Ozwin Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 I don't want a man with no standards like that anywhere near our club. It better not be us.
Finnegan Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 I reckon Poyet has been talking to someone and wants to resign so the future club don't have to pay Brighton anything. They've cottoned on to it and aren't having any of it. Spot on. I don't want a man with no standards like that anywhere near our club. It better not be us. I highly doubt it. When we sacked Sven they took a couple of weeks to make the right appointment, that strikes me as how our board work. With a little more class and a bit of thought, given they've got the whole summer I doubt they'll tap someone up while Pearson's still here. I imagine if they do let Nigel go then it'll be a reasonable turn around before someone else steps in, unless they have a very narrow window in which to get an exceptional manager (an O'Neill or Di Matteo.)
LJS Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 True. It's not like the current incumbent was speaking to us when managing another club.
Munshi Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 BBC Sport â€@BBCSport33s Brighton hold an inquiry into whether Poyet breached his contract by telling players he could offer no guarantee on his club future #bhafc

I don't think Poyet is heading here but the owners had Sven in very quickly after Sousa was sacked and I think most people acknowledge that the time it took to replace him when he was sacked was a bit shambolic. It gave every impression, perhaps correctly, that Pearson wasn't the first choice.I think it's far more likely that they'd act quickly, sound out potential candidates, and hope to have somebody immediately following the sacking of Pearson should that be what they choose to do.

wurmer Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Nigel is not going anywhere, sorry folks, like it or not.

Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 It does seem odd must have a job lined up or wants a job question is which club?
BCFCAndrew Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Does Bert know any/more information on this? I'm having that small feeling that it's to do with us..... You are interested in him yes
Wymsey Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 You are interested in him yes Can you expand further? (Who said it, etc....)
BCFCAndrew Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Can you expand further? (Who said it, etc....) Just that he is on the boards radar. As I said on the other thread, when I came on that time and said about Pearson, both parties wanted it.All I know is, if Pearson goes, they are interested in Poyet and he will be number 1 target. No idea if he is intrested
Tielemans63 Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Makes sense - replace a playoff semi final losing manager with er...a playoff semi final losing manager. Massive improvement.
StanSP Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Apparently 'we hate Palace' was smeared with faecal matter in the away dressing room at the Amex while the first half was being played in the 2nd leg. Who smears their own stadium with shit ?

rico Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 they have poppers instead of air freshners in the changing rooms......well thats the rumour i heard!
Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Poyet is on par with NP in terms of managerial achievement both have won league one and leading there teams to the playoffs, he wouldn't be a significant improvement on NP such as the likes of MON or Di Matteo. However Poyet does play football the right way and if the owners decide he is the right man for the job then so be it.
Libertine Dream Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 Just had a text from somebody from down that way to say we have an interest in him. Personally I can't imagine Poyet would risk losing his job at Brighton for us so there's obviously further interest elsewhere. I also see him as no better than NP, in fact apart from the style of play I can't see what he offers. He has spent a fair bit of money there, brought in older players and not youngsters like us, poor tactically and has shown a lack of respect. No point in getting rid of Nige for him
MPH Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 It doesn't really matter to me if we are interested in him or not.... Would would really surprise me is. with the ambition he has publicly stated he has, that he would switch one championship club for another.... I got the impression the whole purpose of what he said was to get released from his contract to try and get a move to a prem team for next season
john ridley Posted 16 May 2013 Posted 16 May 2013 dont think it'll be him coming here anyway ,brighton want 2.5 million in compo for starters
DanTheFox07 Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 dont think it'll be him coming here anyway ,brighton want 2.5 million in compo for starters This!
MPH Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 dont think it'll be him coming here anyway ,brighton want 2.5 million in compo for starters They'll get nothing near it. The alternative is they will be left with a manager who has alienated the fans, the board and the players... and then they would have to still pay his wages. They probably won't get more than 3-400 k
