Kasper Schmeichel

If his kicking direction/speed and his crossing-catching ability were better, we would be in a top 10 Premier League team.

Anyone notice how Hull fans conveniently forget that they approached Pearson while he was our manager?  And how they were crowing that they had poached our manager, when the truth was, the club did nothing to keep him?

Anyway, ancient history.

I think Schmeichel's real strength is shot-stopping.  He has performed some genuinely stunning saves this season.  But...I've noticed a vulnerability from distance too.  He also is not commanding in his box, choosing often to palm the ball away rather than catching the thing.

I wonder whether it might be a good thing to trade some of Schmeichel's shot-stopping ability for someone better able to pluck crosses out of the air?

I don't mind if we sell Kasper for the right price, but if I were the board I would categorically refuse to do business with Hull City after all the shit they've given us over the NP affair. And if they are desperate to sign any of our players, I'd stick at least 50% extra on the asking price. Give the bitter bastards a taste of their own medicine.

Think he means goals conceded from balls whipped in from a close-range free-kick rather than conceded directly from a free-kick.

I did indeed, no point kidding ourselves, the only way kasper will improve is playing in the top flight weekly, he is a quality goalkeeper with huge potential, like every young player he has areas he could improve on, maybe one more season in the championship is what he needs before returning to he premier league, lets not forget he already has some PL experience!

Had a dream about him last night. Was standing outside his house (which, as it happens, was actually my house in real life) with an assorted bunch of lcfc fans and media, all waiting around for him to appear. It was getting dark and there was a whispy fog in the cold air. Kasper came out of the house in a tracksuit and was asked if he was leaving. It was evident that the reason everyone was waiting around outside his house was to find out the answer to that question. Kasper looked at us smugly, with a little smirk, and as he walked through the crowd he started chanting, to the tune of "you don't know what you're doing, you don't know what you're doing", he started chanting "there's always Kevin Poole, there's always Kevin Poole". I took this to mean he is planning to leave.

Conclusive evidence I'm sure you'll agree.

If Kasper goes it will be to further his career.

He cant do that at Dull.

Not sure what you mean?

Would you rather get occasionally tested by the likes of Waghorn, Harewood, Glenn Murray.....

Or get regularly tested by Rooney, Van Persie, Defoe, and Suarez etc?

What I mean is getting peppered for one season in goal for Dull then back down wont get him anywhere.

IF he goes he will want it to be to an established top flight club.

We would not have been anywhere near the playoffs without him, simple as that.

Going to Hull would not be right for him though.

Schmeichel could do with another season in the Championship before being exposed to the demands of the Prem although it could well have been a different story.

Like all players he has his strengths and weaknesses and to go into the Prem now would see a good goalkeeper become ordinary. Depends on where he went he could either get battered every week or be on the bench just like Logan and there is absolutely no point in that.

Don't mind selling him but to anyone in the Premier League but Hull after they refused to do business with us

hope we keep Kasper, people will only realise how good he's been once he's gone and we are stuck with a genuinely poor keeper again....

There are plenty of decent keepers out there if we need to replace him, I think Luke Steele at Barnsley would be a great shout if Kasper does go.

The more I think about it, the more Im coming to the conclusion that it would take some absolutely top coaching to iron out the weaknesses in Kasper... But its very do-able and it would turn him into an absolutely top class keeper.

Yet at the same time a top class team might not consider him ready to be a 1st teamer.

I think the writing is on the cards for us to get a 4m bid from Man Utd for him to be back up there for a season and then emerge.

I remember when he was 3rd choice at Man City a few seasons back and got several games in a row... He certainly didn't let anyone down and maybe im romanticizing my memory of it, but im sure he got a couple of MOTM's in that period...

I can't believe that his dad, one of the best goalkeepers of all time, hasn't been coaching him his whole life - apparently he's never really taken any advice or training off his old man.

Don't be a tit.

He already is a very good keeper. But do you think his dad Lived in Nottingham with him when he was at Notts County? Or maybe he shacked up with him when he was at Leeds? Or Maybe Peter Lives in his spare room here in Leicester!?

To become a top class keeper , a Goalkeeper needs top class FULL TIME keeping, not advice over the phone or over the family meal table.

Shot stopper but Im sure logan can kick it further ie. a direct shot on goal so logan it is and money in the bank of thailand

Eh? Logan ain't keeping goal for us, no sir-ee.

What concerns me is Pearson's ability to sign another goalkeeper who is just as good as Kasper.

I might be wrong here but in both of Pearson's spells here he only signed Chris Weale permanently and his spell at Hull all his goalkeepers were loan signings.

He couldnt have been that bad in the Premiership Sven said there was nothing between him and Joe Hart at Man City and he ended up picking Hart over Kasper because he was older and an inch taller
