so he isn't bothered if Kasper leaves on a free. Or he gets Leicester promoted keeps his job and then offer Kasper an extension? Worrying really, IMO we need to give tell Pearson he has a long time so he does actually build a good side.

NP knows the score promotion or goodbye, I think we will get promotion next season the dissapointment last season should provide impetus for the players to push on now like other teams who have suffered playoff heartache in the past i.e Reading and Cardiff
Babylon Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 NP knows the score promotion or goodbye I think FFP may have changed this outlook a bit now.
Mack Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Dull can **** off. They acted like spoilt kids after Pearson left, now they want Kasper cut price. Jog on!
Johnny Cash Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 As soon as we find out he is 'staying', half of you are suddenly trying to push him out of the door...
muzzy1981 Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Hobbs would be ok but think Nige would rather sign someone like Chester or get a keane standard player on loan. Basically a player a notch up from hobbs. Therefore imo we should try to keep kasper and do as above

Therefore imo we should try to keep kasper and do as above Of course he'd rather sign Chester than Hobbs, but it isn't going to happen as he's one of their best players, they are in the league above us and he would command a transfer fee that we couldn't afford
Danizen Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 It won't be the crisis people are predicting if Kasper leaves on a free. He will give his all for us next season regardless of what happens. We're more likely to get promoted with him in the nets than somebody average like Luke Steele.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Hull will be back with a better package! 3m plus a player may just do it
LCFC FOX Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Hull will be back with a better package! 3m plus a player may just do it 3mil and Hobbs I would easily take Or even 2mil + Hobbs and Koren
ealingfox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 For all we know the Thais have already worked out a way to diddle FFP...
Danizen Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 For all we know the Thais have already worked out a way to diddle FFP... They better had. At least that way they will be earning their 8%.
hackneyfox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 What makes me smile is all the boolocks from Tanner earlier this week about how The Mercury only print the truth and not rumours. They've now made out that the club have turned down all offers and he is staying when it seems that it is Schmeichel who doesn't want to go to Hull but may well jump at the chance of a decent Premier side.
StrovolosTiger Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Hull will be back with a better package! 3m plus a player may just do it Don't think so. Rumour has it we're now looking at David Forde and we have already had a bid for McGregor accepted.
