Bert Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Hang on let me think about this... Option A) Accommodate average players who are inferior to players we have/had like Morgan/Keane/Wood/Nugent, just because they have been incredibly overpaid. Option B) 'Alienate' average players who are simply no better than the alternatives we have and try as best you can to get their ridiculous wages off the wage bill so that we can look at reinvesting that money in a much more sensible manner to sign superior players. Think I'll take B. Good plan, alienate said "average" players (would love to see you do better) and have an unhappy camp. Believe it or not, it can upset the morale of the squad when they see their mates get treated like dirt.

Believe it or not, it can upset the morale of the squad when they see their mates get treated like dirt. Treated like dirt or overpaid footballers who aren't good enough and/or don't have the right attitude? Is this about St Ledger being a 'top lad' and being able to sink a few pints?
Finnegan Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 End of the day, Nigel brought in Knockaert. In the transfer market, that's like inventing chocolate. If you invented chocolate, you can have plenty of shit inventions for all I care. Edible pencil sharpener? Razor blade back massager? Fluorescent ninja suit? I don't give a ****, you still invented chocolate. /argument.
5waller5 Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 How do you mean stamps his authority on the club? Things like not playing certain players, sending them out on loan, maybe refusing to talk to certain journalists? That sort of thing? No, I meant achieving the targets on pitch, winning, gaining promotion that sort of stuff.
Webbo Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 No, I meant achieving the targets on pitch, winning, gaining promotion that sort of stuff. That's not stamping your authority. You can stamp your authority on a club without winning promotion.
Tubbymofo Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 I agree that would seem obvious to someone, like yourself, with half a brain. I have a whole brain, so know a huge amount more. I wouldn't normally call someone a dick for having a different opinion but every post I've seen of yours you're just trying to start a pointless argument don't know why maybe it helps you feel better about yourself and get over whatever shit life has thrown out you or you're just bored either way in my opinion your a dick And before someone gets upset over my spelling or lack of punctuation I'm dyslexic sorry not my fault xxx
Webbo Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 And before someone gets upset over my spelling or lack of punctuation I'm dyslexic sorry not my fault xxx It's actually spelt xxxx
Brauny Fox Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 Look, the 'truth' is he was bought in to get us promoted, he didn't. Pearson was brought in to get us promoted, he hasn't. Budgets, squads, fees, wages etc are, in the grand scheme of things, a distraction. Both men had one job to do and thus far both men have failed. The most sensible post on the thread... Anything else is an aside. This. Now either close the thread or rename it 'an evening with William Boast'.
Tubbymofo Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 It's actually spelt xxxx Dang I tried xxxx first but it didn't look right so went with xxx

Brauny Fox Posted 29 June 2013 Posted 29 June 2013 I think his mum put him to bed a couple of hours ago ! I hope you're right mate! Lets hope she confiscates his computer for a week or so for not finishing his porridge in the morning too!

Some don't realise this idiot in charge as failed, he will continue to fail because we have seen what he does and how he fails, he is clueless. All the other arguments mean nothing, they are excuses, anyone with a brain cell should see where we are going wrong, theres enough fans who can see this, otherwise there wouldn't be this constant argument about the useless one. I don't think there was a manager in this division at the start of last season who wouldn't have wanted to be in Pearsons position with squad and back up, but the clown made a total pigs ear of the job, and lots of people thought this might happen because they have seen in the past what the fool does as a football manager. (should that be an excuse for a football manager).
BNET Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 No, because they're not interested in that. I'm sure he would have used them as squad players if they didn't start kicking off and start looking for a move away. This is what you don't seem to understand - these players aren't interested in working hard for their place, if they were why wouldn't Pearson use them? Their egos are to big for that, that's why they got shipped out. That is perfectly obvious to anyone with half a brain and that's what people have been trying to explain for the last year. Do try to keep up. No, because they're not interested in that. I'm sure he would have used them as squad players if they didn't start kicking off and start looking for a move away. MC Prussian Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 Unfortunately the bickering will continue because we are still under-performing and failing .... and the scape goat is currently the guy that managed a few seasons ago now. When NP is sacked it will then be him ..... Unless we have a decent manager that comes in, does what a decent manager does and stamps his authority on the club, makes a difference and achieves promotion. Who says we're underperforming? Just a minority of fans with the "we'll never do well" attitude, you included. We're not failing. I'd like to see you turn this ship around with all the deadwood and financial heavyweights and debts included. It's not an easy task and certainly not one that you can complete in the space of a few months only. I'd like you to "make a difference" and see where you go from there... We have a manager who is more than just decent. If you have an issue with the person Nigel Pearson, then you better deal with it yourself. He's still the better option with a better track record and winning percentage than many of the predecessors as well as the alternatives on the market. You do not stamp your authority on the club in one season only - you need more time than that. Remember how many years it took Ferguson to achieve anything with Manchester United? Four years for the first cup win, six years until the first league title!

Or does this just suit your defence of the useless one ? One would suppose the players picked for the starting eleven as well as the bench are a) the ones fit enough b) the ones mentally strong enough c) the ones fitting the manager's style of play d) the ones who have no quarrels with the manager There you have it. Do you need it in English as well?

"he's more than a decent manager" just picking myself up off the floor from laughing so much, your kidding, yes ? "he's a better option than many of his predecessors" and they where sacked for less than this idiot. Comparing Coco with Fergy, ha ha ha ha ha ha, you are funny

MC Prussian Posted 30 June 2013 Posted 30 June 2013 As l thought, it just fits with your views then. When you have nothing more to say, better say nothing at all. Obviously, your constructive input has now officially run dry - showing what terrible argumentation you've been using in the first place.

I couldn't be bothered but going then i'll make an effort...... a) All the players should be fit, if not injured, Pearson's fault if he as unfit players surely ! b) Mentally strong enough, its a game of football they're not climbing mount Everest ffs. c) What is his style of play ? a lot of the time Einsteins theory of stupidity applies d) Who as quarrels with he manager, its not the infant school, or is it ? Get used to the fact that he will get the sack, hopefully sooner than later, he is useless as a manager, its not a hard job and he makes a mess of it. Not bothered about fans who make excuses for him, they are for some reason blinded, gods knows why !

He has saved two clubs from relegation, won League One at the first time of asking here and has since made two Championship play offs with us. It's not a bad record imo. As I stated earlier in the thread, your standards are obviously higher than mine. I can't really be bothered posting if you're just taking the attitude that everybody who disagrees with you is just 'making excuses'. I do like/agree with the bit about climbing Everest though.

I've got to enlighten you on yours and plenty of others believes regarding Pearson saving two clubs from relegation, he didn't !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carlisle- he was the manager for 30 games, he managed to win 5 of them games, i'm sure you will agree that that is not saving them from relegation, they didn't go down, but he almost managed to get them relegated. The thing that saved them, just, was the points before he took over. Southampton- he won 3 games out of 14, that also can't be classed as saving them, us losing to them, when we should have at least got a draw as more to do with it. The truth is that he was the manager of these two clubs when they both narrowly missed getting relegated, people twist facts to make a case for him, but l have no idea why !
