DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Ha ha ha hilarious. The players were so upset that the fantastic Sven was being sacked they deliberately lost 8-1 to MIDDLESBOROUGH. I really have 'seen it all' now You absolute cretin I don't think for one minute that they deliberately lost, but his sacking obviously was a fairly important factor of that inept performance Even an "absolute cretin" could see that.

Oh come on .... It's obvious that a manager should be held accountable for the performances AFTER he left the club .... It's why Sven still gets blamed now by the Pearsonites.
5waller5 Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 It's all opinion .... but mine is that Sven did care.... he seemed to care a lot - being unable to choke back the tears when he was sacked. He's not the mercenary people like to make out either .... he could have been paid by Notts County, but put them out of business in the process so he gracefully tore up his contractual rights. It's my opinion that the guy made a great start, over compensated for a few things that he just needed to tinker, was a little stubborn sometimes .... and ultimately tried to go in a different direction to get us success he'd turned left and then right .... he just needed to straighten up and hit the middle ground ... but he was sacked first. Maybe the whole experience has made me disinterested in NP (who bores me to tears) .... I genuinely made the mistake earlier of thinking we failed to reach the play offs - the season was that memorable!!!!!!! There's never much balance on a football forum .... but the sven is bad, nige is good argument is a little too simplistic!!!!

Isn't that just a more polite way of saying he fvcked up? Maybe the whole experience has made me disinterested in NP (who bores me to tears) .... I genuinely made the mistake earlier of thinking we failed to reach the play offs - the season was that memorable!!!!!!! Ahh, right, so because you forgot we were in the playoffs a few weeks ago, the season wasn't a good one. If you can forget what happened that recently, maybe you're also forgetting things from a bit longer ago, like Sven's Leicester side not being all that great or the cash that was spunked up the wall on useless players such as Michael Ball and Fat Johnno at the time? There's never much balance on a football forum .... but the sven is bad, nige is good argument is a little too simplistic!!!! Whereas the "Nige is bad, Sven is good" argument isn't.
Guest MattP Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 It's all opinion .... but mine is that Sven did care.... he seemed to care a lot - being unable to choke back the tears when he was sacked. His tears on the radio sounded like Mick and Maraid Philpott's at their police press conference.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Why do all the discussion threads on Foxestalk always turn into a dispute about our previous/present managers?
5waller5 Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Why do all the discussion threads on Foxestalk always turn into a dispute about our previous/present managers? Because everyone must like Nigel otherwise the gestapo will not sleep!!!! I would like to know what happened to Dave Richards though!!!!

No, the season wasn't a good one because we failed to get the only target we set - promotion, as well as go on one of the worst runs in the clubs history.
Dan Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 I'm not that bothered who the manager is, tbh. I care mainly about how well I think we're doing in the league relative to the club's current financial state. Who are these Nige fans who are happy to be in this division playing shite football? We've been closer to reaching the PL far more often under NP than we were under Sven. The people who don't hate NP recognise this. We have played some pretty drab football under NP, but for most of last season, there was a dramatic improvement. We played some good football under Sven, but only when we had a team made up of borrowed PL players. It wasn't great at the end of that season, and carried on that way until Sven was sacked. I don't think anyone really craves mediocrity, as you put it. I just think they'd rather the future of the club they love was never risked for a stab at a bit of short-term success. Whoever's fault it was, the effects of the Sven era are hampering our ambitions for a long while yet, and what do we have to show for it? Absolutely fvck all is what.
Dan Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 Oh come on .... It's obvious that a manager should be held accountable for the performances AFTER he left the club .... It's why Sven still gets blamed now by the Pearsonites. True. I mean it's not like this club suffers a bit from the obscene wages he handed out.
5waller5 Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 True. I mean it's not like this club suffers a bit from the obscene wages he handed out. As I've just put in a different thread ..... the obscene wages??? £20m is being quoted .... to get a prize worth £120m...... seems like fair value to me.
Raw Dykes Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 As I've just put in a different thread ..... the obscene wages??? £20m is being quoted .... to get a prize worth £120m...... seems like fair value to me. The wages are obscene. We have a lot of highly paid players who never make the first team. We could save a huge wedge by getting rid, without affecting the actual playing staff whatsoever.

Why isn't everyone doing it then? And why are we desperately trying to get rid of the high wage players? If you think Danns, Beckford et al represent 'fair value' then you're tapped in the head.

There's never much balance on a football forum .... but the sven is bad, nige is good argument is a little too simplistic!!!! How about the hundreds of arguments put forward to support this with several very valid points then? If you can't remember where we finished less than 2 months ago then that's your fault, no one elses. You must be a goldfish. It's got nothing to do with us being boring, how could you possibly forget the Forest or Watford matches? If you're so disinterested in him why do you talk about him so much?
Kitchandro Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 No, the season wasn't a good one because we failed to get the only target we set - promotion, as well as go on one of the worst runs in the clubs history. But we also (twice, I think) went on the joint best runs in our history. Or at least one of the best.

But he got absolutely no where near that prize! Don't you get that that is the point we are making? He spent it so poorly we were left with a side who weren't even good enough for the play-offs. So to sum up, we were shit, lost a load of money, didn't bring in any money, in debt, still in this league, not so shit with Pearson.
Guest Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 I don't think I've ever seen so many ignore messages on one page as this one

The celebrations that happen because we're not quite so shit under Pearson ..... It somehow makes him the messiah and above criticism ... and yet in your own words, we're just slightly less shit!!!! I don't think Sven was given enough time - if he'd have finished the job he started we could know the outcome .... NP has had more time and achieved little .... just enough to warrant a dozen games next season to see how he gets on .... And then for me it all starts again with a new name in the debate. At least we'll have changed round and I'll be backing the new manager and you will be justifying why the old one wasn't given enough time .... It'll be quite entertaining!

MC Prussian Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Because everyone must like Nigel otherwise the gestapo will not sleep!!!! I would like to know what happened to Dave Richards though!!!! The majority on here has come to the conclusion that Pearson is human after all - and prone to mistakes, just like everybody else. Nobody forces anyone to "like" Pearson. I don't have to like the guy to see that he's done a good job so far, given certain monetary circumstances. You can harp on about your "gestapo", I'll still be laughing at the thought of 5waller5 going nuts in front of his PC screen whilst typing all these angry ramblings!
