Dan Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Love Suarez as a player. But I can't believe he did what he did today when he was pretending to be injured then got straight up when Liverpool were on the attack. Utterly disgusting. The longer shit like that goes unpunished and hardly even spoken of, the longer players will continue their snidey shithouse behaviour. It's absolutely ****ing pathetic in football that we fail to retrospectively punish players who dive, feign injury and simulate. Chuck some bans in and watch their 'injuries' miraculously not ever happen.
Bert Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 I could name about 5 players who do it week in and week out. Only because he is the best player in the league and he's not English and playing for Liverpool, he receives the shitty end of the stick. I don't care what he does. When he's got the ball, he demolishes anyone who's in front of him and dicks them about. Don't try and defend him when he does shit like that, it's just embarrassing. I'd be just as annoyed had it have been a Leicester or England player that had done that. It's things like this that make people not like him. Totally agree.
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Suarez is a gifted player. One of the most naturally talented players I've seen in years. As a bloke, he has always seemed like a total and utter arse-wipe and a disgrace to football in terms of his pathetic fookin diving. If he was just average for Liverpool, he'd be long gone. The world of football is a cynical, two-faced one and his 'misdemeanours' are nicely overlooked by the club because he's a sensational footballer. I could name about 5 players who do it week in and week out. Only because he is the best player in the league and he's not English and playing for Liverpool, he receives the shitty end of the stick. I don't care what he does. When he's got the ball, he demolishes anyone who's in front of him and dicks them about. What a terrible attitude...
Dan Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 Come on. Suarez is worse than the vast majority. I think the one who suffered from it because of his ability was Ronaldo. He's a baby on the pitch at times and he was a diver himself but he's never gone to some of the lengths Suarez has. Suarez is correctly vilified.

If Suarez played for Leicester, you wouldn't be saying that. You would be defending him also. I wouldn't swap him for anybody.
Mark_w Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 If Suarez played for Leicester, you wouldn't be saying that. You would be defending him also. I wouldn't swap him for anybody. If Suarez played for Leicester I'd feel ashamed and embarrassed to support Leicester. I quite like Liverpool, and if it wasn't for the thought of him winning the league, I'd be relatively happy for you. He's clearly a vile human being, a cheat (though he's not the only one) and the sooner he leaves English football the better.

Stuliasz Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 If Suarez played for Leicester, you wouldn't be saying that. You would be defending him also. I wouldn't swap him for anybody. I was giving Mahrez some stick for exaggerating his 'injury' from Benoit Assou-Ekotto's first tackle on Saturday. Don't like to see it from City players at all and certainly wouldn't overlook it on the basis of talent. The saddest thing is it's always the most gifted players who seem to do it, and they are the ones who have the least need for it. Don't get me wrong I enjoy watching Suarez play but it's unnecessarily tarnished by antics such as those today. How it can be defended, even by Liverpool fans I have no idea.
kingfox Posted 20 April 2014 Posted 20 April 2014 The team bar 3/4 additions Moyes built you mean? Yep McCarthy, Barry, Deulofeu & Lukaku have all been excellent signings, Martinez has probably only made one bad signing this season and that's Kone. But look how the likes of Seamus Coleman have improved under Martinez this season, these were good players under Moyes, but under Martinez they are starting to look like great players, players who you can say are probably in the top five in their respective positions. Seamus Coleman has probably been the best right-back in the league this season, he has given Stones a chance as Jagielka is out injured and he has been immense, Mirallas is adding more goals to his game, Naismith has improved dramatically, while he has also given Ross Barkley his real breakthrough. Terrific manager, him & Rodgers best two managers in the Premier League this season by a mile.

Well done Riyad, you've drawn and won the foul now why are you rolling around on the floor like a tart?

