Dan Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 A career? Seriously? They all use these nonsense technical terms I've noticed. Literally every bog standard job tries to claim it's a 'career'
Larry_LCFC Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I won't get the catering vacancy one. I speak English and can enthusiastically pour a pint. The sales assistant one looks good though, I'll get match tickets ahead of everyone else who have queued overnight again. Thats a good point. They should advertise it as a perk ~ Sneak ahead of loyal, dedicated STH and buy away tickets for you friends and long lost relatives for important matches. A Leicester City exclusive!
Dan Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Thats a good point. They should advertise it as a perk ~ Sneak ahead of loyal, dedicated STH and buy away tickets for you friends and long lost relatives for important matches. A Leicester City exclusive! Needs sorting out big time although it won't be.
Langley Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Am I looking for a job pointing people where to park their cars?
Merging Cultures Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 While I am sure most people are not dreaming of making these jobs their life long careers, we should still respect the fact that a lot of people are looking for work and I am sure would be great for the opportunity for a reliable income.
Foxes1 Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Does anyone know if there is a vacancy for a website technician, looking for someone to update the OS as and when required, as there never seems to be any news put on it.
LeicesterLuke91 Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 I was a steward for a season. It had its perks, free football and getting paid. Bad points, freezing cold and rain. Oh and the occasional idiot too
sylofox Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 I demand a 3 year contract and 30k a week......hell it worked for some a few seasons back You pratt they were offering 45K aweek
StanSP Posted 26 June 2013 Posted 26 June 2013 Does anyone know if there is a vacancy for a website technician, looking for someone to update the OS as and when required, as there never seems to be any news put on it. Yeah, have a look on the OS. Oh wait...
MooseBreath Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Nothing wrong with starting at the bottom and working your way up. All the best managers have grass roots experience. People mocking these jobs is a sad reflection on society really. You get more respect (and money) being unemployed than doing an honest job.
SystonFox Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 I agree with Moosey (strange?!!!) for once. How can you mock people who choose not to go for these jobs cos they don't earn 40k a year and sign big cheques and control a team of 500 people like all you Richard Bransons and Alan Sugars out there!

Where's the career progression in being a car park attendant? Do you eventually get to sit in the little booth? And no-one is mocking the jobs, just mocking the way that LCFC are advertising it like it's some amazing opportunity - it's not, it's pointing at cars.

I very much agree. I can first hand tell anyone how hard it is for youngsters to get jobs now. I'll never mock unemployed people my age because I've seen for myself how hard it is.

Guy Posted 27 June 2013 Posted 27 June 2013 Car park attendant.......hmm let me see.....! You're there to be abused, shot at, frowned at, you are expected by your employer to go out of your way to inconvenience people just going about their matchday business, you are expected to constantly play the jobsworth and flash the "health and safety" card about when need be - and in all weathers on minimum wage and the incentive of £10 a week in working tax credits............ooooh so tempting but "nanks"!!

kylestyle06 Posted 28 June 2013 Posted 28 June 2013 But to be fair if they was to advertise the job like that they'd get no applications. So I can see why they've tried to make it sound a decent job, and you will get some people happily do that so it's worked

I'd imagine crowd logistics is actually pretty big business. Start as a car park attendant, become the manager, then move up the levels.
broughtonblue Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 So did anyone go for any of these jobs. And did you get them?
kyleolly Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 I went for the car park attendant job but didn't get it because I'd been in prison for vehicle theft, pathetic!
HitchinFox Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 I demand a 3 year contract and 30k a week......hell it worked for some a few seasons back That's why they are looking to replace Jermaine. He's been drifting in and out of the car park, occasionally pointing lazily just past the actual parking spots, resulting in the cars missing their spaces and making everybody confused and angry. He was only ever interested during FA Cup match days for some reason, when he'd turn up early for his shift, make everybody a round of tea, then dash out and get all the vehicles immaculately lined up. He once even managed to get three cars in one spot.
Guest Bilo Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Shot at?! That's what I thought. Unless we employ the car park attendants at the City Ground now, I'd say that outcome was highly unlikely. I'd imagine crowd logistics is actually pretty big business. Start as a car park attendant, become the manager, then move up the levels. Surely stewarding would be a better route into this seeing as you can pick up NVQs/BTECs along the way?
Father Ted Posted 3 July 2013 Posted 3 July 2013 So did anyone go for any of these jobs. And did you get them? Went for the fanstore one. They said that you can't have a season ticket and the job so I walked out. Pricks could have told me that first.
