The Doctor Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Bloody hell, you don't want to be late to a west brom match...
marko Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Great goal but all that came from a woeful City freekick.
isaidno Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Brilliant goal by Dorrans , city paid the price for a terrible free kick
Matt Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 WBA fans not turning up tonight (Not many of them anyway) as they are protesting against ticket pricing at City, £50 for tonight. Monday night (Regardless of it being Bank Holiday, people go back to work tomorrow), on Sky, £50? Nah. Joke. Will we be boycotting certain games next season? As much as i'd like to go to City, doubt i'd pay £50, certainly not on a Monday night on Sky, City are actually quite low ranking on where I want to go next season anyway, Liverpool, United, Everton, Arsenal are ahead of them atleast, I could probably say a few other aways before City aswell.
leicesterisme Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Will we be boycotting certain games next season? Absolutely no chance of everyone doing that, there will be still some who are more than happy to pay whatever they have to and labelling themselves 'loyal supporters'
lcfcsnow Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Good on West Brom fans boycotting the ever increasing disgraceful ticket prices.
Matt Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Absolutely no chance of everyone doing that, there will be still some who are more than happy to pay whatever they have to and labelling themselves 'loyal supporters' Obviously but say only 50 or even 100 go it'd still send out abit of a message to greedy clubs. City 3 - 1 WBA. Demichelis.
Fox92 Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Always rated Dorrans, great bit of technique for the goal.
westernpark Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Always rated Dorrans, great bit of technique for the goal. He's definitely a confidence player.
Unabomber Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Hope WBA get a goal here to liven the last 20 up a little.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Atmosphere at Man City seems rubbish these days.
Unabomber Posted 21 April 2014 Posted 21 April 2014 Atmosphere at Man City seems rubbish these days. Yeah very poor, it's like they don't know what to do as they should really be winning the league with the amount they spend but they're not doing too badly that it warrants abuse which seems to lead to silence most home games.

Sums it up well. Also strange how none of the top teams this season seem to be able to control a game in the latter stages even against pisspoor opposition.
Grandad. Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 Not a mile ahead of Pulis or Bruce There's a massive difference between Rodgers and Martinez compared to Bruce and Pulis, the first two are managers managing and coaching players, the other two are managers who will always be managing teams in Premier League dog fights and grinding out wins, will Pulis or Bruce ever manage a top Premier League side? I doubt it. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27096737 This annoys me with Liverpool so much. I'm not wanting to be disrespectful of the 96 and I like Brendan Rodgers. He's clearly liked by their fans due to the season they're having so why start saying all this too. And a, 'celebration football match for the 96'?? Talk about milking it What an absolute bellend. Milking it? A charity match? Wow. Low.
Grandad. Posted 22 April 2014 Posted 22 April 2014 The funny thing is Suarez didn't dive, Fer did take him out, hence the Referee playing advantage. The thing you don't like is how he went down and got back up, fair enough, I agree I didn't like it either but stop saying he dived, clearly wasn't.
Dan Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 If Suarez played for Leicester, you wouldn't be saying that. You would be defending him also. I wouldn't swap him for anybody. Stop assuming you know me or can read my mind you clown.
Dan Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Players have to dive. It's sad but true. If a player stays on his feet the referee doesn't give anything, if he goes down he wins a penalty for his team. That's a fact. See Jarvis against Arsenal last week as an example, clear penalty but he stays on his feet and gets nothing. Players don't 'have' to dive. What 'has' to happen is players getting retrospectively punished for diving. Can anyone name a single argument against it? Matt Jarvis not getting a penalty at Arsenal last week summed up all wrong with refereeing.
Grandad. Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Suarez didn't dive, can we just settle this please?
Finnegan Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Suarez didn't dive, can we just settle this please? Pretty sure everyone will agree to that if you agree that, regardless of which other players do the same, he acted like a complete ****ing fanny baws afterwards.

Can anyone name a single argument against it? Matt Jarvis not getting a penalty at Arsenal last week summed up all wrong with refereeing. I cannot name an argument against punishing players for diving, no. I am in agreement with you again but what I meant by saving 'have' is he fact that referees do not give penalties if a player stays on his feet instead of going down. Referees, or the FA, don't punish these players who dive. So in a way, there's no other option but to dive. I think so anyway. Using Jarvis as the example still, he is honest and fair play to him for that. So he is fouled by Sagna, and it is a foul, anywhere on the pitch and that's a free kick. What does Jarvis do? Stays on his feet. What happens? The ball eventually goes out of play. On the other hand, if Jarvis decides to dive (or not dive because it was a foul) then he gets a deserved penalty for West Ham. It could change the game. I'd love to see a game where the referee gives the penalty correctly. But it doesn't work like that and we've seen before that players are not rewarded for staying on their feet. In a way, they do get rewarded. They get a 'well done Matt Jarvis' (or whoever it is) but that's it. They go home and think that should have been a penalty, just like us fans do. Which is why players have to go down in reality, to win the deserved penalty. I know for a fact that if we're winning or drawing at Arsenal (or anywhere) next season, and one of our players gets a knock from Sagna or any opposition player then I shout 'go down' not 'stay on your feet we might score but it's not as likely as if we'd have a penalty'. It's how football is these days.
Grandad. Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Pretty sure everyone will agree to that if you agree that, regardless of which other players do the same, he acted like a complete ****ing fanny baws afterwards. I said earlier in the thread it wasn't nice to see but I mean this when I say this as well, any player would of done the same and if anyone says they wouldn't have then they are a liar. Suarez was clearly fouled, went down (theatrically, I know) and then got up because we were on the attack.
Stadt Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 Everybody over-exaggerates their injuries, not many people have too much of an issue with that, however it's how he went down - he acted like he had broken his leg and but was a serious injury but then he literally leapt up in to action and sprinted down the pitch. It's not against the rules (I don't think) but what he did is disgusting.
Grandad. Posted 23 April 2014 Posted 23 April 2014 I forgot we were able to tell what Suarez was trying to imply was wrong with him from going down, a broken leg eh? They all go down and get back up, like I've always said about diving and what not, get bloody used to it, you're going to experience it even more so in the Premier League next season and you're going to do nothing to stop it. Unfortunately it is part and parcel in the game now.
