That was pretty sensational.

Looking at how much they go for on e-bay, not that much, other signed mini bats have sold for around £20, a few KP ones were sold as BUY IT NOW for around £30, and that is without the presentation case, but if you stuck it on auction it doesn't look like you would get much for it.

The exact item is on eBay at a Buy It Now price of £220. It is also for sale in a charity auction at work so I was wondering what people thought.

The fact someone is selling at the price doesn't mean anyone will pay it, I always check the completed listings, and nobody on ebay has paid anything like that for a signed bat. The most expensive was a signed Lara bat for £99.

Yes obviously it's only worth what people will pay. I was just highlighting that there was someone selling exactly the same item for that price.

Anyhow I bought it in the charity auction for £95 - clearly more than it's worth but it's an incredibly worthwhile charity (Helen Bamber Foundation) so I see it more as a donation where I get something in return. And you never know if KP has a brilliant winter tour it might start increasing in value.

Squad announced.

Carberry over Compton and Stokes over Onions is unforgivable.

Was going to post exactly this. Stokes over Onions is especially nonsensical. Onions must have pissed off someone very important. His treatment has been disgraceful.

Rankin could be a good pick - should do well on the Aussie tracks but again, Chris Tremlett must be spitting.

Tremlett was superb down there last time, real gamble on Rankin but he is a fantastic prospect.

Onions (Durham)

388.1 80 1167 66 17.68

66 wickets at 17.68 in Division One, what's the point of county cricket if you can't get picked on that?

Couldn't agree more. Absolute joke - both his exclusion and Stoke's inclusion.

Bresnan a massive loss IMHO - the guy has real mental toughness.

Them figures could have something to do with the Durham wicket. Not checked out his stats but I bet a good % were at The Riverside.

Horse for a course?

Probably helps his figures but Stokes plays for the same team so it doesn't make sense!

I don't think Onions would have ever gotten a game down there, the pitches will be exploited better by Finn and Tremlett (certainly would expect one of those to be picked at the Gabba and the WACA). I think they see Stokes as a possible Bresnan replacement and one that would shorten the tail a bit if they went for 5 bowlers.

On merit he should be there but he will never get past SB, SF, JM and CT on Aussie wickets with there pace and bounce. Stokes at 22 will be along for the ride and the experience, he`s one for future unlike Onions at 31.

Carberry selection is a bigger mystery for me.

I would have put him in the Lions Tour, they are touring Aus at the same time.

Carberry is baffling, he has looked completely out of his depth whenever stepping upto this level, he'll be murdered if we get an injury to Root or Cook.
