marko Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 very good - I thought that USA was supposed to be an irony-free zone the Aussies are doing their best to challenge their status with all this Broad stuff . For the hard of thinking Broad did what aussies all do - awaited the umpire's decision . If Clarke hadn't wasted all his appeals trying it on ......oh what's the point?! Exactly. The only time an Aussie walks is when there are no stumps left standing. I watched the highlights of the last few series and there are countless occasions where the Aussies - especially Ponting - have edged the ball and waited for the umpire to give them out. No different to Broad with the exception of a poor umpiring decision in favour of Broad, which is hardly his fault. I hope they keep booing him because it certainly looks like it's doing wonders for us.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 In a psychological assessment the team ran, Broad, KP and Prior were the 3 players they identified as likely to thrive on abuse.

So we need to get a picture in the Sydney Morning Herald of Prior wiping his arse on the Southern Cross Stars then.
Captain... Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Quite an interesting interview with Mitch before the start of play, about how all the abuse really got to him and effected his confidence, he claims he is mentally stronger now, but why would you admit that it got to you, all you will do is encourage more abuse. To be honest boos should always be motivation, if the opposition are booing you it means you are doing something right.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Has anyone seen the latest from that Courier Mail rag who vowed not to mention his name? Well worth a look. Fair play to them, made me laugh

Mitch never got booed, he was cheered and had his name chanted by the Barmy Army. He came out to 'Super Mitchell Johnson' for most of the Ashes series. I'm frantically trying to work out finances to get out for the Perth test, got the buzz bigtime.

And we shouldn't ever boo him, or any fast bowler, laughing at him is the way to go.
Guest MattP Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 And we shouldn't ever boo him, or any fast bowler, laughing at him is the way to go. Yep! We scored a victory off the pitch as well, Sam Robson appears to want to play for England over Australia. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/cricket/article3927283.ece

I am Rod Hull Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-z0axan0Y0 What the hell happened to our Aussie cousins? They seen to have lost the humour gene... Must be the inbreeding.
I am Rod Hull Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I did a little giggle at the knocking in of the stumps with "the bat" I must admit
Voll Blau Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Still doesn't beat my favourite cricket-related comedy vid though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_NsFh-Z4aE
steveherbe Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Just watching the highlights of day one. When did Oz turn into gay central? All the aussie blokes in their vests and ridiculous moustaches, looks like a village people convention.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Really want to watch some action tonight, I just don't think I'll manage to stay awake!

Its a way of life.
ScouseFox Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Easy enough, 6 for Broad handsome 27 yr old pace bowler from England. Finish it off nice and quickly and get batting then boys.

leicsmac Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Shame for Trott to get out right before lunch like that. KP and Carberry need to steady the ship and put on a good partnership.