I didn't see what Berts referring to but you're not denying it either. Just accept that it was out of order and there's no place for that in football. I personally can't wait to see RDL take him out
Carlos88LCFC Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 This has to be one of the best premier league seasons I can remember, top and bottom.... Sunderland vs Cardiff, Chelsea vs Liverpool next up... woah! Not a team thats spent a daft amount of money on imports at the top of the prem.... Quality! Really hope Cardiff stay up, hate the club but love Ole... And Liverpool deserve to win the prem, routing for them 100%... They have done it with young english talent, Gerrard deserves to win the prem as well.. Nice article about him being the best defensive midfielder in Europe and I agree. His vision, work rate, leadership, tackling, goal scoring ability... the list goes on... Rodgers deserves to be knighted, he's turned Liverpool around and if they buy some quality in the summer I can see them being one of the greats again! Seen a lot of things in common with us and Liverpool this season, same style of play, same tempo, the same type of players and a manager who knows what he is doing tactic wise. Saying that, I can see them beating or at least getting a draw at Chelsea but Palace away will be the tough one... They are in great form, Pullis has done a wonder job there as well.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 OGS is the only thing I like about Cardiff. Really hope they come down
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27096737 This annoys me with Liverpool so much. I'm not wanting to be disrespectful of the 96 and I like Brendan Rodgers. He's clearly liked by their fans due to the season they're having so why start saying all this too. And a, 'celebration football match for the 96'?? Talk about milking it

Chuck some bans in and watch their 'injuries' miraculously not ever happen. Players have to dive. It's sad but true. If a player stays on his feet the referee doesn't give anything, if he goes down he wins a penalty for his team. That's a fact. See Jarvis against Arsenal last week as an example, clear penalty but he stays on his feet and gets nothing.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Diving I can live with to a certain extent, it's the ridiculous rolling around pretending to be injured that pisses me off.

The only person I'm seeing genuine emotion from is Gerrard - for everyone else in the public eye it seems to be a case of "I'm sadder than you are". Giroud's "tribute" was bizarre if it had anything to do with Hillsborough and even it wasn't, that's not important - all the press cares about is that it appears to be about Hillsborough at face value.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 How bad was Mahrez on Saturday? Thought he'd end up getting himself in the book, thankfully he seemed to stop diving. Agreed he was bad on Saturday although I've not seen him do it too much before that. His rolls after the assou-ekotto tackle were embarrasing, I was watching on TV and had to turn over.
bovril Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 The thing is with Suarez, if it was just the diving then we could say, yeah everyone does it to a certain extent. But it's not just the diving is it? The guy is disgusting, and after the Ivanovic incident last year most Liverpool fans I know were calling for him to be sold. Obviously their tune has changed now.
Stadt Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 The Giroud thing was a 'nice gesture' but it was just emotional point scoring and maybe it's just me being cynical but it's unnecessary. When will tributes stop? the 100 year anniversary? 200 years? It's obviously a very touchy subject but perhaps the best thing to do now is move on after the 2nd commission presents it's findings.

Football is oooooooozing with hypocrisy. If Suarez was just an average footballer, the scousers would have booted him out the backdoor of Anfield ages ago with a 'get out mate' ringing in his ears.

I'm all for tributes and remembering, nothing wrong at all for me, but I think what the FA get wrong is not remembering any other disaster. I mean, we're soon approaching the 29 year anniversary of the Bradford fire and will that be all over the news and everything? No. But I don't want to restart all this. It's life and death at the end of the day and regardless of what I think, you think or Joe Public thinks, people went to a football match and somehow died.

Actually the Bradford fire got a bit of coverage a few years back on the 25th anniversary. Not quite Hillsborough level of coverage but still got some. Hillsborough doesn't get this much coverage every year, and when the 29th anniversary of it rolls around I expect the coverage to comparable to Bradford. Also Bradford is done and dusted, we know what happened, so only special anniversaries will bring up talk of it, the fall out from Hillsborough is still very much relevant. The news aren't so much talking about it in terms of remembrance but in terms of justice.
