I can't understand why Lizard Squad attack gamers.

The members are surely angry computer nerds living in their mums basements. So why piss off their fellow nerds who want to play online games?

you'd think they'd have better things to attack than PSN & XBL.

kinda shows how narrow minded they are imo.....

if only they did something good but no...they intend on ruining kids Xmas.....although karma has a way of coming around.

Annoying as they are, one thing I will give them if you've got nothing better do in the middle of Christmas Day than worry about the state of PSN/Xbox Live you need to have a word with yourself.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair for most people. A lot of people/children might've got a new console for Christmas and the attacks by lizzard squad made it so people trying out their new games would have to play offline as they couldn't purchase PS+ or Xbox live. It's stop them reaching proper enjoyment if they just see a tonne of errors on screen.

However I'm sure you're still right in some respect!

This. My nephew got one, and couldn't use it properly, that's why I was disgruntled. But Manwell is right in what he's saying to be fair, it's down to the situation I guess.

It is disrupting people's lives. It's currently a service that isn't working.

Despite only attempting to knock out the service for 14 hours, it's now been almost 72 hours, and it's still down.

The guy wants a job at Sony to show them how to prevent this happening again. lol. They're criminals and should be dealt with according to the law, if there is a law for this. Make one up if there isn't and give it hefty sentencing for disrupting millions of users online. Wanting a job? The audacity. lol

It's really not, it doesn't effect anybodies lives not being able to access an online gaming service.

I don't even mind them too much, only thing that slightly ticks me off about them is them trying to say they did it for moral reasons. DDOSing isn't really something that is going to help either in terms of security.

Any service which doesn't provide the service it should causes disruption.

I have to watch crap television tonight instead for an hour or two.

Well at least Sky is working tonight. Ours was hit and miss last night with the snow... [emoji33]

I can still get on netflix on the PS4, I always thought you need to be signed in to PSN.

I have booted up a few times to check but I'm leaving it well alone. Don't trust it - don't want saves being buggered up because of the upload save backup not working.

There was a hacker Twitter account (AnonymousProtection2015) claiming that they'd helped Sony fix their servers by providing them with a firewall. Sounded like bollocks, but the second they tweeted saying the servers were back up, they came back up and were working perfectly again... Can't believe Sony would legitimately deal with hackers though.

Anyway, onto my initial thoughts on the PS4 - wow. Absolutely love it. It's obviously a brilliant gaming platform, but I'm quite impressed with its potential as a media centre too. I was a bit annoyed about the DLNA issue, but the release of the Plex app for PS4 seems to have solved that for now - I've been planning on migrating all my content to Plex for a while, maybe just using a mini-pc as a media server that I can just leave plugged in and connected to the internet. So that should solved my media streaming issues. Also, SO HAPPY that PS4 finally has a Sky app! Haven't bothered getting Sky as I live in rented accommodation and none of my flatmates are into football (the main reason for having it) but now I've got the Sky app for PS4, I can just use my old man's username and password to access - more or less - his entire Sky subscription. Awesome.

In terms of games, I've picked up a few remastered versions of games I didn't get round to playing on PS3 (Last of Us and Tomb Raider) and then I've got Destiny, GTA V and Dragon Age Inquisition. These should keep me busy for a while. Will probably pick up FIFA in the new year, then maybe look to get COD:AW off eBay when it's a bit cheaper.
